Jurnal Kajian Ekonomi dan Pembangunan (JKEP) is a peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for scientific works pertaining to Development Economics. This journal was first published since June 2019 by the Universitas Negeri Padang.This journal published four times a year and has e-ISSN 2656-0356. JKEP is expected to be used as a reference for academicians in writing a scientific, relevant, and dynamic article to enhance the new generation that is found in writing an academic paper. The Redaction Board accepts only research in the field of legal science that already in the form of a journal article to be considered for publication. The aims of JKEP are to provides immediate open access to its content in the principle of making research freely available to the public as a support for the greater global exchange of knowledge. The language used in this journal is English or Indonesian. Scope of articles published in JKEP is consist of a broad range of topic in the field of development economics, energy economics, environmental economics, international trade, public finance, rural development, regional economics, financial development, monetary economics, industrial economics, Islamic economics, agricultural economics, and labor economics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze how the influence of the number of industries, the population and also the output value on the absorption of labor in the small industrial sector in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data sourced from data obtained from official institutions and related institutions or data that has been managed by a second party and published by relevant institutions in this study, such as BPS, Department of Industry, trade, and so onresearch variables are grouped into two parts, namely first, the independent variable in the form of the number of industries, the number of industries and the value of output. Second, the dependent variable in the form of employment. This study uses panel data regression analysis using the Random Effect Model (REM) method with a cross section of the number of industries, population, output values for the 2015-2020 period. The results of the study show that the number of industries and the number of residents have a positive and significant effect on the absorption of labor in the small industrial sector in Indonesia. while the output value also has a positive but not significant effect on employment in the small industrial sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Customer Characteristics indicators of gender, age, education, marital status, and number of dependents, Business Characteristics indicators of business fields, ownership of business premises, length of business and monthly income, Credit Characteristics indicators of loan value, products, and the installment ratio, as well as the Characteristics of the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN) indicators of restructuring on Credit Collectibility at PT. Padang Area Padang. This research data is based on secondary data on 1,204 active customers of PT. Padang Area Padang on January 23, 2022. By using logistic regression method, the results of this study indicate that the variables of education, trade dummy, flexion dummy, installment ratio, restruk dummy , and lepas restruk dummy have a significant influence on credit collectibility at PT. Padang Area Padang

Abstract

The influence of exchange rate variabels, international prices, palm oil production, soybean oil prices and India’s GDP per capita on exports of Indonesian palm oil to India is explained in this study. The technique used by the Error Correction Model (ECM) period 1990-2020 for time series data. The observation results of show that international price variable and soybean oil price have a significant for total exports of Indonesian CPO to India in the short term, but the exchange rate, palm oil production and GDP per capita of India has no significant effect. Then the exchange rate variable have a significant, while international price variables, CPO production, soybean oil prices and India's GDP per capita has no significant effect in the long term.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of poverty, unemployment, investment, and government expenditure on human development (health and education) and economic growth, as well as analyze the relationship between human development (education and health) and economic growth in districts and cities of the province of West Sumatra. The data used is panel data consisting of a cross section of 7 districts and 7 cities in West Sumatra Province and time series from 2015 - 2020. This study uses a simultaneous model (2sls). The results of this study that human development (education) is influenced by unemployment in the district, while in the city, poverty, unemployment, economic growth have not had an impact on human development (education and health). On the other hand, economic growth in the district is influenced by government expenditure, while in the city, investment, government expenditure and human development (education and health) have not had an impact on economic growth. From the econometrics study, it is found that human development (education and health) and economic growth have not had a mutually influencing impact or there is no causal relationship either in the district or in the city. We conclude that the government needs to improve human development in the fields of education and health and economic development in order to make a good contribution to the development of a region.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the budget deficit, and inflation on Indonesia's foreign debt and analyze the influence of inflation, foreign direct investment and foreign debt on economic growth in Indonesia.This research is classified into descriptive and inductive research. Using annual time series data from 1986-2020. The analytical model used in this study uses a multiple linear equation analysis model using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and simultaneous equation analysis using the Indirect Least Square (ILS) method.The results show that there is a positive and significant effect of the budget deficit variable and there is a negative and significant influence of the inflation variable on Indonesia's foreign debt for the period 1986-2020, and there is a negative and significant influence of the inflation and foreign debt variable on economic growth in Indonesia, while the variable Foreign direct investment has a positive and insignificant effect on economic growth in Indonesia for the period 1986-2020.Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that the government make policies that can reduce the level of foreign debt and the government must carry out new strategies to increase economic growth.

