Abstract

Evaluating and offering strategies for the existence of traditional Balinese alcoholic drinks that have the potential as a tourist attraction in Tri Eka Buana Village, Sidemen, Karangasem is the main goal of this research. For this purpose, different data collection tools were used, namely through interviews and questionnaires given to the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, the Village Head, the Head of the Tourism Awareness Group, and the Head of the Arak Cooperative in the village. Evaluation of the influence of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) as well as quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) analysis techniques are used to identify the appropriate management strategy. The results showed that Balinese wine has the potential to be developed in the form of arak agro-tourism. Its development must involve the participation of local communities as stakeholders and shareholders. Arak agrotourism can be an alternative for arak farmers who are not willing to cooperate with alcoholic beverage management bodies to be marketed to the tourism industries. These tourism options play a role in improving the community's economy and have a sustainable impact on biodiversity.

Abstract

Barong and Rangda dances are one of the art forms that exist in Balinese society. This dance is a traditional Balinese dance that uses a large animal mask with four legs. Barong and Rangda dance tells the story of the conflict between good and evil. The origins of Barong and Rangda are thought to have existed since the 16th century, during the reign of Dalem Waturunggung. This is indicated by the presence of Karang Bhoma, which is placed above the door or kori agung at the Paduraksa temple. In the form of barong and rangda, it seems that there is a mixture of Javanese artists with Balinese artists and has been influenced or inspired by Barongsae from China. In Sidowaluyo and Balinuraga villages, the Barong Ket and Rangda dances are performed at certain times, namely at large shrines at temples. However, not all people in the village know or understand the art of Barong Ket and Rangda and the reasons for their performance at the yajña ceremony. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance procession and the perceptions of the people of South Lampung towards the performance of Barong Ket and Rangda in dewa yajña ceremony.

Abstract

The Covid-19 case has had a huge influence on all aspects of human life, starting from health, economy, sosial, law, and many more. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused various frictions between various interests, one of which is a clash between individual interests and community interests. One of the obvious things about this problem is regarding the impact of COVID-19 in the field of sociology, especially the relationship between individuals, especially the issue of community stigmatization regarding infectious diseases, the dilemma between the privacy rights of the identity of COVID-19 patients and the disclosure of publik data on COVID-19 patients with various risks will injure and cause multiple material and immaterial losses. On the other hand, Covid-19 also raises various sosial-psychological problems and legal problems that still do not regulate all aspects of human life. This paper describes the sociological elements of COVID-19, the right to privacy, publik information disclosure, and the sosial-psychological impact of COVID-19, along with a juridical review of the right to privacy and publik disclosure of information regarding the transparency of COVID-19.

Abstract

The implementation of Ngaben is one of the Balinese Hindu traditions for the ceremony of a death. The implementation of Ngaben is a ceremony with a series of many activities and invites a crowd of people. The COVID-19 pandemic period requires people not to carry out gathering activities so that they do not become the cause of the spread of the virus and how to keep ceremonial activities running without reducing meaning. The purpose of this study is to qualitatively identify the culture of gathering during cremation and the solutions offered so that gathering activities do not occur and become the spread of covid-19. This study used a qualitative method through a phenomenological approach, using 4 participants (people who are directly related to religious activities, including the community, community leaders namely head of the ward, 1 participant is a religious leader from the Indonesian Hindu Dharma Association in the Buleleng area). Sampling with nonprobability sampling and using purposive sampling. The results of the study found that there were 3 major themes that were found (1) Ngaben is local wisdom or as a very rigid culture, (2) Ngaben as a form of spreading covid and forming a covid cluster, (3) Changes in Ngaben cultural behavior from conventional to Crematorium. The conclusion is that the community cannot stop cremation activities because it is local wisdom, so to prevent new clusters of covid at the cremation ceremony, the community is required to change their behavior and slowly change the cremation that can be done in the crematorium.
