Building change detection makes it is easy to locate buildings from a distance in the sky. They can also observe the development of rural, or urban areas between 10 decade and present. So, higher resolution satellite and aerial pictures are needed to detect buildings. Building shape varies from one to another over the world. Rural areas are sparsely populated, but densely and complexly populated in urban areas. And it is difficult to detect separate buildings from them. To solve obstacles, non-linear filter, line extracting and region thresholding method is used in this research. The test images from the last decade and images of current year are acquired by using google earth pro, and have different spatial resolutions. Detection area is Hlaingthaya Township, Yangon, Myanmar. This system is simulated with MATLAB programming language.

This quantitative-qualitative research study investigated the level of competence of 44 Economics Education teachers from Area IV of the Division of Isabela and to the Division of Santiago City as a separate chartered school’s division in the province. Specifically, it aimed to study the competence level of economics teachers across curriculum content, instructional design and implementation, and assessment and evaluation procedures. Likewise, it further investigated the prevailing problems encountered and felt by the teacher-respondents in teaching economics. The respondents took an examination, and answered a researcher-made survey-questionnaire to measure and determine their competence level in economics in terms of the abovementioned three educative process. The findings revealed that the economics teachers have low competence in terms of curriculum content knowledge. Further, the result shows the teacher-respondents have lack of knowledge about the subject-matter, hence, are not competent in terms of dealing with fundamental concepts in economics education. Moreover, vague concepts and textual errata were also encountered in learning materials which ultimately create misconceptions throughout the teaching-learning process. Besides, the economics teachers are competent in teaching economics in terms of instructional design and implementation and assessment and evaluation procedures. They are proficient enough in executing the lessons in economics, however technical problems like unavailability of materials, too advance learning competency and instructional activities infused in learning materials, poor results of academic performance, lack of knowledge and orientation on the use of ICT-based teaching and the like are some of the problems that challenges their competence in teaching the subject. The key findings and results of the study provide implications for further studies about other factor variables that implicates teaching competence of economics teachers.

The study determined the Therapeutic Community (TC) clients’ satisfaction and assessment of the Therapeutic Community Modality Program rendered by the Parole and Probation Administration in the National Capital Region. Researchers-made survey questionnaire was administered to two (2) groups of respondents which comprise the subject population of the research. The study revealed that the TC clients were satisfied on the Therapeutic Community Modality Program in all of the dimensions being assessed; however, there are indicators on clients’ satisfaction that obtained the lowest weighted mean that need to be addressed. On behavior management, there is a need for the TC implementers to reinforce community values and give emphasis on organizational structure. Moreover, the TC implementers must give preferential attention on the application of the full program of mandatory daily activities and meetings. On the intellectual and spiritual aspects, educational activities such as seminars on special topics and academic training must be intensified with focus on group activities that counter negative behavior to reinforce community values. On vocational and survival aspects, the TC program must incorporate vocational and livelihood training. Furthermore, clients must be taught to control their actions and release them appropriately. On emotional and psychological aspects, the TC clients must be encouraged to ‘act as if’ as a means of developing a more positive attitude. In addition, self-help technique must be inculcated throughout the program and accelerated before re-entry of the clients to the community.

Historical primary sources serve as an important historical facts specially for sociologist and historian it helps them to retrieve data easily. It is very difficult to do research, data gathering specially If the data has not been stored in a cabinet or any repository properly, especially if it is being a decade or a century ago. This study will help store all the primary sources in a central database using digital technology, this approach the sociologist and historian can retrieve it easily.

The study determined the efficacy of the Management Program of Columban College, Inc. It employed the descriptive method of research. The respondents of the study were the randomly selected 3rd to 4th-year students who were enrolled with major subjects and faculty members in the Management programs such as Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major in Management, Bachelor of Science in Tourism, and Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management for the academic year 2008-2009. The student’s perceived efficacy and teachers regarding Seminars got a descriptive rating of “Agree” and field trip obtained “Agree” both under co-curricular activities. The perception of the students and faculty members on the efficacy of the Management courses in terms of membership in the organizations has a descriptive rating of “Agree”; for the academic contests obtains “Moderately Agree”; and non-academic competitions garnered a descriptive rating of “Agree”. There is a significant difference Management programs’ perceived usefulness in relation to the non-academic contests, seminars, field trips, and membership in organizations. There is no significant difference in the perceived efficacy of the Management programs with regard to the academic competition, curriculum, laboratory, library, and facility.

