The Indonesia Journal of Business Administration(IJBA) is a business journal that bridges the gap between business research and practice, evaluating and reporting on new research to help readers identify and understand significant trends in their fields. The IJBA seeks to publish papers relating to business, broadly defined. It publishes articles that address both theoretical and practical issues in the broad areas of Business Strategy and Marketing, People and Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology Management, Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation, Operation and Performance Management, and Business Risk and Finance.Contributing academicians and researchers are encouraged to address a variety of concerns relating to all areas of business. We also encourage students to use an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing a topic, which often yields interesting and novel papers. The published articles provide valuable insight into matters of broad intellectual and practical concern to academicians and business professionals. The Journalis published three times a year: in April, July and October. The journal is mainly an outlet of MBA ITB students to publish their final project works, although it also accepts articles written by students at masters level from other institutions. A published paper is an honor that will be unambiguously beneficial for professional and academic careers, especially for those who want to attend graduate/professional schools. This means that papers written in relations to Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Law, Corporate Ethics, and Public Policy all qualify for submission. Information on the journal format can be found in the journal's website. The number of pages must be at 10 pages. Abstract

The growth of Mutual Funds in Indonesia is very rapid. This certainly has a positive influence on the Indonesian capital market. Mutual Fund is one instrument that has a quite large investment in the contribution of investment in the capital market. Referring to the Capital Market Law No. 8, 1995, article 1, paragraph (27) defined that the Mutual Fund is a vehicle used to collect funds from public investors to be invested in a portfolio of securities by the investment manager. From there, this final project provides an alternative to invest in mutual fund shares that contain any stocks that may provide better performance in the current economic conditions and how best portfolio of these stocks.In this final project, a conceptual framework is the stock selection, and composition of the portfolio return. Historical stock price data used are LQ-45. To create a portfolio, Excel Solver Ad-In is used to optimize the proportion of each stock. In addition, this study uses the business cycle as issues relating to the investment world. In different business cycles, the growing sector in general different.The approach used is the rate of profit (expected return) and the level of risk (standard deviation) generated from each portfolio are formed. Stocks are selected based on criteria are stocks in the index option LQ-45 and then projected by the method of regression for the next five years to see the performance in the future. Optimization aims to maximize portfolio returns using an efficient barrier specified, where in this thesis is the maximum return, the minimum standard deviation, beta value, and the maximum Sharpe Ratio.The conclusion of this final project is to construct optimal equity fund that can survive or perform well during periods of recession. Keywords:  mutual funds, equity fund stock selection, optimization of stock, the business cycle.

Abstract. Performance management is a driver for organizational excellence. The success of any organization relies upon the performance of the employees, therefore employees? performance is an important consideration for businesses. The objectives of this research are to identify the challenges or barriers that facing in the implementation of performance management in PTFI, and in conjunction with that to provide the improvement recommendation. It is important to evaluate performance management practices in PTFI, to ensure performance management in PTFI is able to drives employee behavior to align with organizational goals. This research using qualitative descriptive research method. According to the results of this study, the implementation of performance management in PTFI is considered not effective, the targets set by the Company in terms of mine production and safety aspect are difficult to achieve, in addition the Company's internal work climate is not conducive. Here are problems that cause performance management at PTFI is not effective: there is no linkage between Company goals and individual goals, issues on supervisor capabilities, and performance management practices that lead to perceived injustice. To overcome the existing problems, the proposed business solution in this study is as follows: the implementation of the balanced scorecard as a measure of company performance that can translate corporate strategy, vision, and mission to the level of execution, trainings to improve supervisory skills, improvement on feedback process, and improvement on rating scale.Keyword: performance, performance management, balanced scorecard, strategy, key performance indicator, organization.

