Abstract

This paper focuses on the process of rebuilding reputation and the intention level of the community to continue trust after trustees fix their e-commerce systems. This research integrates two previous research models to assess rebuilding post trust violation through system improvement that may influence the intention to continue trust. The objectives of the research are to examine the efforts of rebuilding post trust violation on the Business to Consumer (B2C) E-commerce and test the effect scale of the system improvement on the intention of the customers to continue trust. Using the data of 267 respondents that experienced trust violations, the result shows that the intention to continue trust was significantly related to the communication improvement, rebuilding trust through system improvement and confirmation by trust restoration. Meanwhile, the variables of the commitment to guarantee, product varieties and third party support were not significantly related to the rebuilding of post-violation trust in B2C electronic commerce. The paper also discusses the implications of the findings both theoretically and practicall in detail. Key Words: Trust, System, Communication, Confirmation. E-commerce

Abstract

AbstractThe main objective of this study is to develop a research framework for strategic management researchers to develop sound strategic business model innovation that has practical implication on how to innovate firms' business models. The research identifies factors attributing to effective business model: business strategies, type of business model innovations and types of resource configurations. This study framework can guide leaders and managers to acquire the appropriate capability of coping with business model dynamics as well as major transformation that arises from business model innovations. In addition, the study provides insightful contributions in explaining the influence of business strategies (defender, prospector, analyzer) on business model innovations and firm resource configuration, and their influence on business model effectiveness. This study model is valuable considering the limited amount of empirical work previously done on the topic in question. Based on a case-study research survey in seven companies in Indonesia that took place in 2011-2012, we have drawn first conclusions expressed in four research propositions that deem further tests. One case (Food Co.) is highlighted for the description of the study to show some presence and absence of alignment between business strategy, business model innovation, and resource configuration.Keywords: effective business model, business model innovation, business strategy, defender, prospector, analyzer, resource configurationAbstrakTujuan studi ini adalah mengembangkan rerangka penelitian strategi dan inovasi model bisnis. Riset ini mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas model bisnis, yaitu strategi bisnis, tipe inovasi model bisnis, dan tipe konfigurasi sumber daya. Rerangka studi ini memberi perspektif kepada pemimpin dan manajer dalam bagaimana memperoleh dan membangun kapabilitas yang sesuai untuk menghadapi dinamika model bisnis dan transformasi model bisnis. Studi ini juga berkontribusi dalam menjelaskan pengaruh strategi bisnis (defender, prospector, analyzer) terhadap inovasi model bisnis, konfigurasi sumber daya, dan pengaruhnya pada efektivitas model bisnis. Studi ini penting mengingat masih terbatasnya studi empiris yang melihat keterkaitan strategi bisnis, inovasi model bisnis, konfigurasi sumber daya, dan efektivitas model bisnis. Satu ilustrasi kasuistik (Food Co.) dalam tulisan ini menggambarkan hadirnya dan ketiadaan kesesuaian antara strategi bisnis, inovasi model bisnis, dan konfigurasi sumber daya. Abstract

As a company that moves in retail business specialized in selling daily needs, company X has developed their brand to become top of customers’ mindwith 12% rate of sales growth. However, the Board of Directors (BOD) of company X targeting the rate of sales growth should be 20%, therefore they decide to make an expansion to gain the sales rate, also follow the increasing demand, as well as maintain the customer satisfaction.This research focuses on determining the best alternative that can generate the highest revenue for company X, using decision analysis tools (i.e. smart choice), decision tree and sensitivity analysis. This analysis will be presented in step-by-step in order to be able to generate the best alternatives by understanding the consequences, tradeoff, and uncertainties of the alternative. Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the vertical integration of markets between producers market grain rice with a retail market in Indonesia. Results of analysis useful for government to review whether the price received by farmers is quite feasible when viewed from the price of rice sold to consumers. The data used are secondary data from monthly data for average price of rice retail and average prices of grain producers in Indonesia. Monthly data from January 2000 to December 2008 is the time series data and analyzed with a model of Vector Autoregression (VAR). The results showed that the price movements of grain producers and rice consumers in Indonesia have a similar direction, but the price of grain producers more volatile than rice consumers. Grain producers market has not fully integrated with the rice retail market in Indonesia. In the short term grain producers market influenced by rice consumers market but it does not vice versa. Government intervention is needed in the grain producers market. If the grain producers market is fully integrated with rice retail market, it will mean changes in the retail price of rice is also followed by changes in the price of grain producers with the same direction.How to cite:Aryani, D. Abstract

Indonesian magazine business is characterized by high distribution cost, which constitutes of 60%-70% of the overall enterprise cost. This study aims to investigate the key agents who play significant roles to the distribution coverage in Indonesian magazine market, using social network analysis perspective. Data of 90 agents were collected from five respected publishers of four different major cities. Using ‘roster recalls method’, within 16 months period, 90 agents were interviewed by six field researchers, concerning their social relationship, family relationship, professional/working relationship with other agents. The study found that there are six key agents whose networks will be able to penetrate the Indonesian magazine market. By using only the identified key agents, publishers estimate that 31%-41% of distribution cost could be saved. Future related researches are also suggested in the final conclusion. Abstract

Transportasi mempunyai peran strategis dalam menunjang pertumbuhan perekonomian. Secara umum, transportasi angkutan barang di Indonesia tergolong tidak efisien dan berbiaya tinggi. Keberadaan Terminal Peti Kemas Bandung (TPKB) diharapkan mampu memaksimalkan peranan angkutan barang sehingga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan perekonomian Bandung dan wilayah sekitarnya. Penelitian sebelumnya mengungkapkan dengan variabel penelitian waktu tempuh perjalanan, ketepatan waktu pelayanan, keamanan barang dari kerusakan dan kapasitas moda yang tersedia mampu mewakili 81,5% tingkat kebenaran modelnya. Masih terdapat 18,5% variabel-variabel penelitian yang belum terungkap. Penelitian ini bertujuan membangun model konseptual dengan menggunakan metode grounded theory untuk mengungkap pemahaman mengenai faktor-faktor kontekstual yang mempengaruhi pemilihan moda angkutan barang antara kereta api dan truk. Analisis dikaji berdasarkan konteks fenomena pemilihan moda angkutan barang pada responden perusahaan tekstil dan garmen wilayah Bandung dan sekitarnya dengan sudut pandang strategi operasi. Tahapan analisis menggunakan metode grounded theory yang diawali dengan pengkodean terbuka, lalu pengkodean aksial dan pengkodean selektif, dan dibentuklah model konseptual penelitian.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh pada pemilihan moda angkutan barang rute Bandung-Jakarta adalah waktu, biaya, kepercayaan, kualitas, kehandalan dan fleksibilitas. Dengan ini disarankan untuk mengembangkan hipotesis dan instrumen pengumpulan data pada model konseptual, sehingga model dapat diuji pada kasus terminal peti kemas dengan kasus serupa.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of credit on farm household economic behavior and evaluate the impact of access to credit sources and reduction of lending rates on farm household economic behavior. This research used survey method. Data analysis using the simultaneous model (2SLS) and simulation model. Data were collected through a survey of household lowland rice farmers in the district of Sumedang, West Java Province. The results showed that farm  household  as a unit of production and consumption respond positively to the amount of credit. The amount of credit, led to the increased use of production inputs, output  and  farm income, which in turn  will lead to the increased of consumer spending and demand for hired labor . This indicated that the farm household as a family farming is essentially a household production and household consumption as well, so that production and consumption decisions are not separate, but closely related. Access to sources of credit is more important than a low lending rates.
