Jurnal Biopedadogia, Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Ide awalnya diterbitkan jurnal Biopedagogia mempermudah mahasiswa mempublikasikan hasil karyanya, dikarenakan keterbatasan dan kesulitan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam mempublikasi hasil karya baik skripsi, hasil PKM, PPL dan karya tulis lainnya. Abstract

This reserch aimed to produce a learning resource in the form of a quality local potential-based booklet referring to the inventory of fish species in River Sedulun area as a learning resource related to vertebrate materials on Pisces class assessed by several experts. The research was classified into RD (Research and Development) with a 4-D development model consisting of four stages: Defining, Designing, Developing, and Dissminating. However, this development was performed only until the 3rd stage (Development). The product feasibility tests were validated by the experts, including media expert, material expert, and practitioner. Meanwhile, the students’ response data were obtained from the students’ responses were respectively 82% (greatly feasible), 94% (greatly feasible), 84% (greatly feasible), and 91% (highly interested). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the developed local potential-based booklet referring to the inventory ot fish species in River Sedulun area as a learning resource related to vertebrate materials on pisces class has met the criteria of highly feasible to be used as a learning resource for biology learning at school. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analize the implementation of enrichment in science subjects at SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan. This research is a case study research with a qualitative approach. The data collection used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and data triangulation to help analyze and check the data's validity. The objects in this study were theree science teachers in class VII, VIII, and IX and the subjects in this study were the Principal of SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan, the Deputy Principal of Curriculum of SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan, and three students. Based on data analysis conducted, the results of the study showed that there was one teacher who carried out enrichment while the other two teachers did not carry out enrichment. The implementation of enrichment such as independent study, giving project assignments, and providing additional material. The obstacles to the implementation of enrichment were time limits to conduct enrichment, the ability or learning outcomes of students, and differences in student characteristics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the phytogeography of endemic orchid plants in the University of Borneo Tarakan research forest. In this sort of exploratory research, the sampling point is chosen by the researcher using an adaptive sampling sample. This study was conducted in the University of Borneo Tarakan’s Research Forest, which has an area of around 70 ha. The sample site has a 120,617 m² location area. According to the study’s findings, there are two different species of orchids, including Bromhedia finlaysoniana, which has a terrestrial habitat, and Dendrobium crumenatum, which has an epiphytic habitat. From the results of these values, the average distribution value is 1, which means that the distribution pattern is random. Orchid growth can also be affected by different environmental parameters in each location.  Bromhedia finlaysoniana and Dendrobium crumenatum, two types of orchids that were discovered as a result of the research, are endemic to tropical southeast Asian countries and are common in many regions of Indonesia, including Kalimantan, Maluku, java, the Lesser Sunda Islands, Sulawasi, and Sumatra.  Keywords:  phytogeography study, Bromheadia finlaysoniana, Dendrobium crumenatu, Endemic

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology in the era of globalization requires educational institutions to be able to form students who have scientific literacy skills. Biology is a branch of science. Biological literacy is the development of scientific literacy in a biological context. Science problems, especially biology, that exist in everyday life can be solved if students understand and can use integrated science process skills and high self-efficacy. It is intended that every decision taken when solving problems has a strong foundation and students will be able to develop in achieving achievements and feel optimistic in achieving something. This study aims to determine the relationship between integrated science process skills and self-efficacy with students' biological literacy. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Depok in the odd semester 2021/2022 academic year. The method used is descriptive method, with the type of correlational study. The sample used was 144 students taken from four classes of X Mathematics and Natural Sciences using simple random sampling technique. The data in this study were taken using three test instruments, namely: a biological literacy test, an integrated science process skills test and a self-efficacy test. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between integrated science process skills and biological literacy, a positive relationship between self-efficacy and biological literacy, a positive relationship between integrated science process skills and students' self-efficacy and biological literacy. Keywords: self-Efficacy, integrated science process skills, biological literacy

Abstract

The spread of Covid 19 in Indonesia has made the government implement online learning. The application of online learning has obstacles that result in ineffective learning. In February 2022 the government re-implemented face-to-face learning with 50% capacity. Online learning and face-to-face learning are combined for today's learning which is also known as mixed learning. Mixed learning as a solution during a pandemic in learning activities. In the process of learning biology, motivation is needed to achieve learning objectives. Learning motivation is influenced by several factors, one of which is students' perceptions of the learning mix. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between students' perceptions of mixed learning and students' learning motivation in biology subjects. This research uses a correlational study method. The population of this research is the students of SMA Negeri 54 Jakarta with a total sample of 114 students of class X MIPA who were selected through the Simple Random Sampling. The results of the study revealed that there was a positive relationship between students' perceptions of mixed learning and students' learning motivation in biology subjects. The level of relationship is included in the moderate criteria, therefore, to increase student learning motivation not only by increasing student perceptions but many other factors that influence, because learning motivation can arise from within the individual (intrinsic) and from outside the individual (extrinsic).  Keywords: blended learning, learning motivation, student perception

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has a diversity of plants scattered in various tropical forests such as nursery forests and luntoh rice fields. Kroton (Codiaeum variegatum) and Patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L) are plant species belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family that are found in nursery forests and luntoh rice fields. The tests used in this study were histochemical tests with 5% CuSO4 reagents and glycerin, and ethanol extraction tests with concentrated HCl and concentrated H2SO4 reagents. This test is used to identify terpenoid compounds in root, stem, and leaf organs. The results of the study showed that from two plant species of the Euphorbiaceae family, there were organs containing terpenoid compounds which were scattered in various organs of roots, stems, and leaves. In the Croton plant species (Codiaeum variegatum), the organs containing terpenoid compounds are in the roots and leaves. In the Patikan kebo plant species (Euphorbia hirta L), the part of the organ containing terpenoid compounds is in the leaf. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the critical thinking skills of students at MTs Negeri Tarakan through the implementation of online learning. This pre-experimental research used one shot case study design. The research subjects were students of class VIII C of MTs Negeri Tarakan, where sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique. The data was obtained from the results of critical thinking ability test in the form of description questions. The results of the one sample t-test showed that the t-count = -17.106 with dk= 34 and the t-table = 1.691. As the t-count t-table, the Ho was accepted, meaning that the average value of students’ critical thinking skills was lower than 70. The percentage of achievement of each indicator or critical thingking ability were 52% for providing a simple explanation (modearate category), 39% for concluding indicators (low category), 56% for providing further explanation (moderate category), and 71% for setting strategies and tactics (high category). The average achievement of critical thingking ability indicators was 54% (moderate category). Thus, it was necessary to train students’ critical thingking skills through the learning process by using the right model and applying critical thinking indicators. Keywords:  Critical Thinking Ability, Online Learning, Indicator
