Jurnal Kajian Ekonomi dan Pembangunan (JKEP) is a peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for scientific works pertaining to Development Economics. This journal was first published since June 2019 by the Universitas Negeri Padang.This journal published four times a year and has e-ISSN 2656-0356. JKEP is expected to be used as a reference for academicians in writing a scientific, relevant, and dynamic article to enhance the new generation that is found in writing an academic paper. The Redaction Board accepts only research in the field of legal science that already in the form of a journal article to be considered for publication. The aims of JKEP are to provides immediate open access to its content in the principle of making research freely available to the public as a support for the greater global exchange of knowledge. The language used in this journal is English or Indonesian. Scope of articles published in JKEP is consist of a broad range of topic in the field of development economics, energy economics, environmental economics, international trade, public finance, rural development, regional economics, financial development, monetary economics, industrial economics, Islamic economics, agricultural economics, and labor economics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of capital expenditure on economic growth and income inequality in West Sumatra. This research is descriptive and inductive. The data used in this study is secondary data with data collection using panel data obtained from BPS West Sumatra Province 2014-2018 period with 19 regencies / cities in West Sumatra. This study analyzed using a simultaneous equation model (simultaneous equation regression model). The results of this study indicate that (1) Capital Expenditures have a significant effect on Economic Growth in West Sumatra (2) Capital Expenditures have no significant effect on Income Inequality in West Sumatra (3) Simultaneously Capital Expenditures and Economic Growth have a significant effect on Income Inequality in West Sumatra.

Abstract

The study was conducted to: (1) Determine the response to corruption resulting from the shock of democracy and economic growth in Indonesia. (2) Knowing the democratic response resulting from the shock of corruption and economic growth in Indonesia. (3) Knowing the response to economic growth due to the shock of corruption and democracy in Indonesia. The data used in this study are secondary data, sourced from the KPK annual report website and sourced from BPS (Badan Statistics Center). VAR analysis method is used to determine the two-way relationship between variables. The results of the research are: (1) There is no causal relationship between corruption and democracy. However, there is only a one-way relationship between corruption and democracy (2) There is no causal relationship between corruption and economic growth. However, there is only a one-way relationship between corruption and growth. economy (3) There is no causal relationship between democracy and economic growth. However, there is only a one-way relationship between democracy and economic growth. Based on the research results, it is suggested that the Government can implement policies in handling cases of corruption and democracy because it will affect the welfare of society and the government system in Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of domestic investment, foreign investment and transportation infrastructure on economic growth in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research. The data used are secondary data from 1980 to 2019 collected through documentation and related agencies. . This study uses multiple linear regression analysis and Error Correction Model (ECM). The results of this study indicate that: (1) domestic investment has no significant effect on economic growth in Indonesia; (2) foreign investment has a significant effect in increasing economic growth in Indonesia; (3) Transportation infrastructure has a significant effect in increasing economic growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examined and analysis the effect of remittances, foreign direct investment, imports, and economic growth in Indonesia in the long run and short run. This study using Error Correction Model (ECM) method and using the annual time series data from 1989 to 2018. This study found that: (1) remittance have an insignificant positive effect on economic growth in the long run and short run,(2)foreign direct investment have a significant positive impact on economic growth in the long run and  short run, (3) import have an insignificant positive impact on economic growth both in the long run and short run. To increase the economic growth in the future, this study suggests the government to decresing imports of consume goods and increasing the inflow of capital goods, raw material goods, remittances and foreign direct investment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) Causality of road infrastructure and urbanization in Indonesia. (2) Causality of road infrastructure and public welfare in Indonesia. (3) Causality of urbanization and welfare in Indonesia. Type of Data: Secondary data in the form of time series. Sample and research: From 1987-2017. The method used in this research is the Vector Error Correlation Model Method. The results show that: (1) In the short term urbanization and community welfare do not contribute to the variability of road infrastructure in Indonesia. (2) In the long term, urbanization and community welfare each contribute to road infrastructure. (3) In the short term road infrastructure contributes to the variability of urbanization and the welfare of the community does not. (4) In the long run, people's welfare will contribute the most in influencing the variability of urbanization. (5) In the short term as well as in the long term, road infrastructure and urbanization contribute to the variability of the welfare of the people in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study attempts to influence the estimate and explains work, the number of income and education to money japuik in Padang Pariaman District, the type research this  research is descriptive the data used was primary and secondary data that analyzed using multiple linear regression. The estimation results shows that the type of work  has a significant  influence on the amount of money japuik in Padang Pariaman District, the number of income is significantly positive effect on money japuik in Padang Pariaman District and Education also has a positif but not significant effect on japuik money in Padang Pariaman district.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the effect of the level of education on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (2) the influence of gender on job seekers' opportunities to access the internet in West Sumatra. (3) the influence of age on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (4) the influence of the area of residence on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (5) the effect of income on job search opportunities in accessing the internet in West Sumatra. This type of research is descriptive - associative. The types and sources of data from the Socio-Economic Survey are secondary. In this study using data that already exists in a data collection (National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) in 2018. The analysis tool used is logistic regression analysis, and the total number of job seekers is 1,641 people. From the results of this study, it is explained that (1) education has a significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra, (2) gender has no significant negative effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (3) age has no significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra (4) the area of residence has a positive and significant effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (5) income has a significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. As for the results of the research, so that the government of West Sumatra Province can provide socialization on the use of the internet in looking for work and become a consideration for the government in formulating a policy related to job availability for job seekers in accessing the internet.

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of macroeconomic variables on stock returns in the financial sector in Indonesia. The indicators of macroeconomic variables studied were world gold price, exchange rates, inflation, an economic growth. This study uses secondary time series data from 2005 first quarter to fourth quarter 2019. The research data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis and Error Correction Model (ECM). The result oh this study indicate that : (1) the world gold price has a negative effect on the stock return of the financial sector in Indonesia; (2) the exchange rate has a negative effect on the stock return of the finacial sector in Indonesia; (3) inflation has a negative effect on stock return for the financial sector in Indonesia; (4) economic growth has a negative effect on the stock return of the finacial sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

The study describes the effects on globalization population density and economic growth on environmental degradation in Indonesia. This research uses a time series data from year 1971 - 2017, with method  Error Correction Model (ECM). Data sources from Global Carbon Project, KOF Swiss Economic Institute, and World Bank. Research  result explain that (1) Globalization in long term  has a insignificant positive effect on environmental degradation in Indonesia, but short term globalization has a insignificant negative effect on environmental degradation in Indonesia (2) Population density in long term has a significant positive , and short term has a  insignificant positive effect on environmental degradation in Indonesia (3) Economic growth in long and short term has a significant positive effect on environmental degradation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to systematize and explain the effect of land area, fertilizer use and labor on agriculture output of food crops in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research, the data used is secondary data which is analyzed using panel regression analysis. The estimation result show that land area has a negative and insignificant effect on agricultural output of food crops in Indonesia, the amount of fertilizer use has a positive and significant effect on agricultural output of food crops in Indonesia and labor has a negative and insignificant effect on agricultural output of food crops in Indonesia. Therefore this study proposes the government to be able to run a program that can increase land production power and labor production power in order to increase agricultural output of food crops.
