Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the level of satisfaction on the use of e-commerce to customers of food establishments in Dipolog City amidst the CoVid19 pandemic this academic year 2021-2022. Specific questions were answered, namely: the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, educational attainment, civil status, occupation, and type of gadget used; the level of satisfaction of the respondents on the use of e-commerce in terms of e-marketing, platforms, and customers’ feedback; test for the significant difference in the level of satisfaction of the respondents on the use of e-commerce when analyzed according to their profile; the problems met or challenges encountered in the use of e-commerce; and test for the significant relationship between the respondents’ level of satisfaction and the problems met or encountered on the use of e-commerce. This study used the descriptive quantitative correlational method of research utilizing questionnaire as its principal tool of gathering data. The study was conducted among 193 residents of different barangays in Dipolog City during the calendar year 2022. The researcher-made questionnaire was used. Items of the questionnaires were gathered from the readings of the literature on e-commerce. The questionnaire was subjected for content and construct validity using Cronbach’s Alpha test to measure the internal consistency of the questionnaire. The statistical analysis of the data included the use of frequency counting and percentage, weighted average mean and standard deviation. Tests of inference were done using the t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test and the Spearman rho correlation coefficient. Statistical analyses were run using the SPSS and online data analysis calculators. The majority of the respondents belonged to age brackets 33-47 years old with 102 or 52.85 percent from the 193 respondents, mostly females, college graduate, married, working in the government, and used cellular phones. Most of the respondents were highly satisfied on the use of applications and platforms as these lead to prompt and on-time food delivery. There is no significant difference in the level of satisfaction when grouped according to age, sex, educational attainment, civil status, occupation, and type of gadget used. The use of e-commerce may not be the crucial factor affecting their problems and challenges. Concerned agencies may look into their policies of providing regulations. Future researches may be conducted to look into other factors that may have impact on the satisfaction level of the consumers in the food industry.

Abstract

The research ventures into the connection between Senior High School (SHS) teachers’ organizational commitment (OC) in relation to their experiences on the dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) done by their respective educational institutions. The study made use of the 5 CSR dimensions as basis of the experience of the SHS teachers, namely Human Rights and Labor, Environment, Economics, Product Responsibility, and Society. These were related side by side using the 3 Facets of OC which are Affective, Continuance, and Normative. Quantitative and qualitative data analyses have been used to confirm a relationship between the SHS teachers’ OC and the level of experience on the dimensions of CSR. General findings of the study show that problems of scheduling, effectivity and assessment hinders the level of OC that SHS teachers have towards the CSR activities of their educational institution. To address the issue, the research provided a set of suggestions to optimize the CSR in improving the OC of teachers through proper forms of pre-evaluation procedures, post assessment procedures and a set of effective mix of internal and external CSR program recommendations.

Abstract

The significant role of education in human development is universally recognized. More than anybody else in the education sector, teachers play a vital role in the development of an individual. However, it becomes a tremendous struggle for the school administrators on how they can retain their teachers, especially those whose services are much needed. This study determined the possible factors that cause the high teachers' turnover, which can be used as a basis for the retention program among faculty members. Thirty-seven (37) teachers from three different schools were given a survey questionnaire to determine the factors that affected their decision to leave the academic institution. The descriptive research design was utilized for this study. The study yielded the following findings which showed why teachers decided to leave the school where they work. The personal factors were considered to a moderate extent, with the change of environment most impactful. Likewise, the institutional factors also affected the teachers’ turnover to a moderate extent, mostly because the opportunities for training are limited. Finally, the psychological factors got the least impact on the teachers’ turnover, with demoralization and insecurities they felt from colleagues as the very impactful. Based on the result of the study, a retention program was deemed necessary and was proposed by the researcher.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the multiple intelligence and career preferences of Grade XII students of Biabas Trade High School as the basis for career guidance orientation. The respondents of the study are the 179 grade 12 students from different tracks. A descriptive survey method type of research was used in conducting the research using an adapted multiple intelligence test survey, multiple intelligence checklist, and an adapted and modified inventory of occupational interest checklist from National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE). The results were analyzed using analysis of variance and Pearson r to determine the significant difference and significant correlation respectively. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between the multiple intelligence and career preferences of the students. This implies that students have different multiple intelligences without any regard to their career preference. It was observed that among the nine multiple intelligences, the Existential and the Kinesthetic strength are most dominant among the Grade 12 Senior High School students. On the other hand, students who fall under the Logical strength are the least dominant. In terms of career preferences, the careers that fall under the Interpersonal strength are most dominant. The least dominant preferred careers are the ones that belongs to the Existential strength. Based on the given result, it is recommended that it must be disseminated to all senior high school teachers, career guidance advocates, and school heads through conference, in-service trainings, or during LAC sessions to communicate the importance of developing multiple intelligence and career guidance orientation among senior high school students.

Abstract

Solar pump is a more environmental-friendly irrigation option for farmers in Bangladesh. Researchers have found that using solar pump for irrigation is more cost effective. Researchers have found that using solar pump for irrigation is more cost effective as well as less damaging for the environment. Moreover, this relies on renewable energy sources that make it more efficient. Against this backdrop, the objectives of the present study were to understand the profitability analysis of using solar pumps instead of the diesel-run pumps for irrigation and also to identify its determinants. The study collected primary data from four upazilas of Jhenaidah district, purposively selected as the study site. Data were collected from the respondents whose families are involved in agricultural activities. For the analysis of collected data, the study used cost-benefit analysis, while a logit regression analysis was also done for understanding the determinants of using solar energy for irrigation. It is found that the benefit-cost ratio for using solar pump for irrigation by the farmers is 0.277, which implies that the cost is more than the benefit if the households adopt solar pump instead of diesel pumps. On the other hand, the Logit regression analysis found that bigger household size, nearby water sources for irrigation, perceptions on improved production and higher current year yield significantly influence the usage of solar pumps for irrigation. On the contrary, if households were entitled to share irrigation facilities, they are less likely to use solar pumps for irrigation.
