Abstract

People of all ages, genders, socioeconomic conditions, origins, and races are impacted by the significant issue of body shaming. Overall appearance, social images (appearance-cued stereotyping, social implications of appearance stereotyping), developmental consequences of appearance for psychological adjustment, and body-self interactions may all be affected. This research looks at the lives of students who have been victims of body shaming; how it affects the victims' lives and well-being; the sorts of care they need; their everyday experiences in terms of education and their surroundings; and how to assist them in building a new positive outlook on life. The diverse statements and experiences of the five (5) students from Sultan Kudarat State University Laboratory High School who were purposefully selected and interviewed through Google Meet were analyzed using a qualitative case study approach. The study's participants go about their regular lives, absorbing every bit of criticism they encounter into their motivation and inspiration. Finally, the victims have not overlooked the need for life preservation and are aware of it. Many of them make every effort to realize them, even if it means putting their emotions on the line. As this research emphasizes the value of everyone’s life, it allows us to have a deeper understanding of students who are suffering from personal issues. Despite all that has occurred to them, they remain hopeful and prepared to take chances to achieve their objectives. As a result, it is recommended that the community learn more about body shaming.

Abstract

According to the Department of Health, diabetes is among the main causes of death among Filipinos. As a result, medical administrations must provide high-quality services. Patients, treatments, and particularly rural medical centers should all receive adequate screenings from the government. The goal of this study is to find out how satisfied diabetic patients are with the medical care they receive. Twenty-two (22) people with diabetes were included in the study. A survey will be utilized to gather information and data from a group of diabetic patients. The results show that: (1) there is no substantial difference in diabetic patients' satisfaction based on sex demographics; (2) there is no substantial difference in diabetic patients' satisfaction based on age demographics; (3) there is also no substantial difference in diabetic patients' satisfaction based on the establishment; and (4) there is a substantial difference between the patient's satisfaction and the medical services offered. When it comes to the score mean, diabetic patients' satisfactions are inside the extremely satisfied verbal description. The majority of the respondents were between the ages of 47 and 54. 12 females, 10 males, and 15 of them were in one medical establishment and the others were in the second. Despite their demographic differences, their satisfaction levels were quite close. Since there is a significant difference between the medical services dimension and the mean score of the overall medical structure and process is lower, there is a slight improvement for the medical establishments to focus on the medical structure and process, specifically the facilities, transportation convenience, and the length of waiting which the patients scored lower than the other parameters.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the causes, impacts, and varying perspectives of how two years of education can alter a person's ambitions. A qualitative research design, specifically the case study approach was used in this study. It focused on why the participants enrolled in a college program that was not aligned with their SHS Strand. The responses are subsequently transcribed and themes are identified. Students whose college courses do not correspond to their Senior High School strands have questioned their previous strand selection. This is due to difficulties they encountered as a result of the misalignment. According to the general findings, one of the most important factors to consider when choosing a career is one's interest. It was also evident within the data presented that the finances and practicality of the predetermined college courses that the students chose were weighed into their decision-making. It also shows that the majority of the participants agreed that their families have an impact on their career choices. The study also discovered that doing things that are not one's passion in the first place can be difficult, but it can help people challenge their abilities. The study concludes that indeed, pre-coaching strategies and guidance provided by schools play a large factor in students' awareness of their strengths and weaknesses. Also, setting goals may make the desired changes more difficult; however, the participants rediscovered their inclination and satisfaction with what they have pursued now, which motivated them to continue.

Abstract

The Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning is associated with high student participation and performance in various subjects. However, research focusing on this direction in Vocational and Technical Education (VTE) is not widespread. This mixed method with an action research approach investigated the effectiveness of TPS cooperative learning in improving student participation and performance in building quantities. It also explored the perceptions of students about TPS cooperative learning intervention. Convenience sampling was used to select 24 students from one of the VTE institutions in Brunei Darussalam. Data were collected through a pre-test, a post-test, interviews, and observations; and analyzed with a paired sample-test, frequency and percentage counts, and thematic analysis. The results showed that TPS cooperative learning improved student performance and participation. It encouraged creativity, collaboration, active learning, and motivation, which are conduits to high performance and participation. Although the implementation of TPS cooperative learning comes with some challenges, it can be an effective tool to improve student performance and participation in VTE. Its key features, such as teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, may contribute to nurturing the soft skills needed in VTE. Also given are the recommendations for the effective implementation of TPS cooperative learning in VTE.
