Abstract

The discourse of terrorism, extremism, and fundamentalism movements is not a new issue, but what becomes a public question is why all these actions are always in the name of religion. From various events, the majority of people claim the action was carried out by hardline groups with the face of Islam, such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, Abu Sayyaf, and so on. In fact, acts of terror are also carried out by groups with other religious backgrounds, such as the bombings that occurred in Malegaon, Maharashtra, and in Modasa, Gujarat in India on September 29, 2008. The question is, is it true that religions teach their followers to commit violence and justify such acts? What are the factors behind the emergence of religious violence? This research aims to examine religious sects from all religions in the world that often commit violence in the name of religion. In addition, it also wants to know the history of the emergence and movement of fundamentalist sects that become a forum for religious radicalism.

Abstract

The issue of inheritance distribution has often caused debate even since centuries before. This research aims to examine from the perspective of Islamic law the equal division of inheritance. The research method used is qualitative method with library research and content analysis approach. The result of the research is that basically Islam does not recognise an equal division of inheritance. And Islam has regulated in such detail the division of inheritance, as mentioned in the Quran and Hadith. The Quran is a holy book that is used as the main life guide for Muslims to be obeyed to get peace and peace in life. The Islamic inheritance system is very fair, and fair does not mean the same. Through the Al-Bahjah TV channel, Buya Yahya in his content explains that equal distribution of inheritance is also allowed under certain conditions, namely there must be no belief that the provisions for the distribution of inheritance that have been taught in the Al-Quran are unfair, then the next condition is that it is carried out voluntarily by the party with the larger share of inheritance. Buya Yahya emphasised the importance of following the rules of sharia and maintaining peace in the process of dividing inheritance. To minimise the risks of the world and the hereafter, if the inheritance will be distributed equally, then the settlement can also be done with other alternatives before the heir dies, namely by means of a grant contract or will contract. This research is expected to add broader insights regarding the distribution of inheritance equally.

Abstract

Islam is a religion that highly upholds justice without discriminating between men and women. However, in line with the times, limitations and differences in understandingreligion have become a scourge that glorifies certain genders and demeans others. Inequality in social roles based on gender is still maintained under the pretext of religious doctrine. Religion is involved to preserve conditions in which women do not consider themselves equal to men. It is not impossible that behind this theological awareness there is anthropological manipulation aimed at establishing a patriarchal structure, which is generally detrimental to women and only benefits certain classes in society. Seeing this paradigm shift, Amina Wadud tries to boost understanding that has strayed far from the Al-Qur'an's respect for women.
