Abstract

LAPAS or Correctional Institution under the auspices of the Directorate General of Corrections is the final place of the criminal justice system process that fosters and integrates the social of convicts, so that when returning to society they are able to live a normal life. Elderly (according to Law No. 13 of 1998: Elderly) is a person whose age reaches the age of 60 years and above. In its efforts, Correctional Services interpret this understanding by regulating the rights of inmates contained in Law no. 12 of 1995 article 14 paragraph 1.The increasing age and declining body condition of the elderly inmates need special treatment both in health, treatment, and public services. Elderly inmates as much as possible are treated as people usually are, it's just that the place and application are different. This is for the implementation of part of Human Rights (HAM) as a national instrument. This special handling effort involves other stakeholders be it medical or health workers and the government to support the infrastructure needed. The elderly as one of the vulnerable groups become important objects in terms of how decent handlers are so that they feel cared for in their twilight years. Although until now still in the process and stages of refinement of special handling for them. The fact is still not optimal and this study illustrates how well the effort is.

Abstract

To know the risk factors, pharmacological treatment and prevention of psoriatic arthritis. Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic musculoskeletal disease associated with psoriasis. at least 5% of psoriasis patients develop psoriatic arthritis. Globally, the incidence of PsA reaches 133 per 100,000 patient subjects. The annual incidence of PsA is about 2.7 cases per 100 people diagnosed with psoriasis. In Asia, PsA cases increased from 2000 to 2013 with a prevalence (per 100,000 population) of 11.12 to 37.75. Based on a study at Sanglah Hospital Bali found PsA patients as much as 6.3% of psoriasis patients. PsA patients may have clinical features such as peripheral arthritis, enthesitis, dactylitis, skin, nail, and axial involvement. Risk factors for psoriatic arthritis include obesity, physical trauma, smoking, location of psoriasis in the body, education level and genetic factors. Pharmacological treatment of PsA based on the latest guidelines from EULAR 2019 and ACR recommendations. These two guidelines discuss pharmacological treatment based on the patient's clinical picture. The goal of pharmacological therapy is to improve the patient's quality of life by improving symptomatic complaints and preventing structural damage. As a prevention, PsA maintains an ideal body weight, reduces cigarette consumption, and performs detection as an early detection.

Abstract

Neural tube defects (NTD) are one of the birth defects or congenital abnormalities that occur in the brain and spine, and commonly find in newborns worldwide. Anencephaly and spina bifida are the two prevalent forms of NTD. The incidence of spina bifida happen on average 1 in 1000 cases of birth worldwide and there are 140,000 cases per year worldwide. Source searches were carried out on the online portal of journal publications as many as 20 sources from MedScape, Google Scholar and the Nation Center for Biotechnology Information / NCBI with the keywords “Neural tube defects (NTD), prevention, and spina bifida”. Spina bifida is a congenital abnormality that occurs in the womb due to a failure of closing process the neural tube during the first few weeks of embryonic development which causes the spine not completely close around the developing spinal cord nerves. NTD can ensue multifactorial conditions such as genetic, environmental, and folate deficiency. The use of folic acid supplementation starting at least 3 months before pregnancy, those are 400 mcg (0.4 mg) per day and 800 mcg per day during pregnancy can reduce the risk of developing neural tube defects such as spina bifida. Generally, spina bifida is undertaking by surgery and the regulation of patients comorbid. Public can find out prevention to avoid or reduce the risk of spina bifida so that the incidence of spina bifida can decrease along with the increasing awareness of the community regarding this disease.

