Abstract

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system use multiple transmit and receive antennas to increase data rate without expanding bandwidth. The combination of MIMO system with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) can provide greater throughput and provide the quality of high-speed information in real time. Multi antenna in MIMO system cause large power consumption. The latest technology in antenna system to overcome high power consumption is antenna based on single Radio Frequency (RF). The antenna system with single RF energy that can minimize lower cost. In this research, the MIMO-OFDM system uses channel coding that can avoid noise is convolutional coding. We evaluate the performance of MIMO-OFDM system for single RF antennas by creating a simulation program computers. The simulation demonstrate that MIMO-OFDM system using single RF antenna and using convolutional coding with rate ¼ is better 7 dB than without convolutional coding. The result of this paper is performance of the system is expressed in the form of the curve of BER as a function of SNR.

Abstract

The problem of organic rice farming is the limitation of market information. Organic rice products can’t be sold at high prices, some are still sold by farmers at non-organic prices. Organic rice supply chain networks need to be identified by farmers so that farmers have market information and supply chain performance. For this reason, this research purpose to analyze the supply chain of organic rice in Pringsewu Regency. Data analysis method uses the concept of supply chain management performance with the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) approach. SCOR consists of four elements including reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, and assets. The results of measuring the performance of organic rice supply chains at all levels in the attributes of responsiveness and flexibility have achieved the superior performance position. The performance of organic rice supply chains attributes of asset at the farm level only achieves an advantage. But the supply chain performance in the attribute of reliability has not been able to reach a good performance position. So there needs to be an improvement effort through disciplinary shipping arrangements and product quality improvements to improve supply chain performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of banks ownership concentration on banking system stability in Indonesia. The bank ownership concentration is divided into 3 concentration levels, i.e. banks are concentrated in share of ownership: (1) <20%; (2) 20-50%; (3) >50%. While the banking system stability is measured by ZScore. The data are individual of 115 banks registered to Otoritas Jasa Keuangan from 2008 to 2017. By using panel data regression, it was found that banks with owners concentration on level 3 would make the banking system stable. However, banks with owners concentrated in levels 1 and 2 will make the financial system unstable.

Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to design and verification fixture for POLMAN Bandung bench vise 125 component, which reduces the using of machine tool and improve the product quantity at the lower time. The main components of POLMAN Bandung bench vise are moving jaw and fixed jaw. Machining of these two main components were done by using conventional machine with existing jigs and fixtures. Product quality and quantity do not meet current expectations so that the production process needs to be improved. This can be achieved by replacing conventional machines to CNC machine. Some steps taken to solve this problem are: (1) study the vise component, (2) study and observe the current machining, (3) study MH4BN CNC machine, (4) identifying the operator, (5) identifying requirements and production cost, (6) new design specification, (7) planning the cutting tools, (8) layout alternatives, (9) fixture concept design, (10) fixture design alternatives, (11) fixture verification, (12) fixture draft design, and (13) operation procedure. Based on this study, a fixture that can meet expectations is produced. The fixture can machine four components arranged in four positions which consisting of two moving jaws and two fixed jaws. The fixture’s size are 600x556x565 with 237 kg in weight. loading-unloading can be done at the same time of machining. The fixture is able to withstand machining forces. Contact stability of critical fixture components compared to product tolerance is still within the permissible limits. Machining the two main component of POLMAN bench vise decrease from 11.5 hours to 1.4 hours.

Abstract

Object detection via background modeling is important in preprocessing step before many video-based automatic vehicle analysis systems. Because it contributes high computational cost portion. Furthermore, it also results in high memory usage and creates a constraint in the classification process when it used in video streaming application. This paper provides a contemporary approach to vehicle detection and classification for highway traffic surveillance video. In this works, we are creating a system to detect the vehicles and automatically classifying them into three desired classes as Car, SUV, and Truck. The proposed approach combines Incremental Principle Component Pursuit (IPCP) background subtraction for vehicle detection via background subtraction method and it complies with Ensemble subspace -Nearest Neighbor (EsKNN) classifier. A combination of these methods is used to acquire optimal result in the feature extraction process by using HOG corner detection. IPCP works by modeled background one frame at a time while it is capable to adapt to changes in the background. With this characteristic, it is suitable for real-time processing background subtraction system. Then, the outcomes are classified using ensemble-based classifiers technique, a predictive based model with employs KNN as building blocks. The proposed method is evaluated using three datasets of common highway surveillance video using testing datasets, which obtained from changedetect.net. Comparing with other direct detection and classification technique our method has to achieve an outstanding result and delivers the accuracy of 96.5%, the highest among the tested methods.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the number of aluminum waste which is a problem that must be considered. there is also an increasing number of needs for aluminum from producers and consumers to be used as raw materials in making tools for everyday life which continue to increase every years. It is necessary to recycle aluminum waste to reduce waste problems and reduce the cost of making aluminum raw materials, one of them is the casting process. In the casting process, to note is the melting temperature is very important because it will affect the quality of the mechanical properties of aluminum produced by casting. From this reason, the formulation of the problem in this research is how the influence of the temperature variation of melting on the casting of aluminum waste on the hardness of aluminum from casting results. In this study the temperature variation for melting process was 660 ºC, 680 ºC, 700 ºC, 720 ºC, 740 ºC. After the melting temperature variations were carried out on casting aluminum waste, then the results of the specimens were tested for Rockwell hardness to determine the hardness value of casting aluminum from the melting temperature variation. The test results show that the melting temperature variations affect the hardness value of aluminum as evidenced by the analysis of the research data, indicating that an increase in melting temperature will reduce the hardness of aluminum. It is proven that on the highest melting temperature, 740 ºC which has the lowest hardness value, 98.9 RHB (Rockwell Hardness number type B) and the highest hardness value reaches 112.9 RHB with a melting temperature of 660 ºC.

Abstract

Tourist destinations in a city can certainly be a special attraction for tourists to visit the city. City Tourism has created a lot of profitable business activities, both for the government and the local community. However, if the number of tourist visits experienced a fluctuation, it will certainly disrupt the benefits of both parties. Meanwhile, the image and destination quality are important factors that have been widely studied in influencing tourist satisfaction and loyalty. This study examines the relationship between these factors. The questionnaires were distributed to tourists who have visited Bandung using a five-point Likert scale. Of the 430 questionnaires collected, 384 questionnaires were appropriate for further analysis. This study uses partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis to examine the interrelationship between factors. The results show that destination image variables have a significant direct influence on tourist satisfaction and loyalty. In addition, destination quality variables significantly affect tourist satisfaction. However, the destination quality variable does not have a direct influence on tourist loyalty. On the other hand. the tourist satisfaction variable has a direct influence on tourist loyalty. Finally, the relationship of each variable in this study can provide a new understanding for tourism service providers in improving city tourism attractions.
