Abstract

Tengkawang utilization activities assessed as having a positive impact on the community, especially for the people in District Embaloh Downstream Kapuas Hulu. This study aims to determine the value of the benefits of fruit, wood, and resin from trees tengkawang for the community, the level of income of the people who use tengkawang and factors affecting the value of harvesting tengkawang. The method used was a descriptive survey forms and interview techniques. Population and sample are degan method nomographs Harry King. The proportion of the sample stratified random manner ditentuka premises (SRS). The results of the study showed that the value of the benefits are as follows tengkawang fruits (94.84%), stem (5.12%), sap or resin (0.04%). The high percentage of the fruits are utilized, due to the intensity tengkawang abundant fruit, and the process is very simple processing by the community. The level of average income for people who use tengkawang Rp.23.856.238, -/Patriarch/Harvest. Keywords: Contribusions tengkawang (Shorea spp), Utilization, Collection.

Abstract

The urban forest of Gunung Sari in Pasiran District is one of the alternatively primary source, for the local people. The purpose of this research is to know the perception of Pasiran people and the that which have relationship toward urbanforest of Gunung Sari. This research was conducted in September 2015.The wish used in this research is survey method descriptively with interview technique.The sampels were collected by purposive sampling andthe numbers of respondents are 90.The research result shows that52respondents (57,78%) of Pasiran people have high perception toword city forest of Gunung Sari, 25respondents(27,28%) are moderate, and13 (14,44%) are low. The high perception respondents toward urban forest of Gunung Sari is because they are aware have realized how of the importance of urban forest for their lives. Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the community in preserving the existence of mangrove forest sand the relationship of individual factors with public participation in mangrove forest conservation in the village of Batu Gajah. The samples are taken 75KK of 267KK. Data processing is using ChiSquare test. Research shows that community participation was medium because of them just want to get incentives from conservation activitiesandany divergence views on planting location. The individual factors such as age, income, and long lived perception has no real relation. While education and knowledge factors showed an association with public participation in mangrove forest conservation in the village of BatuGajah. Abstract

Rubber farming in the tembawang area is the main livelihood of household of farmer communities. The research took place in tembawang area at Sebalo village Bengkayang subdistrict. The research aim to know the farmer’s income, the efficiency level of farm rubber done by farmers, the percentage contribution of rubber revenue to the household, and to know the influence factors of farmer’s income. The research conducted from April to May 2014. The research used survey method, and samples were taken by purposive sampling. The results shows that the average net income of sap rubber is Rp 12.050.609,-/household/year or Rp 1.004.217,42/household/month. The efficiency level of 3,34 points means that economically the farm rubber is reasonable and give benefit to the farmer. The income contribution of rubber is 51,44% from total income of the household. The regression analyzed from the three variables influences the income from rubbers. The variables are the number of the tembawang areas (X1), the work experience (X2) and the total of rubber trees that tapped (X3). These three variables collectivelly give significant effect to decrease or increase the farmer’s income from sap rubber with Ftest 23,729 > Ftable (α=0,05;100) = 2,70. So the Halt is accepted and coefficient determination (R2) is 0,426. The variable of the number of rubber trees have high correlation with net income in which the Ttest = 6,758 > Ttable (α=0,05;2) = 4,303. While the space area and the work experience have not corelated in which the Ttest are 2,094 and -1,374 respectively. Keywords : Bengkayang, farmers incomes, rubbers, sebalo village, tembawang.

Abstract

Tembawang forest has the natural resource that used to fulfill the requirement of live society. The aims of this research are to the types of non timber forest product that are extracted by local people in the tembawang area, the amount of revenue in the use of non-timber forest product from tembawang, and to know the factors influence the local people earnings in extractive tembawang. This study used a survey method with interview technique using questionnaires. Sampling of respondents was taken purposive, (purposive sampling). The member of respondents are 50 families in the 3 sub villages of Sempang Ampin, Saba’u, and Batu Pati. The results of this reseach slowed that types of non timber forest product that area extracted are durian, cempedak, keranji, jengkol, kelampai, tampoi, langsat, mangosteen, rambutan, rambai, canary, laugh, petai forest, pehengan, sour of maram, duku, former, acid pauh, sour of kanis, saumang (rambutan), coconut, former / kalimantan, and goods. Besides fruits there is also firewood, bamboo, rebung, for the crop of medicinize like earth dowel, sirih forest, and mengkudu. While the type whic is used as income durian, cempedak, jengkol, and keranji. The are fruits of average of earnings from these fruits is Rp.10.849.860 per family per year, with the highest earnings equal to Rp. 83.254000 per family per year, and the lowest equal to Rp. 779.000 per family per year. The coefficient ditermination is 0,237 means the change of farmer earnings in extracting of forest tembawang that equal to 23,7% is influenced by wide of tembawang area the member of type is influenced the wide area of tembawang, the member of family member working in tembawang, the member of work-hours, and products collected. The regression equation is : Y = 160.951 + 9.724X1 - 045X2 – 12.514X3 – 488X4 + 10.238X5 Keyword : forest, income, people, tembawang, utilizing.