Abstract

Abstract. PT KATARDA INDO GLOBAL has been operating in the tourism industry running for four years and can be categorized as a new company and is one of the travel agents in Bandung. Who professionally offers the best services — along with the times, accompanied by increasingly advanced technological developments, such as the presence of the internet and all digital access in various activities. People can only make transactions such as buying goods, ordering travel tickets, or sending money using a smartphone. This also affected the tourism industry, where conventional travel agents have begun to be replaced with online travel agents such as Traveloka, Pegipegi.com, Tiket.com, and other online travel bookings or other online travel agents. With this, the impact of the business of PT KATARDA INDO GLOBAL is where there has been a decline in revenue in the past year and a lack of brand image in the company. This study aims to analyze the business situation both internally and externally in the tourism industry, especially in tourism and travel; Resource-based views do internal analysis, business models, VRIN analysis, and value chain analysis. While the external analysis was carried out based on PESTEL analysis consisting of Political Factors, Economic Factors, Social Factors, Technology Factors, Environmental Factors, and Legal Factors. Besides, analysis of five of Porter's strengths, and competitor analysis, and SWOT Analysis concluded the two analyzes. The research method used was qualitative, where Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was used by management and customers of PT KATARDA INDO GLOBAL after conducting interviews with partners from hotels, restaurants, and other travel agents. So from the FGD results and interviews, it can help in developing or formulating a better business strategy model for PT KATARDA INDO GLOBAL to improve income performance. Which in the previous strategy was still not optimal in implementing it such as marketing strategies and human resource strategies, besides the last goal is to analyze new business strategies so that sustainability in the tourism industry, PT KATARDA INDO GLOBAL can implement it.Business solutions that will be carried out through TOWS analysis developed from SWOT analysis, after that Company Level, Business Level, and Functional Level Strategy. The implementation of business strategies is carried out within eight months, up to the end of the year or more following the capabilities of the company. With the implementation and business development of this strategy, it expected that PT KATARDA INDO GLOBAL could increase revenue, increase brand awareness, and be able to compete with competitors. Keywords: Tourism Industry, PT Katarda Indo Global, Business Strategy

Abstract

Abstract – Yayasan IDH is a small scale nonprofit organization who work and doing projects in Indonesia to tackle environmental issue related to agriculture commodities and estate crops. Yayasan IDH relatively is a new established entity which newly operated, with total 22 employees and in parallel also need to developed procedures and policies including human resource system, to achieve operational excellent. With the rapid employee growth in the last two years, Yayasan IDH will also need to strengthen its position as an organization including its human resource management. Using the modified Kouzes – Posner approach, leadership assessment at Yayasan IDH would like to capture the leadership and decision – making individual behavior and its influence on employee performance. Abstract â??  PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk, or which can be shortened to PT.MPPA has four business units with many formats, consisting of, Hypermart, Foodmart, Boston Health Beauty and the last, the newest is Smart Club. Since formally established in 1986 to date, PT MPPA highly dependent sources of his income from Hypermart, considering that more than 50% of its revenue comes from Hypermart. Given Indonesia is one country with a very large number of people supported by the Indonesian population birth rate of 1.49 percent per year, and with a population that would require a lot of consumption in an effort to survive for life, on the other hand, despite economic slowdown in 2015, 2016 APRINDO optimistic in the retail industry will grow 12%, another survey of customary international survey agency, Kantar World panel Indonesia stated even though the economy is currently slow down, level of consumption or fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) still experienced a growth of 15 percent.Along with the birth rate, the prediction APRINDO, the growth rate of consumption, and investment plans by Lippo Group to expand market share, the PT MPPA should identify which business units are well worth the investment in the future to support the company's plans to become a market leader in the retail sector. The identification is done by using GE matrix - McKinsey consisting of nine areas by grouping each business based on market conditions and the strength of a business units. This tools then also used to analyze the condition of each business unit today and the identification of the future direction of each business unit which exists. Abstract

Abstract - Azura Travel Tour was established in early of 2014 in Bekasi. The company operates on the tourism sector. Azura Travel Tour focuses on the sales of travel agent system which has full facilities including domestic and international air flight tickets purchasing, train tickets purchasing, hotel reservation, domestic and international tourism packages, Hajj Plus and Umroh Trips, multi-payment and pre-pay credits, documents and packages air shipping which cooperate with Lion Group, airport shuttle, travel bus. In 2015, Azura had 200 million Rupiahs as the numbers of net profit target. However, Azura net profit on January to December 2015 was only reached 43% of the expected target. Moreover, among 136 people who are listed as Azura current total of members, only 51% who conduct the transaction. Azura was analyzing the external and internal issues of the company to figure out the problem solving. The external and internal analysis is using PEST Theory and Porter's 5 Forces, STP Analysis, Marketing Mix, Developing Effective Communication, Channel Management Decision, Purchasing Decision's Factor, Competitor Analysis, Data Exploration, and Questionnaire to 136 members of Azura. The root cause of problems in Azura are less effectiveness in strategies making by the intention of winning over the competitors, the lack of effectiveness in designing strategies on advertising programs, the last one is the lack of effectiveness in managing relationship with Azura members After realizing the existing root cause, Azura provides the solutions to fix these issues. The strategies which are going to be used are the designing advertising programs based on company promotional intention and constantly measuring the results of advertisement, fixing strategies on the application of marketing mix in order to win the competition among the competitors, keep embracing the members in handling complaints, conducting business motivation, and also rewarding interesting gifts and awards as appreciation according to the accomplishment, then the members will compete to increase their transactions. Azura will focus on the strategies by the intention of achieving better profit target in the next upcoming years in the implementation plan by designing effective strategies on advertising programs, Ads in newspaper media constantly, advertising cooperation with the members, members evaluation, members gathering. Abstract

