Abstract

The growth of agarwood in open area still not maximum, because agarwood is semitolerance that can not planted in open area, especially at the beginning of its growth. I need to be given some of treatments. The aim of this study to obtain information about mycorrhizal treatment and determine shade intensity to enhance the growth of agarwood (Aquilaria spp) in open area. The research work employed Split Plot Design with Randomized Block Design (RBD) which treatment factors are the type of shading as (main plot) and Arbuskula Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) as (sub plot). Variable observation: the growth of height, diameter, number of leaves and percentage of plant life agarwood. The result showed that Mycorrhizal treatment unsignificantly affects to height, diameter, and percentage of plant life, but significantly affect to a number of leaves. The best shade types are 60% paranet and vegetation shade to growth diameter and percentage of plant life. The interaction of plant with AMF under shade showed unsignificantly affect to growth agarwood. Keyword: Agarwood, Arbuskula Mycorrhizal Fungi and shade

The purpose of this research is to know the different types of natural orchids (Orchidaceae) in the area of Sekendal Village protected forest, Air Besar sub-district, Landak District. This research was conducted by using the method of exploration that is placing by the line intentionally or purposive sampling with long trail 1 km and a width of 10 m left, right. Direct orchids identification that done in the field from both the shape of the leaves, stem (bulb), as well as the shape of the flower. From the research results show that at Sekendal Village protected forest has 14 Orchid genus like Agrostophyllum, Bulbophyllum, Coelogyne, Eria, Dipodium, Cerastostylis, Dendrobium, Bromhedia, Liparis, Mycaranthes, Thelasis, Trichotosia, Phalaenopsis. With each track has a different growing place State of the level of epiphyte, litofit or terrestrial. The first path found 8 Orchids genus, second path there are 11 genera are found that have a height of 200-300 m above sea level, the third line of Orchid genus found 4 that all included into the Orchid efipit as for the fourth line is found as many as 10 genus of orchids with an altitude above 300 m above sea level and more leads to secondary forest. From the result of that 4 path there are 14 genera comprising 28 species with a total of 46 individual orchids nature. Keywords: Protected Forest Orchidaceae, purposive, Transect

Abstract

This study aimed to determine total carbon stock on one to five years old (Rhizophora apiculata BL) trees stand planted in IUPHHK PT. Bina Ovivipari Semesta. This study was conducted over five months on the purposively selected area of forest rehabilitation. This study applied harvested method for 1-3 years old and non-harvested method for 5 years old bakau trees that selected with purposive sampling method. The results showed that the bakau stand has an ability to store very high carbon. The amount of carbon stored in 1 year, 3 years and 5 years of bakau stand were 42.06, 57.93 and 65.91 tonnes ha-1. Abstract

Puri (Mitragyna speciosa Korth) is one of the plant species in Indonesia forest area which has a high economic value. especially in Kapuas Hulu has been exploited extensively by the community by taking the leaves of the puri that grows naturally in the forest. This research aims to determine the results of composting on alluvial soil as a medium for the growth of stem cuttings of puri. This research was conducted for 10 weeks. The method was Completely Random Design, which consisted of 5 treatment with 10 replication. Each treatment consisted of alluvial without compost, alluvial 4 + compost 1, alluvial 3 + compost 2, alluvial 2 + compost 3, alluvial 1 + compost 4. The variables observed were live percentage, number of shoots, number of leaves, number of roots and length of roots. The results showed that adding compost on stem cuttings of puri at alluvial 4 + compost 1 had a significant effect on the growth parameter of the number leaves, a number of roots and a very significant effect on the parameter of the length of roots. The percentage growth of stem cuttings of puri was 52% Keywords: Compost, Mitragyna species Korth, Stem Cuttings of Puri
