Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the community in preserving the existence of mangrove forest sand the relationship of individual factors with public participation in mangrove forest conservation in the village of Batu Gajah. The samples are taken 75KK of 267KK. Data processing is using ChiSquare test. Research shows that community participation was medium because of them just want to get incentives from conservation activitiesandany divergence views on planting location. The individual factors such as age, income, and long lived perception has no real relation. While education and knowledge factors showed an association with public participation in mangrove forest conservation in the village of BatuGajah. Abstract

The research objective was to determine the antifungal activity and the effective concentration of extract sindur wood oil in inhibiting Schizophyllum commune Fries fungus growth. Concentration of extract sindur wood oil used for the treatment were 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14% and 16%. The toxicity testing had done by method using PDA medium mixed with the extract sindur oil. Extract sindur wood oil activity is inclusive of category for concentration 2%, strongth for concentration 4%, 6%, 8% and very strong for concentration 10%, 12%, 16%.The concentration of 16% is very strong anti-fungal activity which inhibit 100% of growth of S. commune fungi. Concentration 10% of extract wood sindur oil is optimum contration to inhibit S. commune fungus growth. Key word : Schizophyllum commune Fries, sindur wood oil, antifungal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of absorption mercury contamination in plants and would like to know which plants are best at absorbing mercury contamination in tailings. plants used were Casuarina junghuniana, Cinnamomum porrectum (Roxb.), Melastoma affine and Dillenia suffruticosa Griff ex Hook. This study uses RCD (randomized completely design) with 8 treatments on plants and each treatment was repeated 5 times. The analysis showed that the Casuarina junghuniana, Cinnamomum porrectum (Roxb.), Melastoma affine and Dillenia suffruticosa Griff ex Hook has the ability to absorb mercury contamination in tailing and the tolerance to mercury contamination. The results showed that the higher the growth rate, the higher the mercury is absorbed in plant tissues. The best types of plants to absorb mercury contamination is Melastoma affine and Dillenia suffruticosa Griff ex Hook because this plant is a plant that tolerance and is a pioneer plant that can grow in soil that has a low nutrient content, has rapid growth and are able to grow in the open and logged over . The analysis showed that the levels of mercury in the tissues of plants and media higher than 0.02 ppm. However, the levels of mercury in the media on the treatment of P3, P5, P6, and P7 contains mercury <0.02 ppm. Keywords : Casuarina junghuniana, Cinnamomum porrectum (Roxb.), Melastoma affine and Dillenia suffruticosa Griff ex Hook, Phytoremediation and Tailings.

Abstract

Kulim (Scorodocarpus borneensis Becc.) is a potential raw material used for a variety of needs, one of them is as building materials, Kulim is include of a group of first class of commercial wood, it is cause Kulim was harvested, so it is affect to the decreasing of Kulim natural. This research is aim to determine the dynamics of Kulim natural stands in logged over area of IUPHHK PT. Suka Jaya Makmur at annual work planning (RKT) 2007, 2009, 2011, and also the primary forest area. This research use a combination method between the transect and plot method. The result showed that the Important Value Index (IVI) of Kulim in logged over area of Poles level in RKT 2007, 2009 and 2011 respectively are 2,825; 12,534 and 6,508, while for the tree level the Important Value Index in RKT 2007, 2009, and 2011 respectively are 2,695; 6,936 and 7,812. Abstract

Forest benefits especially in national park such as recreation facilities, watersheds, protection of ecological proces, biodiversity, education and research as well as the future of collateral value is valued lower because still many people who dont understand the value of the various benefits of Forest Resources especially the benefits of water. To understand the benefits of Forest Resources will require an assessment of all the resulting benefits. The research objectives are to examine the influence of socioeconomic factors on domestic water and fish cages consumption, calculate the economic value of water for domestic and fish cages as well as examine the contribution of the use of water to communities in the TNDS SPTN Region II Semitau. The method used is descriptive method through a survey form and interview techniques both unstructured and structured observations and direct measurements in the field. Analysis using the method of determination of the demand model "Stepwise Regression" with the software SPSS 16.00.TNDS area provides enormous benefits of water if valued in money. The results show the economic value of water is Rp 13.444.886.086,92 per year for domestic water needs in the research area and Rp 127.641.323.610,00 per year for domestic water needs in the TNDS area. For fish cages water needs in research area economic value of water is Rp 15.044.768.326,15 per period. Water sources in TNDS area contributes in meeting the needs of water, especially for people who are around the area and generally for people who are out of the area for domestic needs, fisheries, and other economic activities. Abstract

Tayan Downstream is one of the District that is located in Regency Sanggau, West Borneo. In the Tayan Downstream there are several Lakes that each has its own potential, one of which is Lake Bekat. In the Tayan Downstream there are several Lake sthate ach has its own potential, one of which is Lake Bekat. In Lake Bekat there are many types of fishe specially the most prominent is Toman (Orheichepalus micropeltes), Kerandang (Ophiocephalus pleurophthamus) and Biawan (Hellostomata temincki). With the vastexpanse of nature through out the area + 2136.52 Ha and the beautiful scenery around the Lake,Because in the absence of Tayan Downstream nature associated with water attractions (Lake) there should be an assessment of the potential for tourist attraction on Lake Bekat. This study aims to identify andassess the potential attractiveness Lake Bekat to be developed as a tourist attractionand from this study are expected to provide information about the potential value for development Lake Bekat attractions. Thi sresearch uses descriptive methods and techniques of data collection in the field using the method of observation. From theresults of the study obtaineda value of135.98.This value is multiplied by the weighting criteria appeal to the area that is 6so135.98 x 6=815.9 or C. From the research, the need for cooperation with relevant institutions in order to in crease the potential values??in Lake Bekat and the need for status determination so as not to conflicttareas in the future. Abstract

Wildlife bird is one of the natural resources that have an important role in the lives of both ecological, recreational, economic, tourism and in terms of education and science, so that its presence is absolutely necessary not only for the present but also for the future. Extinction of a species of bird in the wild means the loss of natural resources are very precious existence therefore need to be preserved. This study aims to determine the diversity of bird species that are diurnal Nature Reserve area mandor regency landak. The study was conducted on the 2nd of February-3 March 2013. Result observations made at three study sites Heath forest, peat swamp forest, mining Logged diurnal found 92 species of birds with details on Heath forest (50 species and 500 individuals), Peat Swamp Forest (86 species with 549 individuals), and the former mining area (48 species with 426 individuals). Highest species diversity in Peat Swamp Forest with morning time value of diversity H = 1.73947, time of day H = 1.74264 and the evening H = 1.73440. The result of the calculation is known that the dominance of the largest diurnal bird habitat Heath forest with morning dominance index C = 0.04314, C = 0.03687 lunch time and evening time C = 0.03789. The similarity index is the highest type in Peat Swamp Forests and Forest Heath with IS = 50.88% while the lowest type on the similarity index Heath forest and mining Logged in value IS = 48.93%. Key Words : Diversity, type, birds, diurnal, nature reserves mandor
