Abstract

Medical profession students have a high level of academic anxiety, one of the interventions that can reduce expressive writing. This study aims to determine the effect of expressive writing techniques on reducing academic anxiety in medical profession students in Makassar. This study used a Pretest Post-test Control Group Design. The research participants were medical profession students from several universities in Makassar, totaling 6 experimental groups and 6 control groups. The measuring instrument used in this study was the academic anxiety scale. Data analysis techniques using Wilcoxon and Mann Whitneyy hypothesis tests. The results showed that expressive writing can reduce academic anxiety scores in medical profession students. The results of the Mann Whitney test, namely p = 0.004, show that there are differences in academic anxiety scores in the experimental and control groups. Wilcoxon test results are p=0.028 for the experimental group and p=0.783 for the control group. The results of this study found that the posttest score owned by the experimental group (mean = 90) was lower than the control group (mean = 113). The implication of this study is that expressive writing can be used as one of the media to reduce academic anxiety of medical profession students.

Abstract

This research analyzes the performance of the budget expenditure in the Law Division of the Mataram City Regional Secretariat. The aim is to determine how the performance of budget expenditure is viewed through variance analysis, expenditure growth analysis, expenditure compatibility analysis, and expenditure efficiency ratio analysis. This study employs a descriptive approach with quantitative data, while the data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the performance of budget expenditure, as seen from the variance analysis of the expenditure during the period of 2017-2021, is considered good. The performance of budget expenditure, based on the expenditure growth analysis during the period of 2017-2021, tends to decrease, but it is not due to poor performance. Therefore, the performance of budget expenditure is still considered good. The expenditure performance, viewed from the expenditure compatibility analysis, is good for operational expenses, while capital expenditures were only carried out in 2018-2019. The performance of budget expenditure, as seen from the expenditure efficiency ratio analysis, is very good, as the budget realization does not exceed the budget, and since the result is less than 100%, the Law Division of the Mataram City Regional Secretariat has achieved budget efficiency.

Abstract

There are many things that influence marital satisfaction. One of the factors is loyalty to the partner. Therefore, efforts are needed to prevent infidelity to maintain marriage. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sexual satisfaction with the husband's intention of infidelity. The method used is a quantitative method in the form of a survey. Respondents in this study were men who were husbands with a minimum age of 5 years of marriage and domiciled in Makassar City. A total of 100 respondents participated in this study. Data was collected using a sexual satisfaction scale and an infidelity intention scale. The data analysis used is product-moment correlation . The results of the hypothesis test showed a correlation value of r = -0.769 with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p <0.005), which means that there is a significant relationship between sexual satisfaction and the intention of cheating on a husband. A negative correlation value indicates a negative relationship between the intention of infidelity and sexual satisfaction in the husband. This means that the higher the sexual satisfaction, the lower the intention of infidelity. Conversely, the lower the husband's sexual satisfaction, the higher the intention of infidelity. The findings in this study have implications for married couples, especially wives, to pay more attention to sexual satisfaction in their marriage to maintain the quality of their marriage.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research aims to have a descriptive account of the types of code mixing used by the EFL students in the classroom presentation for the English course provided. The researchers conducted this research at the English Education Faculty of Institut Parahikma Indonesia, Gowa (IPI Gowa) purposely taking 1 lecturer teaching the English course and 1 class of the fourth semester students consisting of 10 students having a classroom presentation as one of the learning activities designed. It employed a classroom observation and open interview to collect the data in which their results were classified based on Musyken’s theory (2000) and analyzed using the theory of Miles, Hubberman, and Saldana (2020) coming with three stages of the interactive model data analysis, namely data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The result of data analysis showed that the code-mixing types utilized by the students when doing the presentation were three, that is (1) insertion (word) taking the most dominant type used with 27 extracts, (2) alternation (clause) taking more dominant type used with 15 extracts, and (3) congruent lexicalization (dialect) taking the least with 12 extracts in the classroom presentation. These findings simply means that the use of code mixing becomes the students’ communicative strategy channeling the presenters and the audiences’ ways of understanding the points of their discussion during the classroom presentation.

The results of this research showed that (1) There were 3 fossilized mispronunciation in vowel sounds (/ə/, /i/, /ɒ/) and 5 fossilized mispronunciation in consonant sounds (/z/, /v/, /θ/, /dʒ/, /tʃ/). Based on these findings, it considers that the fossilization can be avoided by reinforcing the comprehensive input from the lecturers and motivating the students to pay more attention to their pronunciation.

Abstract

Occupational accidents are a serious problem that can cause injury, disability, or even death for workers in various industries. Therefore, it is important to carry out an in-depth analysis of risk mitigation and the use of safety equipment to prevent work accidents. This study aims to analyze risk mitigation and the importance of applying safety equipment in the context of preventing work accidents. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. The research data was obtained through in-depth interviews with experienced workers, safety managers and other related parties in several companies in different industrial sectors. The research results show that effective risk mitigation plays a crucial role in preventing work accidents. Factors such as risk identification, risk evaluation, and mitigation planning become important elements in a safety strategy. In addition, the role of safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, safety shoes, and other personal protective equipment has proven to be very influential in reducing the risk of injury and accidents. This case study also highlights the importance of training and awareness of workers on the correct use of safety equipment. Lack of understanding and awareness can reduce the effectiveness of safety equipment, thereby increasing the risk of work accidents. Based on the research findings, it is suggested that companies adopt a risk-based approach in identifying and mitigating occupational risks. In addition, regular training on the use of safety equipment should be held to increase workers' awareness and understanding of the importance of safety in the workplace.

Abstract

Tanjung Priok Port is one of the busiest loading and unloading ports in Indonesia which serves both export and import activities, causing a risk of accidents that can occur. In order to anticipate these problems, an effort is required to identify and reduce the risk of accidents. This study aims to analyze the MV ship accident case of MV. Mandarin Ocean at the Main Port of Tanjung Priok. Through the implementation of the Formal Safety Assessment (FSA), it is expected that an accurate and scientific analysis will be obtained regarding the hazards that will occur, costs in risk control, and recommendations for overcoming them in the loading and unloading process at Tanjung Priok Port. This study used the Fault Tree Analysis method to find the root causes of accidents to reduce/eliminate the risk of accidents. Based on the research results, it is known that the Implementation of Safety Management System PT. Prima Bandar Samudera is not optimal. Likewise with the Monitoring Supervision of the Implementation of Safety Management carried out by PT. Tanjung Priok Port is also not optimal. Therefore, based on the priority scale on the FSA results, immediate implementation is necessary as a corrective measure to reduce and even prevent various accident cases that occur at the Tanjung Priok Port. This is to achieve the main goal of ship safety management, which is to realize "Zero Accident".