Abstract School participation growth in Indonesia always in high number and also followed by number of student. Growth of number of student followed by needs that must be met, one of them is school’s uniform. It shows that school’s uniform business is a great opportunity for SME. Seragam Harapan Adek is a brand that provide not only school’s uniform, but also school’s accessories, and other thing that student needs. However, Seragam Harapan Adek faces some problem, one of them is the inconsistent sales. Besides, Seragam Harapan Adek also need to figure out how to growth, aim new market, and survive in school’s uniform market competition. Conceptual framework used in this study to analyze Seragam Harapan Adek’s market conditions both external and internal. For external analysis, author use PEST analysis, porter five forces, and competitor analysis. For internal analysis, author use STP, marketing mix, VRIO analysis, and business model canvas. External and internal factor than used to determine the new marketing strategy for Seragam Harapan Adek to increase their sales. External and internal factors than used to formulate SWOT.  From SWOT’s result fund, author determine new marketing strategy. Abstract. Indonesia has become the most commercially attractive segment in the consuming class. Indonesia has grown consistently over the past ten years. The consumer goods industry has changed because of economic conditions, changing technology consumers who are more empowered. Cullinary is in great demand in all circles (age, gender, etc). This would be a good opportunity for entrepreneur to start new business in manufacturing in food and beverage. Therefore, this research investigates the impact of profitability and leverage towards stock returns on food and beverage firms listed in IDX period of 2012-2014. This investigation would probably as a reference for entrepreneurs who like to start their own new business. This research find the probability (ROA, ROE, and NPM) and Leverage (DER) as an independent variables, have statistically significant at ? = 10% towards SR as a dependent variable. The relationship among independent variables have various impact on SR. This research stated that, DER has the most impact on SR negatively, and the rest consecutively are negative ROA, positive NPM, and positive ROE. However, the samples are abnormal distributed. Abstract

Abstract. Creative economy is a growing industry but publishing industry as a part of creative economy faces more problems. Current data based on Indonesia book retailer company shows that total sales growth only 2% per year in 2015, that is lower than several years ago. At this time, company faces new business environment that is a digital era. The issues that company face are how to survive and growth in this digital era.  The purpose of this research is to develop new business model for company which more relevant with digital age. For do that, it is necessary to has deeper understanding about the business situation which company face. The research method and framework is used in this research there are PEST Method, Porterâ??s Five Force, Market Research for customers analysis, internal analysis, and SWOT analysis. The survey method is used in market research with questionnaires to targeted market segment specifically who life in Bandung.  The research result shows that in macro environment factors, the political and economy factor are tend to be positive for company future growth, but several changing external factors have an impact to company that are the growing of digital technology which influence customers behavior and trend of new culture. In microenvironment the force which has an impact to lowering company growth is substitute product that is free information or content in the internet while the digital book does not influence. In customers analysis shows that many customers have high reading interest to physical book, but their purchasing power is low, therefore they tend to choose internet for search free information although internet information still has a lot of weakness such as credibility of information and too much information. From that several analysis, the root cause of company slow growth is because of threat factor from internet free information that cause customers choose internet than physical books. The new business model is developed to face that new business environment, while the method is used business model generation. The result are seven business model ideas for this issue which after evaluating each others, the Digital Novel business model is a best business model solution for company. It is because from the research it is known that many customers like reading a physical book than digital book, fiction/novel book is the best selling and most favorite category, and customers always depend to digital technology as a modern lifestyle. Key words: business model, digital age, book publishing
