Abstract

Insilico study of anticancer bioactivity in oil of “buah wali” [Brucea javanica (L.) Merr] has been successfully carried out. “Buah Wali” (Brucea javanica (L.) Merr) is known to treat various diseases such as diabetes, diarrhea, and malaria. In addition, “buah wali” seeds are supported to have antidiabetic, antioxidant, and anticancer activities. The stages of the study began by taking a sample of “buah wali”seeds, then extracted to get oil of “buah wali”. While GC-MS analysis resulted Octadec-9-enoic acid (56.25%), palmitic acid (13.82%), stearic acid (10.57%), and acids -9-octadecanoate (5.91%) were found as the major components of the seed oil. Based on these compounds, docking molecular was carried out to find anticancer bioactivity. The results obtained are compounds that have lower binding energy than the native ligands [Octadec-9-enoic acid (-72.4518), hexadecanoic acid (-70.2136), octadecanoic (-72.2362).

Abstract

Duwet fruit (Syzygium cumini) is a local Indonesian fruit that has many benefits. Duwet juice contains antioxidants that have DPPH free radical activity. But the use of duwet fruit is not practical for modern society. This research was conducted to formulate duwet juice into a gel-based carbopol 940 with the physical quality test of the gel. Duwet fruit extraction was tested for phytochemical screening qualitatively. The gel is made in 5 formulas namely I (100% aquadest: 0% ethanol 70%); II (75% aquadest: 25% ethanol 70%); III (50% aquadest: 50% ethanol 70%); IV (25% aquadest: 75% ethanol 70%); and V (0% aquadest: 100% ethanol 70%). The results showed that Duwet juice contained of flavonoid, polyphenols, and anthocyanins based on phytochemical screening tests. The formula of gel I, II, and III has fulfilled the pH requirements of 4.5-6.5, homogeneity, and spread capacity of 5-7 cm. Increasing the concentration of 70% ethanol in the gel formula will increase the pH value and spread capacity.

Abstract

Saat ini banyak penelitian yang mengembangkan tanaman berkhasiat untuk pengobatan tradisional. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat tradisional adalah tanaman Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida L). Berdasarkan pengalaman empiris secara turun temurun banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat khususnya Jeneponto, Desa Bulusibatang untuk menyembuhkan luka baru. Di Desa Bulusibatang lebih dikenal dengan tanaman ampicillin (Daun Jarak cina). Pemanfaatan tanaman obat masih perlu terus digali dan dikembangkan berdasarkan penelitian dan pengkajian secara mendalam seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin melanjutkan penelitian dengan membuat sediaan farmasi untuk mempermudah penggunaannya secara topikal yaitu sediaan Gel ekstrak etanol Daun Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida L) untuk mengobati luka sayat pada tikus putih (Rattus novergecus). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Eksperimental Laboratorium yaitu Uji Efektivitas sediaan Gel ekstrak daun Jarak cina (Jatropha  multifida L) terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat pada Tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis statistic yaitu analysis of variance (ANOVA) untuk mengetahui rata-rata kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kontrol positif Bioplacenton lebih efektif dibandingkan kontrol negatif. Dan konsentrasi sediaan gel Ekstrak daun Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida) pada konsetrasi 15% yg paling efektif dalam penyembuhan luka sayat dibandingkan dengan konsetrasi 5% dan 10%.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the insulin and ACE Inhibitor therapy to patients with DM type 2 with hypertension, and giving a picture about the influence on the blood sugar control and blood pressure using the parameter of  fasting blood glucose, HbA1C, and blood pressure. The research was conducted in the  endocrine clinic  of DR. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital, Makassar,  from 2 May through 12 July, 2016. The research was a Cross-Sectional study with the samples chosen using the evhaustive sampling technique. The types of insulin and antihypertension class ACE inhibitor as revealed by the interviews with the patients. The therapy effects of pre and post interventions were analyzed using the parameter of glycemia, and HbA1C using  the pair sample T-test and blood pressure using Wilcoxon test. The research results indicated that the level of blood sugar after fasting was reduced to 64.08 and the level of HbA1C was reduced to 1.51 with the value of P = 0.000. The parameter of systolic and diastolic blood pressures had equal degradation of 12.56 and 12.32 respectively with value of P = 0.000, meaning P<0.05 in statistics.

