Abstract

Eucheuma spinosum is a potential algal producing carrageenan in Indonesia. The aim of this resaerach is to define characteristic of carrageenanproduced by the algae harvested from Sumenep waters Madura. The carrageenanwas extracted in 1 : 50 value of Ca(OH)2 at 90-950C for 3 hours. The extract wasprecipated in 1:1 volume of 96% etanol, dried and graund. Parameters taste wereyields, moisture, sulfat, ash, acid insoluble ash, gel strenght, viscocity andmoleculer structure. The result indicated that the yield, moisture, sulphat, ash, acidinsolube ash, gel strenght, viscocity and muscular structure was 34.85%, 11.09 %,ash content 26.32 %, acid insoluble ash 0.3%, kadar sulfat content 27.76%, gelstrenght 43.70 gf respectually. The carrageenan was found to have virtuallyidentical FTIR of iota-karagenan

Abstract

Research was conducted from October to December 2017, at the labory Examination of Fish Disease, Fisheries and Marine Faculty of Universitas Riau. The Purpose of this study was to determine the sensitivity of harumanis mango seed (Mangifera indica L) as antimicrobial to A. hydrophila, the range of Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and the lethal dose (LD50) harumanis manggo seed (M. indica L) solution against to catfish (Pangasius pangasius) (7-9 cm) by immersion. The research method used doses; D1: 100%; D2: 90%; D3: 80%; D4: 70%; D5: 60%; D6: 50%; D7: 40%; D8: 30%; D9: 20% D10: 10%, and K : Control (Oxytetracyclin). The results showed that mango seed solution was sensitive to A. hydrophila bacteri and was able to inhibit A. hydrophila up to 0.09% dose with inhibit zone of 7.31 mm. Minimum Inhibitory Concetrantion (MIC) is 0.1% (1000 ppm) number of colonies 270.66 CFU/ mL.The dose of LD50 is 2115,85 ppm

Abstract

This research described the application of emergy analysis to evaluate the sustainabil-ity of small scale fisheries activities. An advantage of emergy analysis is the ability to quantify environmental and economic inputs and outputs on a common basis. In this study, we con-structed emergy accounts for the small scale Fisheries activities in Cilacap District. The result of EYR value indicates that small-scale fishing activities do not contribute to the balanced de-velopment of regional economy. The value of the ELR is very high, showing the large number of small-scale fishermen to the intensity of the use of fishing gear. The comparison between the results of the emergy environmental burden (ESI) fishing activities by small-scale fisher-men in Cilacap regency potentially unsustainable.

Abstract

This research was conducted on December 2008 to January 2009 atMalacca strait waters. Purpose of this research to determine potential coastal zonefor stow net fishing ground. This research was used survey method, which toobserve and measure fishing ground parameters, such as current speed, depth andwater transparency. All of the data was analyzed descriptively, which discussedsystematically on the study location. At every parameter data was analyzed byGIS technology spatially with overlay index model method. Based on the dataanalyzed can determine the potential fishing ground as very potential, potentialand impotential.

Abstract

The research was conducted on January 2015, in the waters of the Sungai Bela Estuary,Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The research purposed was to define the habitatcharacteristics, vertical distribution, and analysis of correlation between habitat parameters andabundance of windowpane oyster (Placuna placenta). There were 4 stations and each stationdivided into 3 sampling points based on the depth, they were <2 meter, 2–4 meter, and >4meters. Results shown that good habitat characteristics for windowpane oyster was ontemperature of 27.77 0C, Total Suspended Solid on 24.33 mg/L, current speed on 0.02 m/s, pHon 7.87, salinity on 20.60/00, DO on 7.63 mg/L, BOD on 4.17 mg/L, Nitrate on 0.07 mg/L,phosphate on 0.05 mg/L, and organic on 30.07%. The highest abundance of windowpane oysterwas on station 4 (11.000 Ind/Ha). While in vertical term, the highest abundance was at <2meter depth. The distribution pattern of windowpane oyster was evenly at station 1 andclumped in station 2, 3 and 4. Result of correlation abundance of windowpane oyster effect oncurrent speed was r= -0.711, pH was r= 0.649, the abundance of phytoplankton was r= 0.688,and mud substrate was r= 0.535.

Abstract

This research was conducted in October 2017 by taking samples from Tanjung Berlian and Gading Sari coastal waters of Kundur Island, Karimun Regency, Kepulauan Riau Province. This study aims to analyze the heavy metal content of Cu, Cr and Zn on C. Montagnei, to analyze the relationship of heavy metal content with snail size, to evaluate the level of pollution status of Kundur Island waters and to estimate the safety level of snail consumption by human. The metal content on the small size of the snail is larger than the larger size. The average content of Cu in Station 1 was found in small size (1.3877 μg/g), medium size (1,0783 μg/g) and large size (1.6100 μg/g), whilst in Station 2 was found as follow: large size with an average of 1.4417 μg/g. Cr content in Station 1 for small size (5.0383 μg/g), medium size (1.4850 μg/g) and large size (3.0950 μg/g). Snail in Station 2 was only found at Station 2 (1.9517 μg/g). Zn content in small size of snail was in Station 1 (117,4500 μg/g), medium size (122,5200 μg/g) and large size (115,9200 μg/g). Meanwhile, Zn content in snail at Station 2 was 104.7283 μg/g in large size.

Abstract

Research about content of heavy metals in various fish species have been done inBatang Toru River, Aek Pahu Tombak and Aek Pahu Hutamosu district South Tapanuliin March-April 2013. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of heavymetals that accumulate in the body of fish and the water, and to determine the waterquality of River Batang Toru, Aek Pahu Tombak and Aek Pahu Hutamosu. The methodfor determining the location of sampling for fish sample is "Purposive RandomSampling" in 6 (six) observation stations. Analysis of heavy metal analyzed on fishmeat and water using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric (AAS). The resultsshowed that the content of heavy metal in fish body didn’t exceeded the qualitystandard by SNI/7387/2009. Content of heavy metals accumulated in the water didn’texceeded the quality standard based on Regulation No.82 of 2001. Aek Pahu TombakRiver has a very good quality of water but Batang Toru River and Aek Pahu Hutamosuhave a good quality of water.