Abstract

Sustainable economic development requires people who are able and empowered to meet their needs and escape from poverty. It can be seen that the HDI for women is always below the HDI for men every year. This study aims to identify women's empowerment in the economy and politics can improve women's development in West Sumatra. With the Panel Least Squares (PLS) method then proceed with the classical assumption test, with a panel regression model. Research on 19 districts/cities in West Sumatra with a span of 5 years. The results showed that female professional staff, women's income contribution had a positive and significant effect on women's development, women entrepreneurs had a negative and insignificant effect on women's development, women in parliament had a positive and insignificant effect on women's development in West Sumatra. It can be concluded that women's empowerment in the economy and politics is very important for the development of a country. From the results of this study it is suggested to the government to pay more attention to women's empowerment so as to achieve women's development and improve gender-equitable welfare

Abstract

The study aims to find out the effect of (1) government budgeting in health sector on quality of human resources in Indonesia (2) non cash food assistance programme on quality on human resources in Indonesia (3) smart indonesia programme on quality of human resources in Indonesia (4) government budgetin in health sector, non cash food assistance program and smart indonesia program on quality of human resources in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data which source of Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia, DJPK Kemenkeu, Kemensos RI and PIP Kemendikbud. This study uses panel data analysis with Random Effect Model (REM) on 34 provinsi In Indonesia during 2018-2020. The result of the study are (1) Government budgeting in health sector has positively significant on quality of human resources (2) Non cash food assistance programme has positively insignificant on quality of human resources (3) Smart Indonesia Programme has negatively significant on quality of human resource (4) Government budgeting in health sector, Non cash food assistance programme and Smart Indonesia Programme have  impact on quality of human resources.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of government spending on education, per capita income and poverty on net enrollment rates in Indonesia. This research is descriptive and associative. The data used is secondary data from 33 provinces in Indonesia in 2014-2021 obtained from related agencies. This study uses panel data regression with the Random Effects Model approach assisted by Eviews 9 software. The variables used are high school enrollment rates (Y), government spending on education (X1), per capita income (X2), poverty (X3). The results of the study show that (1) government spending on education has a positive and significant effect on net enrollment rates at the high school level in Indonesia (2) per capita income has a positive and significant effect on net enrollment rates at the high school level in Indonesia (3) Poverty as a measure of the percentage of poor people has a negative and significant effect on net enrollment rates for secondary schools in Indonesia

Abstract

This study explains the extent to which the Quality of Human Resources, Cooperatives, and Economic Infrastructure Affect Economic Growth in Indonesia. The data sources used in this research are secondary data and data from 2013 to 2020 in 34 provinces of Indonesia. This study used descriptive analysis and inductive analysis. Inductive analysis can be tested with several tests, namely: (1) Panel Regression (2) Classical Assumption Test (3) T test and (4) F test. The variables used in this study are the Quality Of Human Resources (X1) Cooperatives (X2) Economic Infrastructure (X3) and Economic Growth (Y), using panel data; it was found that (i) the Quality Of Human Resources had a positive and significant effect on Economic Growth in Indonesia (ii) Cooperatives had a negative and insignificant  effect on Economic Growth in Indonesia (iii) Economic Infrastructure had a positive and insignificant effect on Economic Growth in Indonesia (iv) overall, the independent variables in this study have a significant effect on Economic Growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Fincial Deepening on Economic Growth in Indonesia. The independent variable in this study is Findepth or the ratio of total loans to Nominal GRDP (X1) and the dependent variable is Economic Growth (Y). In this study also used control variabel, Labor or labor Force Ratio to population (X2) and Govexp variable or Ratio of government expenditure to Nominal GRDP (X3). This research is a descriptive and associative study. The data analysis used in this research is secondary data, the kind of data is panel data from 33 provinces in Indonesia from 2010-2019, the data sourced from the Central Agency for Stastistik, Indonesian Banking Statistics and Website of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive and inductive analysis. In the inductive analysis there are several test, namely (1) Chow Test; (2) Hausman Test; (3) Panel data regression estimation test (FEM); (4) classical assumption test; (5) T test and F test. Based on the research, the result of this study is: (1) Findepth has a positive and significant effect on economic growth; (2) Labor has positive and significant effect on economic growth; (3) Govexp has a positive and significant effect on economic growth.
