Abstract

Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are major challenges in Indonesia. These two diseases are most often found in health services with a fairly high prevalence. It is important to do early detection of diabetes mellitus and hypertension in order to optimize management if detected and the public also needs to be educated so they understand the importance of having their health status checked. The importance of innovation in overcoming non-communicable disease problems in society with the aim of making people aware of the importance of hypertension and diabetes screening and monitoring of sufferers. The SI AdiT GerAH innovation is an innovation to control Non-Communicable Diseases with modifications such as cooking demonstrations and the involvement of cadres and families in monitoring people with diabetes and hypertension as well as the existence of stickers intended as a sign that the community must be aware of emergencies for sufferers.

Abstract

Nurses are the largest human resource in health services in hospitals, where nurses work 24 hours a day in rotation and continuously to provide comprehensive and professional nursing care and are ready to help patients at any time. In an effort to improve the quality of health services, nurses are required to provide the best service in the form of caring behavior or caring attitude towards others. Caring behavior given by nurses to clients can increase patient satisfaction, especially by incorporating Islamic values where Islamic values are rahmatan lil alamin or compassion for all beings regardless of race, ethnicity, nation, language and religion. RSU Yarsi Pontianak is an Islamic-based hospital in providing nursing care. In accordance with the hospital's vision "to become a hospital based on Islam with high-quality and international standard health services", Yarsi General Hospital prioritizes services that have Islamic values, especially in providing nursing care. The purpose of this community service is to increase nurses' knowledge of the application of Islamic caring at YARSI Pontianak General Hospital (RSU). Community service activities are carried out through several stages, namely the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. The results of the initial measurement of nurses' knowledge about Islamic caring found that most nurses had sufficient knowledge, namely 55%. Whereas after being given training on Islamic caring, most of the nurses had good knowledge, namely 80%. Training is an effective and efficient activity to increase nurses' knowledge about Islamic caring. Based on the results of community service, there was an increase in nurses' knowledge after being given Islamic caring training.

Abstract

Medan City is a part of North Sumatra Province. The prevalence of undernutrition and malnutrition in Medan City in 2013 was 19.3%, consisting of 4.2% of malnutrition and 15.1% of undernourished. This prevalence rate is close to the national figure, which is 19.6%. Meanwhile, based on the 2015 MDG's target, the prevalence of malnutrition and under-five children is 15.5%, this prevalence rate is included in the high category. The methods used in this community service are counseling, demonstrations and measurement of nutritional status. The result of the service is that counseling is carried out 3 times. It was carried out once at the Puskesmas Rugemuk Pantai Labu District. In the cooking demonstration, the material provided is the use of abundant ingredients from Rugemuk Village, such as sea fish, shrimp, squid into various foods that have high nutritional value and are of sale value. The processed food is in the form of fish nuggets. From the results of the intervention and observations made, there are several children in Rugemuk Village whose nutritional status is lacking. The conclusion in this service is that the intervention activities carried out to solve the problem are counseling to the community as well as data collection and measurement of height and weight in children. All activities went well and smoothly, counseling to the community as well as data collection and measurement of height and weight for children.

Abstract

Abstract  Acute respiratory infections are a major cause of infectious disease morbidity and mortality worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, about 4 million people died from acute respiratory infections, 98% of which were caused by lower respiratory tract infections. Infant, child and elderly mortality rates are very high, especially in low- and middle-income countries. efforts to control ARI through health promotion education activities or counseling. Education is carried out with the aim of increasing knowledge and even the community is expected to be able to improve health status. The method in this service activity uses educational methods or counseling based on lecture discussions about ARI. The targets in this activity are mothers who have babies and children. Health problem factors, namely the habit of burning garbage can cause air pollution that comes from burning smoke in the environment and smoking habits.

Abstract

Anemia is a public health problem in Indonesia that can be experienced by all age groups, from toddlers to the elderly. One of them is young women, where these young women are prone to anemia due to a lot of blood loss during menstruation, young women who are entering puberty experience rapid growth so that the need for iron also increases and there is an incorrect diet pattern in rhymes. Adolescent girls who suffer from anemia are also at risk of developing anemia during pregnancy. This will have a negative impact on the growth and development of the fetus in the womb and has the potential to cause complications during pregnancy and childbirth. The purpose of this activity is to screen for iron deficiency anemia in young women as a preventive measure for anemia in adolescents which can cause long-term adverse effects on adolescents.Screening for iron deficiency anemia in this activity was carried out through laboratory examination of panel iron levels, especially TIBC and Serum Iron examinations in young girls. The target for this activity is young women at Baitul Hikmah Tempurejo Vocational School. Screening begins with anamnesis and physical examination. If there are indications that lead to anemia, an iron panel examination (TIBC and serum iron) will be performed. The results obtained will be analyzed and consulted with the local regional health officer to get the right treatment

