Abstract

The angklung is a traditional musical instrument from West Java, Indonesia. It can be played both individually and in groups. Playing the angklung requires precision in terms of tempo, rhythm, pitch, and beats to ensure that the music aligns with the intended song and is enjoyable to listen to. Therefore, not everyone can play the angklung, as it demands skill to achieve the right tempo, pitch, rhythm, and beats. To address this issue, a solution was developed, which involved creating a system and device capable of playing the angklung automatically. In this research, a system was designed to move the angklung automatically, simulating a robot, and it is referred to as the "angklung robot." This angklung robot consists of a set of 16 notes, and the electrical components used include an Arduino Mega 2560 as the microcontroller, a 16-channel relay module, motor drivers, a micro SD module. To play a song, the device uses a score file that has been converted and stored on a micro SD card, adjusting the tempo to match the desired Beats Per Minute (BPM).Through several experiments, the angklung robot successfully played 10 pre-composed songs with a 100% accuracy rate. According to the opinions of 10 music enthusiasts who were surveyed, the level of accuracy in which the angklung robot played the songs was 90%.This innovation brings automation to the traditional art of playing the angklung, making it accessible to a wider audience and ensuring consistent and precise musical performances.

Abstract

This research presents a low-cost sensor for measuring liquid levels using plastic optical fibers (POF). The sensor reduces the scattering-based optical losses in the fiber, which increase linearly with the liquid height. A U-bent fiber probe and photodetector are used to detect the change in optical intensity. The U-bent probe serves as a test probe for measuring the liquid level. The voltage response difference of the photodetector provides liquid level measurement. This study demonstrates the sensor's responsiveness to liquid level fluctuations above 55 cm at varying temperatures. Sensitivity levels of 1.4 and 3.3 mV/mm were achieved for water level fluctuations below and above 45 cm, respectively. Furthermore, the sensor demonstrated consistently stable responsiveness over multiple cycles.

Abstract

Consuming alcoholic beverages improperly or excessively has a very bad impact on the health of the human body, it can even cause accidents, fights, theft, murder and the risk of death. This research produces a tool that can detect alcohol content in liquid herbal using the MQ-3 sensor, DHT22 sensor, data logger to store test results data and the test results are grouped by means of manual calculations with Microsoft Excel and Matlab software simulations. The type of liquid herbal used is liquid herbal for rheumatic pain, gout, dizziness, colds and coughs. In each liquid herbal test, it takes 10 minutes/liquid herbal medicine and is repeated 6 times for each liquid herbal test. Based on the test that the higher the temperature affects the increase in the proportion of the alcohol content of the liquid herbal and the minimum temperature obtained is 30.8°C to 32.9°C. Microsoft excel calculations and matlab simulation software, clusters are divided into 3 according to the type of alcohol content group and the iteration stops at the 12th iteration with the objective function value = 0.00074 < error = 0.001. From the results using Matlab Software, 8 data were obtained in group A with an average alcohol content 9,9%, 9 data in group B with an average alcohol content of 9,05% and 13 data in the content group C with an average alcohol content of 10,73%.

Abstract

Genset is a combination of two different devices: the engine as a rotating device and the generator as a generating device. Genset at PT. Mitrabara Adiperdana. Tbk is used as a backup when the electricity source from PLN goes out. Due to fluctuating loads, an ample power supply is needed when the conveyor is operating, so more than one generator is needed to supply electricity according to load demand. To meet the power needs at PT. Mitrabara Adiperdana. Tbk, 2 gensets with a capacity of 500 kVA and 3 gensets with a capacity of 800 kVA were synchronize. Generator synchronization aims to obtain optimal power, good efficiency and efficient specific fuel consumtion (SFC). When 5 generator units were paralleled, the lowest efficiency was 19.2% with an SFC of 0.48 liters/kWh in September with a capacity of 800 kVA, while the highest efficiency was 62.98% with an SFC of 0.15 liters/kWh in July with a capacity of 800 kVA. The calculation result, when given the same loading, obtained the lowest efficiency of 1% with an SFC of 9.3 liters/kWh in August with a capacity of 500 kVA and the highest efficiency of 51.45% with an SFC of 0.18 liters/kWh in August with a capacity og 800 kVA. The calculation result show that the efficiency is affected by the amount of output power, the difference in the initial year of operation, anf the difference in several parameters of the nmaplate. Meanwhile, the generator’s Specific Fuel Consumtion (SFC) is influenced by the output and hours meter.

Abstract

When it comes to disease prevention and quality human development, the main focus is on promoting optimal under-five health and growth. Integrated service posts, also known as posyandu, often take center stage when it comes to tracking the development of under-fives in the community. However, there is still no effective system to measure the height and weight of toddlers in posyandu. Therefore, a spreadsheet-based tool was created that can help the process of measuring the height and weight of toddlers in posyandu to be easier, faster, and more accurate. The data can also help posyandu officers, medical personnel, and parents in making decisions related to the health and nutrition of toddlers. Height and weight monitoring is done through a spreadsheet. The components used in this tool are ESP 8266 as a microcontroller, ultrasonic sensor as a height meter, load cell sensor as a weight meter, LCD to display measurement notifications, rfid-rc522 to communicate data from rfid tags so that when scanning/tagging to rfid, the data from height and weight measurements will be uploaded to the spreadsheet. From the tests carried out, it is obtained that the device functions properly and helps posyandu officers to monitor and measure the growth of height and weight in toddlers efficiently.

Abstract

Water accumulation in air conditioning (AC) drain pans can lead to corrosion and subsequent leaks, impacting AC system performance. This study focuses on implementing a monitoring system to track water levels and promptly discharge water to prevent corrosion. Using a research and development approach, the study evaluated the water level sensor's performance in measuring water levels and the pump's effectiveness in discharging water at specific levels, ensuring overall system reliability. The system utilized the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, a water level sensor, an LCD I2C 16x2 display, and Blynk as a smartphone-based monitoring platform. The findings demonstrated the effective functionality of the device in evacuating accumulated water from the AC evaporator. This was achieved through the activation of a water pump when the water level reached a threshold of 2 cm, thereby preventing potential leakage in the air conditioner's storage gutter.