Abstract

In the tropics, mangroves are rich in flora and fauna. This rich forest ecosystems provide a wide range of products and services both economically and environmentally. The research was conducted in the village of Olak-olak Kubu Sub District, Kubu Raya District, from February to May 2014. The aims of this research are to determine: the income level of community who uses forest products from mangrove forests, the contribution of mangrove forest products to household income, and the factors that affect income of household who use mangrove forests. The study used survey methods to the local people as respondents who use mangrove forests as income. The number of respondents are 40 families or households.The research showed that the average income of respondents are Rp. 12,841,601.00 per family per year. The results are from timber for building, fish, shrimp, crabs and clams. While revenues from outside mangrove forests that are obtained from farming, gardening, livestocking and others are Rp. 3,264,125.00 per families per year. The contribution of mangrove forests is 81% of the total revenue. Factors age level (X1), working hours (X2), the kinds of result (X3) and experience (X4) were not give significantly on revenue ie with Fcount = 0868

Abstract

Tembawang is a forest land managemen system performed by local people of West Kalimantan and has unique ecosytem which has high value of economy, bio-diversity and high conservation in that area is used by local people. Howere, its ecosystem has now changed drastically, plantation, and excessive use of tembawang forest, leading to lost of various vegatation in that area. The research aimed to find out dominan vegetation in Tembawang forest. The research was conducted in Tembawang forest in dusun Manggam Bati Kuala Behe of Landak district. Surve was used as a method of the research. The research analyzed types of seedlings, sapling, poles, tree stage growing in Tembawang forest. The research finding showed  that the Tembawang forest is dominated by trees with criteria for seedling, saplings and poles, and tree stage. The composition of species  in Tembawang forest is dominanted by durian (Hevea brasiliensis) for sapling and poles with important Value Index (IVI= 156.52%) rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) foe sapling and poles with important Value Index - 126.32% and 533.57% respectively and (Durio zibethinus) for stage with Importan Value Index 174.74%.Keywords: biodiversity, ecology, forest, stand, tembawang

Abstract

The role of forest as a provider of environment services gives significant contribution. due to its capability in providing water resource, carbon storage, and natural services. Tanjungpura University has several potential areas as urban forest. These are  Arboretum Untan, Jogging Track Untan, and Faculty of Forestry.It is important to value the urban forest economically so people will know the important benefit resulted by forest in term of money. The purposes of this research were to know the total economic value of urban forest related to environmental services, based on Direct Use Value (DUV), Indirect Use Value (IUV), and Option Value (OV). The research used descriptive method of sampling using accidental sampling technique and data collection stands by census. The value method used is analysis total economic valuation. Based the results research are Direct Use Value Rp 29.896.803,-, Indirect Use Value Rp 7.123.160.127 and Option Value Rp 578.708.120,-. Total Economic Valuation Rp 7.732.365.050,- / year. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the local people’s perception toward the existence of mangrove forest and to know the relationship from the factor of age, knowledge, cosmopolitan and income with the people’s perception of mangrove forest in Sungai Pinyuh Subdistrict, Mempawah District. This research used a survey method with interview technique. The respondents were sampled by purposive sampling. The number of sample was a hundred respondents. The respondensts were taken  from three subvillage that are Subvillage I, Subvillage II, and Subvillage III. The data were analyzed by associative descriptively and using chi kuadrad. The results of this research are : The existence of mangrove forest, with the value count = 57,25 > 0,05 = 5,591 shows that there is a high relationship the existence of mangrove forests. The age level with the value count = 2,98 < 0,05 = 9,488 shows that it is unacceptable or there is no relatiaonship the existence of mangrove forests. The knowledge level with the value count = 14,60 > 0,05 = 9,488, shows that it is acceptable or there is a relationship the existence of mangrove forests. For the cosmopolite level with the value count = 3,04 < 0,05 = 9,488, shows that it is unacceptable or there is no relationship the existence of mangrove forests. and the income know level with the value count = 3,93 < 0,05 = 9,488 shows that it is unacceptable or there is no relationship the existence of mangrove forests. Abstract

The Riam (cascade) Sengiang area is the administrative region neighboring Nanga Kempangai Village District of Ella Hillir Melawi. The area is located in the basin of Ella River ,it define the status of the region and needs to be developed into a  natural tourism area. With the establishment plan can provide good benefits to the surrounding community, goverment agencies as well as the environment. Relating to the needs above, this research tried to investigate public perceptions in the Riam Sengiang. The research showed of data analysis showed that the public perception of the plan designation of Riam sengiang as the object for natural tourism in this area have a high perception with 63,33 %, moderate perception with 20.00% and low perception with 16,67 %. This high level of public perception village have awardness the importance things to establish the ecotourism area that has an impact for environment, the community's economy and the lives of their children and grandchildren in the future.
