Pillar of Physics Education: International Journal on Physics Education is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, published by Universitas Negeri Padang, which is dedicated to intercharge for the results of high-quality in all aspect of physics education. The editors welcome submissions of papers describing recent theoretical and experimental research related to: (1) learning outcome of physics, (2) Learning materials of physics, (3) Learning and teaching theories and models of physics, (4) Learning and teaching strategies and methods of physics, (5) Learning assessment and evaluation of physics, (6) The use of ict and media in learning of physics, (7) Learning management of physics, (8) Research and development in learning of physics, (9) Experimental methods in learning of physics, (10) Action research of learning of physics. The Pillar of Physics Education follows the open access policy that allows the published articles freely available online without any subscription. Education is a fundamental foundation for human life. In every educational development, there is always a change in the curriculum. The 2013 curriculum requires HOTS-based learning. In the 2013 curriculum, students must practice thinking skills at the HOTS level by giving HOTS questions. Because, the teacher must provide students with HOTS questions. The observations show that the questions used in Senior High Schools throughout West Pasaman District are still in the low category and do not meet the excellent proportion of questions. Therefore, an indicator analysis research was carried out on Physics questions for SMAN in West Pasaman District. This research includes descriptive research is includes in the qualitative approach. With population of this research is about Midterm Exam and Semester Exam Senior High Schools in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 in semesters 1 and 2 in West Pasaman District. The research data was taken using an analytical instrument of question presentation and data collection with proof of questions. From the research has been done, it was found that the questions that have the highest availability of HOTS indicators for Semester Exam between 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 are in class XI and XII Semester Exam in 2018/2019 while in class X, namely in 2019/2020. As for the Midterm Exam in using the HOTS questions, the highest is Senior High School 1 Pasaman, and the lowest is Senior High School 1 Gunung Tuleh. Based on the research that has been done, it is found that these questions do not meet the availability of HOTS questions.

Indonesia is a country that often experiences natural disasters. Disaster mitigation efforts that must be done is to add knowledge and understanding of disasters through education. Appropriate subjects to be integrated with disaster material are Physics subjects. Physics learning integrated with Tsunami material is well suited to be applied in Indonesia, especially in the West Sumatra region. The implementation of the 2013 curriculum depends on the implementation of the Content Standards which provide a gap to integrate Physics material with the Tsunami material and the Standards for Facilities and Infrastructure, namely textbooks. There is a need to develop textbooks that are integrated with Tsunami material. But before integrating Tsunami material with Physics material, there needs to be an analysis to see the Physics material that is suitable to be integrated with Tsunami material. This study aims to determine the level of compatibility of Physics material in high school / MA class X physics textbooks with Tsunami material. This type of research is a descriptive study. The population in this study were all textbooks for Class X High School Physics Physics published in Indonesia. The sample in this study was the 2016 revised edition of the X grade high school physics textbook published by Erlangga. The data in this study were taken using assessment instruments and data collection techniques through documentation studies.The findings of this study indicate that the level of compatibility of Physics material with Tsunami material in Physics textbooks for SMA / MA class X semester 1 for KD 3.1 is not suitable (27%), KD 3.2 is not suitable (27%), KD 3.3 is suitable kurag (33%) , KD 3.4 is quite suitable (53%), KD 3.5 is not suitable (20%) and KD 3.6 is not appropriate (20%). The level of suitability of Physics material with Tsunami material in the Physics textbook of SMA / MA class X semester 2 for KD 3.7 is quite appropriate (47%), KD 3.8 is less appropriate (27%), KD 3.9 is quite appropriate (47%), KD 3.10 is quite appropriate (60%), and KD 3.11 are not appropriate (20%).

Government’s effort to develop character education is by integrating it into a lesson. Physics is one of lesson that can develop student’s character. Integrating character value into a lesson needs a teaching material which is integrated by character value. The existing learning material has not entered the character value directly. The aim of this research is to produce a physics learning material which is integrated Al-Quran’s character value that practical, valid, and effective. The object of Research and Development (R&D) are physics learning material which is integrated Al-Quran’s character value and students of XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 7 Padang. Research instruments are consists of instrument of validity, instrument of practicality, and students learning outcome. Analysis technique of product and data are technique of describing, analysis statistical descriptive, and comparable analysis of correlation. Based on data analysis, the result of research shown that teaching material of Physics which is integrated Al-Quran’s character value are valid, practical, and effective to use in Physics learning. In 2013 curriculum contains four types of core competencies. The core competencies include spiritual attitudes, social attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Competence of social attitudes is an important aspect which needed to develop in teaching materials of physics. The purpose of this research was to determine the practicality and the effectiveness of physics teaching materials with the content of social intelligence values on teaching matter of vector addition and linear motion. The type of this research was Research and Development (R & D). The development method which used was Sugiyono R & D model. The object of this research was the teaching material with the content of social intelligence values that was tested to grade X students in SMA Adabiah Padang. The instruments which that used in this research were practicality test sheet and effectiveness test sheet. The form of the effectiveness test sheet were test result sheet and attitude assessment sheet. Data analysis techniques which used were descriptive statistics analysis and comparative test of one group of sample. Based on data analysis, there were two results of this research. First, the use of teaching material with the content of social intelligence values was practice according to physics teachers and students were 91.1 and 76.2 respectively. Second, the use of teaching material with the content of social intelligence values was effective in scientific approach to improve knowledge and attitudes competence of students.