For several years, illiteracy, poverty, and deprivation were the worst adversary of the Philippine Government. One of the greatly affected sectors of illiteracy and poverty is the education sector. The Department of Education (DepEd) has experienced large amounts of drop-outs and out-of-school youth and adults due to poverty. For the Department to alleviate this concern, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) was established. ALS offers basic schooling for all persons who wish to return to school in a way that fits their personal needs and situation. Hence, this study assessed and extrapolated ALS learners with their 21st-century skills and its correlation to their sense of self-efficacy. Using a descriptive-correlational design, the researchers wanted to establish a link between and among variables. The findings of the study revealed moderate acquisition of 21st-century skills among ALS’ learners. Their sense of self-efficacy was also noted to be high. Further analysis revealed that, ALS learners’ acquisition of 21st century skills significantly correlated to their sense of self-efficacy. It is recommended that ALS teachers should provide more activities that will further enhance and strengthen the local and global awareness of ALS learners. Also, possible extension of the study could be undertaken to draw the general picture of the ALS learners as to their skills and sense of self-efficacy.

Alongside the roadmap toward the creation of the Bangsamoro is an implementation of Normalization Process by both the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) which mandates among others the decommissioning of MILF forces and weaponry. As a critical part of the similarly critical normalization process, decommissioning shall be a process of putting the weapons of the MILF beyond use and a process of allowing a smooth transition for MILF combatants to productive civilian life. In line with this, this paper aims to: (a) track the socio-demographic profiles of the combatants; (b) examine the perceptions of the combatants in the decommissioning; (c) describe the role of the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) in the decommissioning process and challenges encounter; (d) draw implication from the findings of the study to peace building. The study utilized the explorative-evaluative research design that employed the qualitative descriptive approach in the interpretation of data to one hundred (100) combatants of Darul Arham and IDB staff. A researcher-designed survey questionnaire was used to elicit necessary information. Results show that the combatants highly perceived socio-economic assistance specifically financial, social development, and economic and sustainable livelihood assistance to be extended to them as they are being decommissioned. The study recommends for the strengthening of measures for the both parties, the GPH and the MILF, to promote and guarantee free movement of IDB and create an environment free of fear and of intimidation so it can fulfill its part in the normalization process.

This paper described the perceived level of research capability of secondary school Science teachers in the basic education whereas a descriptive-correlational design was employed to determine the extent of relationship between research capability and profile of the 76 Science teachers from the Schools Division of Pampanga. A Research Capability Self-Assessment Scale Abrazado & Coronel (2016) was adopted to identify the level of research capability of the respondents, also a checklist was developed to identify the problems encountered by on their research undertakings. Most of the Science teachers did not yet pursue higher professional studies. Majority did not have the opportunity to attend research trainings; regarded with low research productivity. Science teachers had moderate research capability. Science teachers’ research capability had low level relationship with their profile in terms of educational attainment, research trainings and seminars attended, and research output. Lack of time, research trainings and research skills were the problems encountered. A sustainable research development program will aid Science teachers to develop and enhance their research capability

The Philippines utilizes the motorcycle as informal transport services. Thus, the birth of the “habal-habal” motorcycle taxi that traverses not only in the secondary roads but also in the national highways. This case study intends to describe the experiences of the participants on the list of occurrences that ended in casualty and fatality and to identify problems in the policy implementations pertinent to road safety and management. This study utilizes interviews, observation, and data reviews in gathering the data while the Mayring (2002) approach was used in the data analysis procedure. Themes come out from the narratives of the participants like unlicensed driving involving minors, under-reporting of fatalities and non-use of safety gear during the flight. This quantitative study aimed to determine the correlation between senior high school Grade 12 students’ perception of school climate and compliance with school classroom norms in a private university in Manila, Philippines. A sample of 249 Grade 12 respondents who were randomly selected answered the online self-administered questionnaire composed of modified scales to explore the two variables, with Cronbach tests exhibiting an acceptable level of internal consistency (perceptions school climate = 0.88, compliance of classroom norms = 0.86). The study found a positive perception of school climate (M = 4.19, SD = 0.40) and a very high level of classroom norm compliance (M = 3.40, SD = 0.32) among the respondents. The Pearson R test revealed a significant moderate positive correlation between their perception of school climate and their level of school classroom norm compliance and (r = 0.554, p < 0.001). This implies that their compliance or adherence to school classroom norms increases as their perception of school climate positively increases.
