Abstract

Carper fish (Cyprinus carpio) is a freshwater fishery commodity that is currently experiencing rapid development from time to time. The increasingly rapid development and quality cannot be separated from the role of hatchery activities. Therefore, an appropriate program is needed in an effort to improve the quality of carp fish seeds. This study was conducted to evaluate the optimization of the carper fish (Cyprinus carpio) breeding process in order to produce more optimal seeds by studying the natural breeding method. The working method in this study uses a descriptive method with primary and secondary data collection techniques. Parameters observed were fecundity, Fertilization Rate, Hatching Rate, and Survival Rate. The results of the study showed a fecundity value of 240.000 eggs with an FR value of 80%, HR value of 95%, and SR value of 36%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the causes and impacts of the conversion of fish ponds into oil palm plantations in Kasano Village, North Mamuju. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive research approach. Data collection used observation techniques and direct interviews with fishermen who converted their ponds into oil palm plantations in Kasanao Village, Baras District, North Mamuju Regency. The results of this study indicate that the number of fishermen who convert their ponds to oil palm plantations is around 80%. Land conversion occurs gradually, there is no change in social status due to land conversion. Instead, the conversion of the ponds is due to the problem of the value of oil palm being higher than milkfish or shrimp.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the diversity of fish species caught on the Ndalir Coast of Merauke Regency. This research was conducted in Juli-August of 2020. The determination of the sampling points at the research location used the purposive random sampling method with two observation stations. Analysis of the research data using relative abundance (Kr), Shannon-Wienner index (H'), uniformity index (E), and dominance index (C), The number of fish catches during the study time was 431 which were divided into 12 species of fish. Station two has a greater number of catches than station one. The highest relative abundance was tongue fish (Cynoglossus abbreviation) (Station I) and mullet (Mugil cephalus) (Station II). The diversity index value at the two observation stations is in the medium category. The uniformity and dominance index values show that the species at the two research stations are evenly distributed with no dominating species.

Abstract

Shrimp that has the potential to be cultivated in ponds are giant tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon) and vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). The advantages of this vaname shrimp are disease resistance, fast growth with a relatively short maintenance period of 100-110 days, high survival during maintenance, and low feed conversion value (FCR) (1:1,3). The objectives of the study were to evaluate the performance of vaname shrimp culture, identify problems and formulate intervention proposals in white vaname shrimp culture, and analyze income related to aquaculture productivity to determine the level of profit. The research was carried out in March-May 2021 at PT. Hasil Nusantara Mandiri, Sungai Bulan Village, North Singkawang District. This study uses a descriptive approach by observing productivity indicators, SR, FCR, and water quality as supporting data. Problem identification uses Root Cause Analysis and Fishbone Analysis. The results show that the productivity obtained is 24.233,48 kg, which is the company's target for 4 ponds, namely 48.000 kg. The income or profit is Rp. 106.199.842.