One of factor causes low learning outcomes is using of students learning materials that do not support the achievement all the competence such as spiritual attitude, social attitude, knowledge, and skills. The purpose of this research were to determine the competency of the Physics students and to investigate the effect handout containing comprehensive intelligence in problem-based learning model to the competency of Physics students grade X at SMAN 10 Padang. Type of research was quasi experimental research with randomized control group only design. The population of this research were students grade X MIA SMAN 10 Padang who were registered in the 2015/2016 academic year. Sampling technique was purposive sampling continued with cluster random sampling. There were three instruments in this research, those are observation sheet of attitude domain, test sheet of knowledge domain and rating scale of skill domain, Based on the data analysis could be presented the result of this research. using handout containing comprehensive intelligence has given significant effect toward Physics competency of students grade X SMAN 10 Padang with 0,05 signification level

In the 21st century, the ability to collaborate is one of the competencies to be achieved through learning. Therefore, that ability must be applied in schools. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of collaborative strategy in physics learning to the achievement of student learning outcomes in high school which was carried out in class X SMAN 12 Padang in the odd semester of the academic year 2019/2020. This research belongs to the Quasi Experiment Research with the Posttest Only Control Group Design. As the study population were all students of class X IPA SMAN 12 Padang. The sampling technique is Porposive Sampling followed by Cluster Random Sampling and obtained class X IPA 1 as an experimental class and class X IPA 2 as a control class. Research data in the form of student learning outcomes data obtained through instruments in the form of posttest on aspects of knowledge. The instrument used has fulfilled its validity and reliability through trials. The results showed that the posttest mean score of the experimental class was 68.82 higher than the posttest mean value of the control class that was 61.59. T test results at alpha level of 5% showed that the value of t count (4.09) > t table (1.99), so it was concluded that the difference in value was due to differences in treatment.

Learning in Education Unit Level Curriculum requires the innovative teaching materials to increase student competence. An alternative way to get it is student worksheet oriented multiple intelligences model. The goal of research is to detect student worksheet oriented model of multiple intelligences influence towards the student competence of the 11th grade in SMAN 2 Padang. This research is a quasi-experimental with Randomized Control Group Only Design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The result of research show that students learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains respectively 81.28, 73.90, and 84.10. The use of student worksheet oriented multiple intelligences model has a significant impact on the physics students competence in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains

This research is based on the low science literacy of student and the teaching materials used in the lessons have not facilitated the students to increase their science literacy. The purpose of this study was to develop inquiry-based physics teaching materials and to determine the validity of inquiry-based physics-based materials on newton's law materials about motion and gravity to increase the science literacy of high school students of class X. The type of research used Research and development (R & D) research steps: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, product trials and product revisions. While the data analysis used is descriptive data analysis. The instrument used is validation sheet that has been validated by experts. Based on the results of validation by experts, the instruments used are at very valid criteria with an average value of 90.83.The results obtained consist of 2 results. First, generated inquiry-based teaching materials. Second, the results of the validation analysis show that the resultant inquiry-based teaching materials are at a very valid level with a value of 82.78.

Indonesia is famous as one of the countries prone to natural disasters. The negative impact is the loss of lives and property so that it becomes a very crucial problem in Indonesia. On the other side, this natural disaster can be used as a learning resource that is utilized. This disaster literacy is expected to be present in every learning resource that is designed as teaching material at each level of the education unit. therefore, it is necessary to know the extent to which disaster literacy has been contained in teaching materials that have been used by students in schools. The purpose of this research was to determine the feasibility of five books of IX grade 2 ninth grade junior high school in terms of disaster literacy. This research is a descriptive research that obtained data through a questionnaire. This research is focused on analyzing the components of knowledge about disasters which are broken down into five research indicators. From each indicator, an average score of five E-books is obtained and expressed as a percentage and displayed graphically. The results of this research indicate that of the five E-books analyzed, E-books 4 and E-books 5 are in the range of percentages between 55% to 65% so that they are categorized quite well, while E-books 1, E-books 2 and E-books book 3 is in the range of 40% to 54% so that it is categorized as not good.

Some of the skills needed in the 21st century include: the ability to think critically, collaboration and leadership, and have high curiosity. These skills must be prepared by all government agencies and the education environment. In the field of education, specifically in high school, one struggle that can be done is to provide learning resources that are relevant to learning models that are also relevant. Like providing edupark physics books as a source of physics learning for high school. Edupark books have advantages compared to textbooks that are available in general. Therefore a study was conducted to find out the differences between students' knowledge between the application of edupark books and textbooks in schools. The learning model applied to both pf grade is discovery learning. This research was conducted in Class XI of SMAN 2 Padang Panjang in the 2019/2020 school year odd semester on fluid material. The research data consisted of the assessment of posestest scores between 2 classes who requested different textbooks. At a significant level of 0.05, there are significant differences in student physics learning outcomes from aspects of knowledge competence. Based on data analysis on knowledge competency through posttest, experimental class 1 has an average value of 82.5 and experimental class 2 is 76.1. Classes that use the physics edupark book MiFan Water Park Padang Panjang have a higher value of knowledge competence than classes that use textbooks used in schools.