Abstract

Brain tumor patients often experience cognitive impairment. In the case of meningiomas, this disorder can affect areas of executive function and memory. Cognitive impairment in meningioma patients is influenced by the location and volume of the tumor. In a study of 38 patients with WHO grade I meningiomas, working memory capacity was lower in patients with tumor resection without adjuvant treatment compared with healthy controls. The writing of this article includes various sources originating from scientific journals and government guidelines and related agencies. Source searches were carried out on online portals for journal publications such as MedScape, Google Scholar (scholar.google.com) and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov), with the keyword “Meningioma”. Another study of 293 patients (220 women and 73 men) with multiple meningiomas showed that 23% of patients after surgery had neurological deficits and 12% had new permanent neurological deficits. Regarding risk factors, one study showed that the frequency of women is higher than that of men. In addition, age is also considered to have an effect on patients with meningiomas. Meningiomas are intracranial brain tumors that are often found in adults. Cognitive deficits are common in brain tumor patients. At least one area of cognition is impaired in brain tumor patients.

Abstract

Vascular traumatic is trauma to the blood vessels caused by blunt injuries such as a hard impact or penetrating injuries such as sharp object injuries, penetrating bullet shots. Massive haemorrhage is the main cause of vascular trauma, resulting in death. Therefore, prompt treatment is needed to avoid other complications or even death due to uncontrolled bleeding. Vascular surgeons are the key to trauma injury patients, by controlling bleeding and vascular reconstruction, using aspects of open and endovascular surgical techniques. Diagnostic protocols are needed to identify injuries and consider the best tactics for surgical treatment of vascular injuries. Accurate, non-invasive diagnostic imaging techniques are key to this strategy. The aim of this review is to determine the optimal diagnostic imaging in patients with suspected vascular injury in the anatomic region and the method of treatment with retrospective or prospective data collection which is preferable to CT angiography compared to other methods. CT angiography can be declared the gold standard for diagnosing vascular injury in patients.

Abstract

Congenital cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in children. Lens opacity in early life has the potential to cause permanent visual impairment if not treated promptly. Cataract surgery performed at the right time can prevent children from amblyopia (lazy eye). This study aims to determine the characteristics of congenital cataracts at the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial General Hospital in the 2018-2019 period. This research uses descriptive method. The data used is secondary data from medical records of congenital cataract patients at the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial General Hospital in the 2018-2019 period. In the 2018-2019 period, 40 children had congenital cataracts. Most of the cataract sufferers were women (52.5%); living outside the city of Mataram (92.5%) with an age distribution of under 12 months (95%) and the rest over 12 months. For infants under 12 months, 53 percent have been diagnosing at the age of 1-2 months. The characteristics of congenital cataracts found were generally bilateral (52.5%), had standard birth weight (52.5%), history of natural birth delivery (67.5%), and had other extraocular congenital abnormalities (72.5%). Most patients with congenital cataracts in the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial General Hospital have been diagnosing at a (pretty/moderately) early age of 1-2 months at the beginning of their lives. So, with appropriate and prompt therapy, hoping that it can reduce the risk of amblyopia.

Abstract

Along with increasing life expectancy and advances in medical technology, the incidence of brain tumors continues to increase. Brain tumors can cause changes in mental status, neurological deficits, and create a large social burden. The incidence of benign brain tumors is 71% and these benign brain tumors develop twice as often in women as in men. Diagnosis brain tumors requires radiological examinations that can quickly diagnose brain tumors and must be done immediately. Source searches were carried out on the online portal of journal publications as many as 20 sources from MedScape, Google Scholar and the Nation Center for Biotechnology Information / NCBI with the keywords "brain tumor" and "radiology of brain tumor". Brain tumors cause progressive neurological disorders. Neurologic disorders in brain tumors are usually caused by two factors, namely focal disturbances due to tumors and increased intracranial pressure. The most commonly used radiological techniques are T1/T2-Weighted MRI, MR Spectroscopy, Diffusion MRI, Perfusion MRI, and Brain Tumor CT Scan. MRI is a powerful and flexible instrument for evaluating patients with primary brain tumors. Integration of the RANO criteria into treatment evaluation helps reduce premature discontinuation of effective therapy due to treatment-related imaging changes.
