Abstract

The experience of school bullying or bullying at school is one of the factors that can affect social adjustment, especially social adjustment at school. Adolescents who are victims of bullying will experience psychological distress (psychological distress) which directly becomes an obstacle in making social adjustments. This study aims to see the description of social adjustment at school in adolescents who experience school bullying. This study was conducted on three teenagers who experienced bullying at school using a qualitative approach. The theory used in this study is the theory of social adjustment in schools by Schneiders (1964). Social adjustment is considered as important for adolescents to be able to fulfill their developmental tasks. The results showed that the three research subjects had poor social adjustment in school. Subject F has poor social adjustment in school in terms of completing school assignments, following lessons in class, and interacting with friends in class. Subject T has a poor social adjustment in school in terms of interacting with his friends in class. Meanwhile, subject M has poor social adjustment in school in terms of following lessons in class, completing school assignments, interacting with friends, and attending school. School environment factors and parenting patterns are considered very influential on the good or bad social adjustment in school in the three subjects. Abstract

Retinoblastoma is a malignant tumor disease of intraocular children. Retinoblastoma is caused by hereditary or non-hereditary factors. The general incidence of retinoblastoma is 1 in 15,000 births. Overall, more than two-thirds of retinoblastoma patients have unilateral tumors, the remainder have bilateral tumors. In Indonesia, the epidemiology of retinoblastoma is not known with certainty due to the lack of related research reports in the Indonesian population. The most common clinical presentation is leukocoria, followed by strabismus, pseudohypopyon, hyphema, orbital cellulitis, and vitreous hemorrhage. Aim. The purpose of this study was to determine the complete profile of retinoblastoma patients at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital in 2014-2017. Method. This research was designed in the form of a descriptive study with a retrospective research design. This research was conducted at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital. The population studied were retinoblastoma patients who were hospitalized at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital and the sample used was total sampling. The data collection method was carried out by collecting secondary data, namely medical records for the period January 2014 – July 2017, then processed with SPSS for Windows. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with frequency analysis. Results. The results showed that the incidence of retinoblastoma patients in the 2014-2017 period was 48 people, the 2-3 year age group was the largest age group (39.6%), good nutritional status was the largest group (52.1%), the most tumors were unilateral tumors. (91.7%)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of brand trust and brand image partially or simultaneously on consumer loyalty in buying online products at Lazada Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach by taking 230 female consumers who were selected as research samples through incidental sampling techniques in the city of Medan. The data was collected through a brand trust scale based on Keller's theory (1993), a brand image scale based on Kotler & Keller's theory (2009) and a consumer loyalty scale based on Griffin's theory (2001).The results showed that brand trust partially had a significant positive effect on consumer loyalty in buying online products at Lazada Indonesia (t=5.751; P=0.000; b=0.412); and brand image partially has a significant positive effect on consumer loyalty in buying online products at Lazada Indonesia (t=7,518; P=0,000; b=0,398); and brand trust and brand image simultaneously have a significant positive effect on consumer loyalty in buying online products at Lazada Indonesia (F=166.798; P=0.000; R=0.771; R2=0.592).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the type of threat perception felt by ethnic Chinese traders after the burning of 4 Vihara 7 Temples and Social Houses in Tanjungbalai. This study used a descriptive quantitative method with 550 research subjects with a scale built based on the type of threat perception in theory Intergroup Threat Theory (ITT) by Stephan (2009). The results of the analysis show that ethnic Chinese traders perceive the symbolic threat perception type more than the realistic threat perception type, this shows that ethnic Chinese traders do not feel a threat to their resources but rather threat to values, beliefs or morals. The implication of this research is that it can help ethnic Chinese traders to reduce the perception of threats against the non-Chinese ethnicity so as to make them feel more secure with their identity as ethnic Chinese and to worship at the temple or temple.

Abstract

Verbal creativity is the ability that is expressed verbally, based on data or information that comes from the many answers to problems, which lie in the quantity, effectiveness, and diversity of answers (Munandar, 1985). Increasing verbal creativity can be done through music that prioritizes verbal techniques. This type of music is rap music. This study aims to determine the effect of rap music on verbal creativity in adolescents. The hypothesis proposed is that there is an effect of rap music on verbal creativity in adolescents. The subjects of this study were students of class X and class XI SMA Negeri 16 Medan as many as 28 people. To obtain the data used Verbal Creativity Test from Munandar. Data analysis used non-parametric statistical test, namely the Mann Whitney Test. The results show (1) There is an effect of rap music on verbal creativity which is indicated by a significant value of .000 < .05 with the median value of the experimental group (Mdn = 4) being higher than the control group (Mdn = -1). (2) The resulting effect is 43.56% and is classified as large. From these results it can be concluded that rap music has an influence on verbal creativity in adolescents.

Abstract

The use of the car as a means of driving, Comfort, safety, and performance is the goal of the car design parameters. Tires are an important part that greatly affects the stability and performance of the vehicle. Because the tire is the only part of the vehicle that is directly related to the road surface. Both of them must be integrated to each other to get comfort, and good performance and safe when driving. Computerized simulation of mechanical dynamics is a useful tool to understand various processes of the occur on tires and roads. The simulation is conducted on radial tire type 195 / R 7514 tread block pattern and asphalt material as the path of road surface at the condition of car speeding with speed 0-50 km/h. Simulation condition is limited on constant loading, and the air pressure in the tire variation 28 Psi, 30 Psi, 32 Psi, 34 Psi, and 36 psi. Simulation data, the value of deflection and vibration is the biggest factor of damage and wear of tires and roads. And 30 Psi is the most appropriate tire pressure.

This study investigates the dynamics of forgiveness to the victims of dating violence. Forgiveness is an intraphysical process to release unforgiveness but not the same as conflicts resolution (Worthington and Wade, 1999). The research method using qualitative research with purposive sampling technique with two respondents. The result of this study found that both respondents experienced dissonance with different dynamics before forgiveness. The dissonance that occurred in the first respondent was caused by the fear of being abandoned but did not want to continue being entangled in the sexual abuse condition so as to try to find out the living conditions of people who had experienced sexual abuse and chose forgiveness for their conditions. Dissonance experienced by respondent II when she was angry with transgression I but transgressor I tried to apologize and want to change. But re-enslaved cycle conditions forgiveness back after choosing end with conditions forgiveness on the first dating violence. Respondent I chose decisional forgiveness and respondent II chose emotional forgiveness.

This research uses quantitative approach with simple regression analysis technique with 100 research sample of Moslem society in Medan city which has never been saving in shari'ah bank. The measurement tool used is the scale of religiosity compiled based on Glock & Stark's religiosity dimension (2001) and the scale of savings intention based on the intention theory of Fishbein & Ajzen (1975). The result of the research shows that there is a positive influence of religiosity on the intention of saving in shari'ah bank in Medan city, which means null hypothesis (Ho) rejected, meaning there is influence of religiosity to the intention of saving at syari bank 'ah in Medan city.
