Abstract

Learning media in the form of instructional videos and PowerPoint are currently being developed. Previous researchers said that the two media were good for use in physics lessons, but between the two media it was not yet known which one was good for material on Newton's Law of Gravity, Work, and Energy. Based on the explanation above learning media is important so the researcher want to do a research which purpose to compare between the use of video and Powerpoint.This study aims to determine the differences on the student learning outcomes by applying the learning video and CTL-based PowerPoint on the Newton Gravity Law and Work Energy materials at Grade X SMA Adabiah 2 Padang. This type of research was a quasi-experimental research. The research design was the Random Posttest only Control-Group Design. The population of this research was the students Grade X. A purposive sampling technique was used to take the sample of this research. The sample of this research consisted of 2 classes. This research only focused on the aspects of cognitive and psychomotor. The assessment instruments were in the form of learning outcomes test sheets and observation sheets for the aspects of psychomotor. The data obtained were analyzed by using the t test. The results showed that the mean score of the students’ competence in the aspect of cognitive of the class which used CTL-based PowerPoint learning method was higher than the class using CTL-based learning videos by using the statistical t test. It was obtained  tcount= 2,1009 and ttable = 2,0032.  The mean score of the students’ competence in the aspect of psychomotor of the class of using PowerPoint was higher than the class using the learning video. Thus, it can be concluded that there are significant differences on the student learning outcomes using the learning video and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)-based PowerPoint of the science students Grade X of SMA Adabiah 2 Padang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Guided Inquiry Worksheets in Physics Learning. The method used was a meta-analysis that summarizes and analyzes research results that have been published nationally and internationally relating to the guided inquiry student worksheet towards learning Physics. The analysis sample was twenty journals published in the 2013-2020 range. Writing instruments in the form of coding sheets that summarize data and journal information. The results of this study are the guided inquiry LKS which is seen from the second level of effective education which is almost the same, namely 0.72 at the high school level and 0.73 at the high school vocational education level. Seen from the learning material, guided inquiry LKS is more effective on straight motion material, static fluid and vibration & sound waves with a high category. Judging from the dependent variable used, the effectiveness value with a high category is found in literacy skills, higher order thinking skills and student learning outcomes. This can be concluded that the inquiry LKS guided in physics learning is effectively used in the learning process.

Abstract

Based on the 2019’s UNBK value in indonesia, the physics value obtained for west sumatera is 47.5, that cualified as relatively low. And the result of the analysis of two physics textbook in senior high school in Padang city  using the inquiry indicator instrument is 47% wich can be categoried as low.  So, those textbook haven’t facilitated the learning inquiry. One solution can be done by making a constructivist-based physics modules in inquiry learning. This study purposed to determine thw validity and practicality of constructivist-based physics modules in inquiry learning on the subject matter of XI senior high school classes.This reasearch type is R&D (Research and Development) by Sugiyono in consisting 10 steps. R&D research steps include potential and problems, data collection, products design, product validation, product revisions, product trials, and product revisions. This research limited to product revisions after product trials (practicality). Tests conducted to see the feasability of the modules that have been designed that is validity and practicality tests. Validity test was conducted by 3 experts (validators) who did the assesments of the six components of the validation of the module that have been designed.The practicality test was by physics teachers (3 peoples) and students of class xi IPA in Padang city Senior High School (15 peoples).The validity test consists of six components, namely the content feasibility test, the construction feasibility, the feasability of inquiry, the feasability of the language, the appearance of the module, and feasability of the constructivist, with an overall average of 82% in the very valid category. Practicality test obtained from the teachers response to the six practical indicators, namely the contents of the module, the performance of the module, the convenience of the module, benefit of the module, the presentation of the inquiry components and the construvtivist componen with an overall average of 81% in the very practical category. Whereas students responses to the six indicators of practicality with an overall average of 85% which categorized as very practical. So, constructivist-based physics modules in inquiry learning are in the very valid and very practical categories so they can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum demands the use of ICT-based media and diverse learning resources. Everyday events, textbooks, teachers, modules, worksheets, videos, and other learning resources can be chosen by the teacher as a learning resource. The fact found in the field, that the learning resources used are textbooks and do not use everyday contexts. E-modules can represent ICT and independent learning materials. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in student learning outcomes using the E-module based CTL with physics textbooks at SMAN 2 Padang. This type of research used is a quasi-experimental research design with Randomized Posstest Only Control Group Design research. The population in this study were all students of Class X Science in SMA Negeri 2 Padang who were registered in the 2019/2020 school year. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study there are 2 classes, namely experimental class I and experimental class II with a total of 36 students each. Data in this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics. By conducting a normality test and a homogeneity test it is evident that the data of both groups are normally distributed and both are homogeneous. Tests of similarity of two averages for all aspects of learning outcomes, carried out at the real level of 0.05 and degrees of freedom to 70. The results of cognitive calculation tcount = 3.8966 while ttable = 1.9900, for affective aspects tcount = 4.694 and ttable = 1.9900 and for psychomotor aspects thitung = 2.9056 while table = 1.9900. From the three aspects obtained t count> t table. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded, that the learning outcomes of students taught using E-modules based on CTL are better than students who are taught using textbooks.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increase the activities and learning outcomes of physics in class XII IPA 5 SMAN 7 Padang, using an integrated Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model of Science  Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The method used is classroom action research, which consists of two cycles. The data collection instrument used observation sheets and test learning outcomes. Observation data were processed using percentage techniques and graphical analysis, while student learning outcomes were processed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of STEM integrated PBL learning models can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