Abstract

Preliminary research has been conducted on the antimicrobial activity of n-Butanol extract of forest honey (Apis nigrocincta). This study aims to determine the antimicrobial activity of forest honey from Selayar Regency on the growth of test microbes, using the method of solid dilution with the test microbial Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, Vibrio sp, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Candida albicans against n-butanol extract from forest honey (Apis nigrocincta) at 1 mg/ml. The results obtained showed that n-butanol extract inhibited the growth of bacteria Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Staphylococcus aureus. To estimate the compounds that provide antimicrobial activity, the TLC-Bioautography test is performed. Obtained the best results from the separation of compounds by TLC using Chlorophorom eluate: Acetone (3: 1). The TLC-Bioautographic test results showed that the spots with an Rf value of 0.29 gave activity to Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and gave positive results on the appearance of flavonoid compounds.

Abstract

Antiangiogenesis berdasarkan ekstrak etanol in vivo daun talas ( Colocasia esculenta L. Schott) dengan metode Chorio Allantoic Membrane (CAM). Angiogenesis adalah proses informasi kapiler baru yang terkandung dalam sistem vaskular. Daun talas ( Colocasia esculenta L.Schott) mengandung flavonoid yang diduga memiliki efek antiangiogenesis. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat potensi antiangiogenesis ekstrak etanol daun talas ( Colocasia esculenta L. Schott) dengan metode Chorio Allantois Membrane (CAM) dan menentukan konsentrasi ekstrak daun talas ( Colocasia esculenta L. Schott) yang berpotensi sebagai antiangiogenesis. The Antiangiogenesis Chorio Allantoic Membrane(CAM) menggunakan telur ayam berumur 9 hari. Penelitian membagi telur menjadi 4 kelompok, satu kelompok kontrol tanpa perlakuan dan 3 kelompok sebagai kontrol pengobatan. Kelompok kontrol diperlakukan dengan konsentrasi 1 ug / ml, 10 mg / ml dan 100 mg / ml. Telur diinkubasi selama 72 jam. Penelitian dilakukan dengan skor semiquantitatif pengamatan makroskopik. Pada kelompok kontrol yang tidak diberi perlakuan mendapat skor 5 dan kelompok perlakuan pada konsentrasi 1 ug / ml mendapat skor 5, konsentrasi 10 ug / ml mendapat skor 1 dan konsentrasi 100 ug / ml mendapat skor 0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi ekstrak yang diberikan Efek antiangiogenesis adalah pada konsentrasi 10 ug / ml dan 100 ug / ml dan konsentrasi ekstrak yang efektif menghambat antiangiogenesis pada konsentrasi 100 ug / ml. Abstract

Isolation of rhizosphere bacteria producing antimicrobial soil around the roots of the lime plant (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle). This study aims to obtain rhizosphere bacterial isolates originating from the soil around the roots of the Lime Plant (citrus aurantifolia Swingle) which can be used as antimicrobials. The research method was taken from the soil around the roots of the Lime plant and then diluted with dilutions of 10-1, 10-2, 10-3 to 10-5 dilution, then poured on NA media containing test microbes. The resulting isolates were then purified and coded JS-1, JS-2, JS-3. Microscopic examination results added 2 gram-negative bacterial isolates namely JS-1 and JS-3, while 1 gram-positive bacterial isolate was JS-2. The resulting isolate was then fermented with NB medium which produced supernatant and biomass, the supernatant was tested antimicrobial which produced active compounds of rhizosphere bacteria (JS-1 and JS-3) from the root soil of the Lime plant have the ability as an antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia Candida albicans coli and fungal test