Abstract

Some parts of our society are having problems with handling medicine properly. One of the causes is not all people understand how to heal their sickness with many kinds of medicine. Various medicine-society related problems can be caused by people's lack of understanding about the use and handling of medicine correctly. One way to inform society how to manage medicine properly is to implement the DAGUSIBU (DApatkan, GUnakan, SImpan, BUang). Based on the information obtained, residents of the Candirenggo sub-district have never received information about DAGUSIBU. That’s why it is necessary to socialize DAGUSIBU in their community. The purpose of this activity is to make them understand and share information about the correct way to receive, apply, install and waste the medicines among their family and their neighbor. The method used in this activity is through socialization or lectures, interactive discussions., and the distribution of DAGUSIBU brochures. The dissemination about DAGUSIBU went smoothly. The participants who attended were very enthusiastic in listening to explanations and actively asked questions regarding the use of medicine and their treatment. This can support the realization of government programs in improving health services for the community. This socialization increases participants' understanding of drug management properly, from this socialization, the participants suggested to apply the knowledge gained to their family and community environment properly and correctly.

Abstract

SBAR handover for nurses is an indicator of the quality of hospital services. SBAR handover quality in nurses affects patient satisfaction, patient safety, and length of patient stay. In its implementation in the field, this method has not been widely used or has been used but has not been maximized, there needs to be focused training so that it can provide good quality SBAR handovers.This PKM aims to increase the knowledge and skills of nurses about SBAR Handover in the inpatient room one of the government hospitals in Bukittinggi city. The method used in this PKM includes dissemination of knowledge related to SBAR Communication during nurse handovers, socialization of SBAR Handover SOPs and Roleplay.  The results of this PKM obtained an increase in the knowledge and skills of nurses in carrying out SBAR Handovers, as well as the creation of SOPs for implementing Nurse Handovers with SBAR Communication. From the results of monitoring and evaluating PKM activities, it is known that nurses understand and are able to practice independently implementing the SBAR Handover in each shift. It is hoped that this activity can continue to be improved by inaugurating the SOP and supervision of the head of the room so that nurses are competent in SBAR Handover as an effort to improve the quality of health services in hospitals.

Abstract

Immunizations are mandatory for babies aged 0-9 months. Immunization is an attempt to actively induce or enhance a person's immunity to a disease or an attempt to provide immunity to infants and children by injecting vaccines into the body to stimulate the production of antibodies aimed at preventing certain diseases. Counseling is an activity of educating something to individuals or groups, providing knowledge, information and various abilities so that they can shape the attitudes and behavior of life that should be. In essence, counseling is a non-formal activity in order to change society towards a better condition as aspired to. The purpose of this counseling is to increase the awareness of mothers who have babies under five to carry out immunizations for their babies and toddlers. The methods used include lectures/delivery of material as well as questions and answers to support mothers' knowledge about immunization in infants and toddlers. The results of KKN activities are proven by the activeness of the participants in this activity, the implementation of the activities has been able to increase the mother's knowledge and is willing to give immunizations to her child.

Abstract

Immunization is an effort to increase a person's immunity against a disease. One of the things that influence someone to immunize is knowledge about immunization itself. This community empowerment aims to improve the knowledge and skills of cadres through making educational videos on health content related to immunization. Posyandu Anggrek Hitam is one of the posyandu located in Loa Bakung Village which has low immunization coverage. The method used in community empowerment is with education related to immunization and health promotion media. Then continued with training on scripting and video making of health content related to immunization. The results of this empowerment found that there was an increase in knowledge about immunization and health promotion media, as well as an increase in cadre skills related to script making and video content through making educational videos of health content related to immunization. After the community empowerment of these cadres, it is hoped that in the future cadres can be more operational in organizing posyandu in health promotion efforts using media for the community.

Abstract

Cases of Atypical Progressive Acute Kidney Injury (GGAPA) / (Atypical Progressive Acute Kidney Injury) in children continue to grow. The incidence of acute kidney failure in children is thought to be caused by some of the ingredients in the syrup preparations. The content of the drug syrup that is suspected of causing acute kidney failure is the syrup containing EG and DEG contaminants. Regarding the problems that occurred with the syrup preparations, observations were made of PKK women in Kasihan Hamlet RT 08, Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bantul, so that many women panicked excessively and did not want to use liquid preparations, including syrups, emulsions, suspensions and other liquid preparations because of the acute renal failure case. So that there is a need for education regarding DAGUSIBU for liquid dosage forms because, DAGUSIBU is a program to improve how to manage drugs properly and correctly, namely through information on how to obtain (DA), use (GU), store (SI) and dispose (BU). medication properly. DAGUSIBU is one of the applications of the Smart Community Movement on Drugs (Gema Careful) activities. The purpose of the service is to increase public knowledge, especially PKK women in Kasihan Hamlet, RT 08, Tamantirto, Bantul about DAGUSIBU, a syrup preparation drug. The direct counseling method is carried out through offline presentations using slides (power point). The results of community service show positive results. there was a significant increase in public knowledge, which can be seen from the percentage of scores obtained by the community, namely 86.67% and the percentage of posttest scores obtained by participants, namely 88.57%.
