Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce interactive multimedia-based biology learning media using a valid, practical and effective powerpoint media that can be applied as a biology learning medium on cell material. The type of research used is development research with a 4-D development model. This model includes four stages, namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The learning media developed were validated by media experts and material experts, the responses of biology teachers and responses by students in class XI PA SMA Negeri 2 Kabanjahe. All data were obtained from the data collection instrument and analyzed descriptively. The results showed: (1) The validity of the media based on the assessment of media experts and material experts by getting an average percentage of 85.5% with the criteria of "very valid / very good". (2) The practicality of learning media based on student and teacher responses after using the media got an average percentage of 95.3% which included the "very practical" criteria. (3) The effectiveness of the media based on the results of student learning mastery after using interactive multimedia learning media is 86.1%. Then the calculation of the significance level is carried out with the ngain test score . From the results of manual calculations obtained n-gain score of 0.52. Based on the results of the study, the use of interactive multimedia learning media is said to be feasible with valid, practical and effective categories.

Abstract

One of the uses of technology in education is to use e-learning-based learning media. E-learning media is a learning media equipped with web access. E-learning can make it easier for teachers to access various materials, worksheets and teaching materials through various media, one of which is by using Live Worksheets. The cause of low learning achievement is that students are less creative in learning, lack of practice questions and less interesting questions. Based on this, learning media is needed that can support the teaching process through comic-based student worksheets. The development of comic-based student worksheets aims to determine the validity of the media, students' responses to the media, and the effectiveness of the media developed in improving student learning outcomes. The method used in media development is ADDIE. Data collection techniques used in this study include: interviews, questionnaires or questionnaires and test techniques. The data analysis in this study is descriptive analysis and N-gain test. The sample used in this study is one lecturer who is a material expert, design expert, media expert, and 30 seventh grade students at the state junior high school 24 Medan. The validation results obtained from material experts, design experts, media experts are feasible to use. The responses obtained from students are also very good and learning media can improve student learning outcomes, it can be seen from the N-gain test calculation score, which is 0.71 in the high category

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the improvement in student learning outcomes and the responses of students who are taught using HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) teaching materials based on the case method in solution material. This research was conducted on students of the chemistry education study program in the chemistry department, FMIPA, Medan State University. Research sampling was carried out using purposive sampling and a sample class of PSPK 23 A was obtained. The research instrument used in this research used test instruments to analyze improvements in learning outcomes and non-test instruments to analyze students' responses to the teaching materials used. The analysis technique for improving learning outcomes is carried out using the N-Gain test and to analyze student responses using a percentage scale. Based on the analyzed learning outcomes data, it was found that the increase in learning outcomes for students in the "Medium" category was 74.286% and for those in the "Low" category was 25.714%. In line with this, data on the results of student responses to HOTS teaching materials based on the case method that was used gave a positive response with a percentage rate of 91.3% which was included in the "Very Good" response category

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility level of the Learning Multimedia that was developed based on the ispring suite 10 as a source of independent learning on the respiratory system material for class XI SMA. Learning Media developed based on expert validation, namely material experts, media experts and based on field tests to obtain responses and assessments by subject teachers, and students. This study uses a 4-D model of instructional development design by Thiagarajan which includes 4 stages, namely; define, design, develop, and disseminate which are limited to limited field tests and limited distribution to see the results of students' classical learning mastery. Research preparation begins in August 2021 and will be carried out in October 2021 – July 2022. The product trial was conducted at the Methodist 8 Medan Private High School. The results of the study indicate that the Learning Multimedia that has been developed is feasible to be used as a source of student self-study because it meets the eligibility criteria. Based on expert validation, the mean score was 4.40 or 88% (very feasible) from material experts. Meanwhile, media experts obtained a mean score of 4.62 or 92.4% (very feasible). Based on the results of field tests on teacher and student responses, it was obtained a mean score of 87.05 (very feasible) from the results of the teacher's assessment of the field of study and a mean score of 90.62 (very decent) from the results of student assessments. Students' classical learning completeness in limited distribution gets a percentage of 86.15% (very decent).

Abstract

This research aims to find out the types of typical food of the Batak Angkola tribe, the ingredients and processing methods for typical food of the Batak Angkola tribe, as well as explaining the original science of the typical food of the Batak Angkola tribe in an effort to develop science learning tools. This research was carried out in the South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research was carried out in June-July 2023. The type of research used in this research was descriptive qualitative research. The data sources used in this research are primary data and secondary data using interview methods, direct observation of the Angkola Batak community. The results obtained in this research were various types of typical food from the Angkola Batak tribe, namely: Holat, various types of snacks including Panggelong, Lading-lading, golang-golang, Wajik and various types of processed salak fruit. The ingredients for the typical Batak Angkola regional food are obtained from the area itself. The main ingredient for making hotal is using shaved balaka plants, for making panggelong, lading-lading, golang-golang and wajik using rice flour which is produced directly in the area. Every typical Angkola Batak food production has its own science concept which is specialized in the production of each food

Abstract

Based on the PISA 2022 results, the scientific literacy abilities of Indonesian students are still below the international average. This research aims to see the level of scientific literacy abilities of junior high school students in Medan City in 2023. This research was carried out at several representative schools designated by researchers as schools representing sub-districts in Medan City. Sample selection was carried out using stratified random sampling. From the 21 sub-districts in the city of Medan, one superior junior high school in each sub-district was selected. From the 21 selected schools, 1 superior 8th grader from that school was taken from each school. The instruments used are scientific literacy questions which have previously been developed by researchers following the indicators set out in the PISA 2018 framework which consists of 15 indicators for 3 scientific literacy competencies in the PISA 2018 framework. It can be concluded that the average scientific literacy ability of students in Medan City was still in the sufficient category. Student achievement was still low in several PISA 2018 framework scientific literacy competency indicators
