Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest maternal mortality rates (MMR) in Southeast Asia with a rate of 189 per 100,000 live births based on the 2020 Long-Form Population Census. This figure needs to be significantly reduced to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target of fewer than 70 deaths per 100,000 live births. Proper antenatal care, including the use of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook, plays a crucial role in reducing maternal mortality. Pregnancy care is vital to ensure fetal development, prevent pregnancy complications, and lower the risk of infant mortality during childbirth. Objectives: This study aims to conduct a scientific investigation to examine the relationship in the utilization of the MCH handbook with the level of maternal knowledge among pregnant women at the Tanah Kalikedinding Health Center. Methods: This observational analytic study used a cross-sectional design. The selection of 106 participants was carried out using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rho statistical test. Results: Among the respondents, 51 (48.11%) demonstrated adequate utilization of the MCH Handbook and 89 (83.96%) exhibited a high level of knowledge regarding daily care for pregnant women. The Spearman rho test revealed a significant relationship between MCH Handbook utilization and knowledge of daily care (p = 0.042). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the use of the MCH Handbook and pregnant women’s knowledge of daily care at Tanah Kalikedinding Health Center.

Abstract

Introduction: Patients with cervical cancer have various physical complaints that can be felt directly, one of which is impaired sexual function, hormonal changes that occur due to the course of cervical cancer can cause decreased sexual desire, decreased lubrication and dyspareunia. Sexual function can result in decreased quality of life for women as an important role in sexuality. Many studies focus on the quality of life, but have not revealed sexual function. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between sexual function and quality of life for cervical cancer patients. Methods: Quantitative research design using cross-sectional method. Sample selection using quota sampling technique with 60 respondents. The instruments in this study were FSFI and WHOQoL. Data processing and analysis using the SPSS program with Spearman-rank test. Results: The majority of respondents were adults (81.7%) and underwent multitherapy (73.3%). A total of 53 respondents experienced sexual dysfunction and 55 respondents had a good quality of life. The results of the Spearman rank statistical test showed that the p-value was 0.030 (<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between sexual function and quality of life and has a weak relationship strength. Conclusions: Sexual function is a factor related to the quality of life of cervical cancer patients. Therefore, nurses must be able to reveal the sexual function experienced by patients in providing more comprehensive nursing care so that they can improve their quality of life.

Abstract

Introduction; Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health issue both in Indonesia and globally, caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Knowledge and the role of the family are crucial factors influencing an individual's adherence to medication. Understanding these factors is essential for designing effective interventions to improve treatment compliance among TB patients. Objectives; The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the role of the family with medication adherence in TB patients within the working area of the Ciruas Health Center, Serang Regency, in 2024. Methods; This study employed a quantitative correlational design using a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 210 TB patients undergoing treatment at the Ciruas Community Health Center in 2023. Purposive sampling was used to select participants. Data collection utilized validated questionnaires on knowledge, family roles, and medication adherence. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of <0.05. Results; The Chi-Square test revealed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and medication adherence among TB patients (p=0.000). Additionally, a significant relationship was found between the role of the family and medication adherence (p=0.000). The analysis categorized the patients' level of knowledge as moderate, family roles as poor, and medication adherence as moderate. Conclusions; The study highlights that both knowledge and family support play a vital role in influencing medication adherence among TB patients. These findings emphasize the need for educational interventions and family-centered strategies to enhance compliance with TB treatment regimens. Implementing these measures could contribute to better treatment outcomes and a reduction in TB incidence
