Motivated by the continuous but inconclusive and ambiguous evidence on the relationship between board diversity and financial performance, this study aimed at providing new evidence that will enhance the state of knowledge by establishing if board diversity affects the financial performance of listed Banking institutions in Nigeria. The key dependent variables of interest were Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) and the independent variables of interest were board gender diversity and board independence. The study sampled 12 listed banks from the Nigerian stock exchange and relied on secondary data from the Bloomberg database and the annual reports of the banking institutions. Panel data methodology was used to analyse the data for the period under review (2015-2019). The results of the study indicated that board gender diversity has a significant positive impact on both ROA and ROE of the banking institutions. Conversely, the findings of the study indicated that board independence has a significant negative impact on both ROA and ROE of banking institutions. The findings of this study are related to Agency and Resource dependence theories and will contribute to meaningful policy reforms that can improve corporate governance, especially in the banking industry. The results of the study strongly recommend the need to increase the number of female directors on the boards of banking institutions. The study further recommends ways in which the contributions of both female and independent directors can be promoted in other to benefit from their presence on the board.

The study aimed to identify the memory and learning skills and their relationship to academic achievement among university students in Jordan. The descriptive approach was used in addition to the questionnaire as a tool for the study. The study sample consisted of (1000) university students from different universities, colleges, specializations and levels of study in different Jordanian universities, and the study was applied The study was conducted in the second semester of the academic year (2020-2021), and the study reached a set of results, which is that university students in general possess a high level of learning skills, recall and academic achievement, in addition to the existence of a direct relationship between learning, recall and academic achievement for the members of the research sample . The study found that there are significant differences in the skills of learning, memorization and academic achievement between the academic disciplines of the female students) Scientific and Humanitarian) and for the benefit of scientific specialization .

The banking industry plays a crucial role in the industry and economic growth of a country. The products and services offered by banks are significant to attain a competitive edge. The research study empirically finds the effects of service quality dimensions in improving the customer satisfaction of state commercial banks in the Ampara district quantitatively by using a deductive approach. The present study focuses on the factors determining service quality and customer satisfaction. Data was collected from 275 customers from the Ampara district. The conceptual model was formed and categorized under human-related factors, non- human-related factors. Accordingly, hypotheses were formed to examine the relationship that exists between service quality and customer satisfaction. The research study empirically found that there is a positive relationship exist between service quality and customer satisfaction while human-related factors have a great impact on customer satisfaction than non- human-related factors. Reliability and Assurance are the most influential determinants of customer satisfaction in-state commercial banking industry. The findings and managerial implications were suggested to state commercial banks to invest more efforts towards human-related factors than non-human related factors to uplift their service quality to attract and retain their valuable customers.

This paper compared the quality assurance practices in Unity and private secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo States, Nigeria touching variables such as infrastructural facilities, staff discipline. The research design employed for the study was a descriptive survey type. The population of the study was made up of all Unity and Privates secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo States, Nigeria. Purposive and random sampling techniques were used to select the respondents in all the sampled schools. The data for the study were gathered through the use of questionnaires tagged “Quality Assurance Practices Questionnaire†(QAPQ) administered to teachers, Vice Principals and Principals. The data gathered during this study were analyzed with inferential statistics called t-test and ANOVA. The findings revealed a slight difference in infrastructural facilities in the sampled schools. Private secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo State were rated higher than the Federal Government Colleges. This paper further revealed that the discipline and control of staff in private secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo States were stricter than the Federal Government Colleges in both States. Based on these findings, the paper recommended among others that there should be adequate provision of infrastructural facilities, efficient supervision of schools to maintain a quality standard of equipment, especially the provision of potable water and electricity in the Federal Government Colleges. Also, staff discipline in private secondary schools should be more relaxed instead of instant judgment in the interest of fairness and low staff turnover.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors driving customer switching behaviour in the Nigerian road transport industry. Arguing from the theory of planned behaviour, a survey of 371 (306 valid) customers of the organized road transport industry in Nigeria’s South-East was carried out. Collected data was analyzed with multiple regression analysis (MRA) in SPSS 21.0. Findings indicate that service quality, price, and promotion are positive and significant drivers of switching behaviour, while location is not. The study recommends crafting marketing strategies around service quality, price, and promotion as effective approach to avoid customer swapping.

The main intention of this study was to determine the drivers of customer switching behaviour in the Nigerian road transport industry using firms in the South East. The researchers adopted the cross-sectional survey research method in this study. The questionnaire served as the major instrument for primary data collection. The study focused on the customers of eight road transport firms (ABC, Peace Mass, God is Good Motors ITC, Abia Line, ESTMASS, TRACAS, and EboMass) in the South East of Nigeria. The sample size for the study was 371 customers of the selected transport firms. Thus, three key drivers of customer loyalty were considered in this study including physical facilities, complaint handling system and e-service availability. The study found positive correlation between all the variables and customer switching intention.
