Abstract

Geographically, Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate with quite extreme changes in weather, temperature and wind direction, making it very vulnerable to hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides. Disaster events have an impact on the physical and even psychological conditions of individuals, families and communities. Apart from that, disasters impact stress and traumatic experiences on their victims. One of the disaster management efforts is post-disaster recovery, including restoring the psychological condition of disaster survivors. First aid efforts can be given to physical and psychological problems so as not to cause trauma or prolonged psychological impacts. One way that can be done is Psychological first aid (PFA), which is a series of interventions to help overcome the mental health problems of someone experiencing a crisis due to a disaster. This intervention needs to be known and applied by disaster volunteers. The aim of this research is to determine the level of knowledge about Psychological First Aid among disaster volunteers. This research was conducted March – July 2023. The population used in this research were all disaster volunteers. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research results showed that 11 people (40.7%) had good knowledge and 16 people (59.3%) respondents had sufficient knowledge. These results show that the percentage between respondents with good knowledge and respondents with sufficient knowledge has a slight difference. This is influenced by several factors, namely education, age, gender, experience as a volunteer, and having attended PFA training. Looking at the existing results, PFA training is also a factor because following this training broadens the volunteers' insight regarding psychological first aid.

Abstract

Until now, stunting remains a global issue, as evidenced by its high prevalence rate of 21.9%. Stunting occurs in children and is characterized by a discrepancy between age and height, resulting from chronic malnutrition, ultimately hindering the physical and cognitive development of the child. This research aims to understand the prevalence of stunting in the Puskesmas Palemraya Service Area in Ogan Ilir Regency. It is a quantitative study using a descriptive approach with 655 respondents selected through total sampling techniques. Anthropometric measurements were taken to assess height, and birthdates were recorded in the Maternal and Child Health Book. Univariate data analysis was conducted to observe the frequency distribution of each variable. The research findings indicate that the majority of respondents were male (52.06%), aged 24- 59 months (61.53%), and the majority did not experience stunting (94.66%). The research concludes that 5.34% of children in the Puskesmas Palemraya Primary Service Area in Ogan Ilir Regency suffer from stunting, meeting the government's target for reducing stunting by 14%.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an infectious disease that is the main cause of mortality and morbidity in children under five years of age (toddlers). Mothers play an important role in determining the decisions and actions needed in caring for toddlers with ARI at home. Even though the ARI treatment given to toddlers from health service facilities is successful, if it is not treated further at home, the toddler will be at risk of experiencing ARI again, so mothers play an important role in caring for toddlers with ARI. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological design. The participants who participated in this research were 5 mothers who had toddlers with a history of ARI. The sampling technique used was snowball sampling. Data collection used the in-depth interview method to explore mothers' experiences in caring for toddlers with ARI. The data analysis used is Colaizzi data analysis. The results of this study identified 4 themes, namely actions taken by mothers to overcome the symptoms of ISPA, difficulties faced by mothers in caring for toddlers with ARI, children's responses when receiving treatment at home, and actions taken by mothers to prevent ARI. All nurses must participate in RCD at least once a week. This activity was performed between half an hour and an hour. Method: Qualitative method with action research approach, involving 8 participants until the end in the operating room with three stages namely assessment, implementation and evaluation. Each stage is a reflective process, namely Plan, Action, Observe and Reflect stages. Results: This study found several themes regarding supporting factors, namely stakeholder support, and Nurse motivation, while inhibiting factors were lack of socialization and time and lack of evaluation and supervision. Conclusion: RCD did occur at Ibnu Sina Hospital because of lack of knowledge and socialization. Besides that, supervision and evaluation also did not work. The Head Nurse and Hospital management department must ensure that RCD activities are running and scheduled, because this activity is very important to improve the professionalism of nurses in their work as well as efforts to encourage the development of performance management.