In this 21st century, people are faced with an era of globalization that requires high thinking skills.  In line with the 2013 curriculum, teachers are required to carry out HOTS-based learning.  Factors that determine students can think at a high level are the teacher, students, learning models and teaching materials used.  One of the teaching materials used by teachers is student worksheets (LKS). The results of preliminary observations, it was found that the ability of HOTS students is still low based on the analysis of the results of the UAS grade XI semeseter 1 SMA in Padang.  In addition, the LKS used in West Sumatra is diverse and the availability of HOTS is unknown.  Therefore, research on the analysis of the availability of HOTS on Worksheets for Class XI Students Semester 1. The purpose of the study was to determine the availability of HOTS on the Physics Worksheets for Class XI High School Students Semester 1.This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach.  The population data in this study were all physics textbooks for class XI in semester 1 used by 23 schools in West Sumatra.  Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The data in this study were taken using LKS presentation analysis instruments and data collection techniques through documentation studies.Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the analysis conducted on the availability of HOTS on the Physics Worksheet for Class XI High School Students Semester 1 related to the availability of HOTS components shows that the LKS who obtained the percentage of indicators on the highest HOTS component is the LKS SMA I 28.80%  in the HOTS Less Available category.  Whereas the Physics Worksheet that got the lowest percentage of indicators on the HOTS component, namely the 19.69% SMA IV LKS, was in the HOTS Unavailable category.

Abstract

There are many efforts to ge improvement on student’s learning outcomes. For instance by using teaching material and learning model choosing appropriately. So, it can increase the student’s learning activity. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of using LKPD scientific based into discovery learning model towards the result of student’s study science at eight grade students of SMPN 30 Padang. This research categorized as Quasi Experimental with randomized control group only design. The population that is used was all of the eight grade students on academic year 2018/2019. The sample is considered by purposive sampling technique. The data of knowledge and skill competencies achievement obtained by performances assesment sheet. The data of knowledge and skill compeencies achievement analyzed by similarituly of two average test. The result of this sudy showed that the using of LKPD scientific based into discovery learning model influential owards the student’s science learning outcomes at eight grade students of SMPN 30 Padang in knowledge and skill competencies. It can be seen on the acquisition score of experimental class is better than control class.

Abstract

One of the characteristics of learning materials in secondary schools in accordance with the 2013 curriculum is referring to the Revised Bloom Taxonomy, in the form of 6 levels of cognitive processes. The issues that are the focus of this discussion are: Do the main teaching materials used in high school physics lessons in Padang meet these requirements? This research is a descriptive study with an explorative approach, in which this study provides a report on the object under study in accordance with the facts found and is associated with 6 levels of cognitive processes according to Bloom's revised taxonomy on teaching materials for class X Semester 2 used in physics learning High school in Padang. Data processing is done by percentage techniques. The results showed that in studying Newton's laws of motion material in the city of Padang: a) the proportion of the average percentage of the level of cognitive processes that were trained in teaching materials for each ability level was; considering 7.03%, understanding 7.03%, applying 57.40%, analyzing 20.07%, evaluating 0% and creating 0%. b) the proportion of the average percentage of implementation of the scientific approach trained in teaching materials for each level are: observing 13%, asking 15%, gathering information 8%, reasoning 0%, communicating 7%. This study concludes that the results of the analysis of basic teaching materials used in public high schools in Padang a) have not trained all levels of cognitive processes mandated by the revised Bloom taxonomy. b) scientific approach in teaching materials has not been fully implemented properly. c) the characteristics of teaching materials needed for physics learning are teaching materials that are able to: develop students' reasoning abilities; and oriented towards achieving HOTS.

Abstract

Student’s learning achievement in Physics especially aspects of skills are not optimal because they are less involved  in the learning process and they are less able to collaborate. Besides of that, teaching materials used in learning is still not diverse and not yet fully used . Therefore, researchers use the LKPD in the Cooperative Think Talk Write type as an alternative in improving student’s collaborative skill. This research is aimed to determine the effect of  using LKPD in the Cooperative Model Think Talk Write Type Against the Improving of Collaboration Skills in 10th Grade Students of SMAN 1 Pariaman. This research is using a quasi-experimental design with a randomized control group only design. The populations were students in X MIPA 1 - X MIPA 5 that were taught by the same teacher with the same teaching hours at SMAN 1 Pariaman and registered in 2019/2020. Researcher used purposive sampling technique. Collaboration skills were used as a data research. Instrument of this research a performance assessment sheet. The data were analyzed by two average similarity tests. The results showed the average value of Physics learning for the collaboration skills competence in the experimental class is 80.06 and  the control class is 68.90. The conclusion of the research is there is a significant influence from the use of LKPD in the Cooperative Model Think Talk Write Type towards the Improvement of Collaboration Skills in 10th Grade Students of SMAN 1 Pariaman

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning models in physics learning. The method used is a meta-analysis that summarizes and analyzes research results that have been published nationally and internationally relating to the guided inquiry model in physics learning. The analysis sample was twenty-six journals published in the last 10 years. Writing instruments in the form of sheets coding that encapsulate data and journal information. The results of this study are the guided inquiry learning model based on the level of education are both effectively used both at the senior high school level and junior high school level withcategories effect size large. Viewed from the learning material, the guided inquiry learning model is more effectively used in sound resonance material. Meanwhile, based on the dependent variable used, the value of effectiveness with a high category is found inabilities Higher Order thinking Skills students'(HOTS). Then it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning model on physics learning is very effective to be used in supporting the learning process especially the ability of Higher Order thinking Skills (HOTS) students.
