The role of the creative economy and tourism as one of the economic catalysts encourages the realization of inclusive development in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the existence of a creative economy and tourism workforce, the wages/salaries of the creative economy and tourism workforce and domestic tourists, and the inclusive economic development. This research method uses quantitative statistical analysis with the Least Squares Dummy Variable (LSDV) technique. The research has sample of 34 provinces in Indonesia in 2018-2021. The results indicate that the rate of the creative economy and tourism labor, and the rate of tourism labor wages/salaries affect inclusive economic development positively and significantly. Meanwhile, the rate of domestic tourists and the wage/salary rate of creative economy labor affect inclusive economic development positively and insignificantly. This research implies that government and community involvement is needed to create a sustainable creative economy and tourism through various efforts, such as ecotourism, technology development, and policy realization, to increase innovation and creativity in this sector.

Abstract

Foreign direct investment (FDI) is an important input to the achievement of a country's goals such as economic growth and poverty. The study looks at the impact of financial development (FD) on foreign direct investment (FDI) in nine ASEAN member states along with China, India, Japan and South Korea in 2018-2022. The estimate method used is the GMM method (generalized method of moment). The study found that financial development positively and significantly influenced the flow of foreign direct investment. Trade openness, human development and price levels were also found to influence FDI while economic growth was found to have no significant impact. The findings in this study imply that a good financial system is essential to attract even higher FDI.

Abstract

A low level of employment opportunities cause problems in a country's economy. Low employment opportunities are caused by an increase workers number without being balanced by the availability of new jobs. This research aims to determine the effect of population, growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Human Development Index (HDI), and Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK) on the level of employment opportunities in West Java Province. This research uses secondary data through quantitative methods. The analysis used is panel data regression. The research results show that population size has a positive and insignificant effect on the level of employment opportunities. The growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and the Human Development Index (HDI) have a positive and significant effect on the level of employment opportunities, while the District/City Minimum Wage (UMK) has a negative and significant effect on the level of employment opportunities. Policy proposals for the West Java Provincial government to focus on development by developing infrastructure and investment that have the potential to create new jobs. Programs to improve the quality of human resources need to be improved to develop workforce skills. Apart from that, the government needs to consider structuring wage policies and creating decent work opportunities to protect the workforce.

Abstract

Economic growth is one of the important economic indicators in the economy. The study aims to analyze the factors that influence economic growth in BRICS countries during the period 2008-2023. Independent variables are expected to affect economic growth in this study including primary sector commodities, trade, industry, and population. The method in this research uses fixed effect panel data regression model. The results explain that the factors that positively affect economic growth in BRICS countries are trade and industry. Meanwhile, the contribution of primary sector commodities and population have not significantly affected economic growth in BRICS countries. This research is expected to contribute to various aspects that have an impact on the global and regional economy, especially on BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) in policy making that focuses on planning strategies to increase economic growth based on challenges and opportunities in global and international markets.

Abstract

The unstoppable growth of fintech, accelerated by the pandemic, is reflected in the increasing financial inclusion and literacy rates in Indonesia, as observed by the OJK. P2P Lending has become one of the most popular fintech services, offering accessible and affordable loans to various segments of society. However, the ease of access has led to challenges, with many individuals, including teachers, facing the risks of over-indebtedness. This study investigates the role of debt literacy, financial management practices, and financial confidence in influencing over-indebtedness among teachers in Karawang Regency. Using a quantitative approach, data from 385 teachers were analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the complex relationships between variables, considering the influence of demographic factors. The findings reveal that debt literacy and financial management practices have no significant negative impact on over-indebtedness, while financial confidence has no significant positive impact.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the factors that cause Indonesia to fall into the middle-income trap category, as indicated by the manufacturing sector, education level and number of MSMEs. This research uses quantitative with error corection model methods. The data used is from 1997-2022. The data used consists of manufacturing value added, school enrollment rates, number of MSMEs and per capita income used as a middle-income trap proxy sourced from the World Bank, BPS and ukmindonesia.id. The results of data processing show that the manufacturing industry has a negative effect on the middle-income trap in both the long and short term. The direction of the variable relationship is in accordance with theory. An increase in manufacturing industry will reduce MIT. However, the level of education and the number of MSMEs have a positive influence on MIT because most of Indonesia's APS is dominated by a reasonable salary of 9-12 years and MSMEs are only able to absorb small-scale workers. Indonesia is expected to be expelled from MIT within 6 years or 2030.
