Abstract

The use of synthetic materials as active ingredients in soap making has a negative effect on human skin such as causing irritation. These potential hazards can be overcome by making soap using natural ingredients as activeingredients such as VCO and green tea. The purpose of this activity is to provide socialization to the community in the Pasir Jambak Coast of Padang regarding Hand Washing with Soap (CTPS). In technical implementation, thecommunity service team made liquid soap followed by education about CTPS and the distribution of free liquid soap to the community. The implementation methods and approaches developed in the PKM program activities can overcome the mindset about the importance of washing hands. The result of this service is that the community is enthusiastic in participating in counseling and understanding the importance of CTPS.

Abstract

Referring to the problem, the impact of worms related to stunting, it is necessary to undertake community service activities (CSA) regarding education on the prevention and treatment of intestinal worms as the implementation of the stunting awareness generation program. This community service activity aims to equalize understanding and provide knowledge about the prevention and treatment of intestinal worms that are integrated with the stunting program. The method of implementing this activity is carried out online in the form of a webinar using the Zoom Meeting application. The target audience includes high school/vocational high school students, students, teachers, lecturers, and health workers. CSA implementation includes preparation (producing materials and publication flyers), implementation (exposure to materials on prevention and treatment of intestinal worms in children), and evaluation (pre-test and posttest assessments). The realization of this activity showed the number of participants was 117 which included 104 students, 10 health workers, and 3 housewives. The indicators for the success of this activity are indicated by the increase in the average score from the pre-test of 63.19 to the post-test of 74.86 with a percentage increase in knowledge of the prevention and treatment of intestinal worms by 16%. This CSA concludes that participants can understand the material on prevention and knowledge of worms. The recommendation from this activity is that it is necessary to carry out direct follow-up activities in worm-endemic areas in the form of treatment measures, prevention programs, and periodic monitoring in worm-endemic areas in collaboration with local health centers.

Abstract

The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is one of the infectious diseases that currently become the global public health crisis. The first case of Covid-19 was reported by World Health Organization (WHO) on December 31, 2019 from Wuhan, China. As an alternative to improve the immune system of the population in Gilingan Village, ingredients from traditional plants made in the form of powder instant are made easily and cheaply. Red ginger combined with temulawak, turmeric and lemongrass is made in the form of powder instant with the addition of sugar as a preservaton. The target of the counseling activity on Covid-19 is the community ofGilingan Village, Banjarsari, Surakarta where from each RW would send 1 representative to take part in the counseling. Method implementation devotion that is with counseling about Covid-19 and counseling utilization ofnatural ingredients that are useful for increasing the immune system packaged in instant powder preparations as well as demonstrations. Data analysis in this activity uses the Paired Sample t Test with SPSS, where this analysis uses pre-test and post-test values. From the output of the paired samples test, the Sig value is obtained. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an influence in the community service program, namely counseling and workshops on my welfare (red ginger powder, temulawak, lemongrass, turmeric) that have been carried out.

Abstract

Introduction: Infection prevention and control is the application of microbiology in clinical practice and its success depends on the theoretical knowledge of microbiology that underlies safe clinical practice. Infectious diseases are still one of the health problems in the world, including Indonesia. Judging from the origin or acquisition of infection can come from the community (Community Acquired Infection) or come from the environment. Objective: to increase knowledge about infection prevention and control application of microbiology in clinical practice and its success. Solution: Conduct infection prevention and control counseling to students who are queuing and at the Kyai Marogan Islamic boarding school in Palembang. Time : Held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, attended by 96 students and students, with 3 lecturers and 3 students as implementers. Results: There was an increase in the understanding of students and female students (100%) after counseling on infection prevention and control to students and female students queuing at the Kyai Marogan Islamic Boarding School in Palembang. Suggestion: To always instill the belief that cleanliness is part of our faith, be open and respectful to each other to improve personal and environmental hygiene.

Abstract

Preparation for breastfeeding during pregnancy is important, because with good preparation, mothers are better prepared to breastfeed their babies. The preparation includes knowledge and psychological support to preparementally, and health services to prepare the mother's physical condition. Preparation be good, mothers will be more confident and ready to give exclusive breastfeeding to their babies. The mother's physical readiness can beseen from the condition of the breasts, especially the nipples, and the mother's nutrition. Based on Susenas data for 2019-2021, the national coverage of exclusive breastfeeding for infants 0-6 months, in Indonesia is still below 50 percent, meaning that more than half of Indonesian children do not get their right to exclusive breastfeeding from pregnant mother’s. Posyandu cadres have a major role in efforts to improve maternal and child health. The results showed that 63.8% of cadres strongly agreed that they played a role in the success of breastfeeding mothers. In addition, 66% of cadres need face-to-face discussion groups with health workers about breastfeeding. In carrying out their role, there are also obstacles faced by health cadres in helping breastfeeding mothers, namely feeling a failure in communicating and convincing mothers to breastfeed their babies (21.3%), not having adequate knowledge when breastfeeding mothers complain of little breast milk, small nipples, and babies do not want to breastfeed (17%). This Community Service was carried out in February 2022. Abstract

Pregnant women are prone to have physical and mental health problems. Mental health problems that occur during pregnancy can persist for some time after delivery. One thing that is needed by pregnant women during their pregnancy is the presence of a support system or people who provide support. Anyone can be a support system for a pregnant woman, for example husband, parents, siblings, and friends. The support system aims to support pregnant women so they don't get stressed during their pregnancy. Cadres are voluntary workers in the health sector who are directly elected by and from the community whose task is to assist in the development of public health. This community service activity aims to increase Cadre knowledge about family psychoeducation as a support system for pregnant women. In this community service activity, pre-test and post-test were carriedout through a questionnaire to see the level of knowledge of Cadres. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed that there was an increase in knowledge with a pre-test score of 68.3% to 96.6% in the post-test. This shows that this training and mentoring activity is effective in increasing Cadre knowledge.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problemcaused by a lack of nutritional intake for a long time and not caused by hormonal disorders or diseases. Malnutrition in children can cause children to become sick easily, not optimal body postures, intelligence below normal and increase mortility in infants and children. Stunting can result in long-term economic losses for Indonesia. The purpose of this activity is to provide insight to the community to prevent stunting to thrive in children. This activity is carried out online with the target audience of the general public participating in the webinar. To determine of participants education, an evaluation was conducted using pre test and post test questionnaires to participants, then analyzed descriptively. The result of this activity is that the level of community knowledge based on results of the pre test and post test has increased significantly, which is almost 86,42%. This can be seen from the discussion and questions given to the speakers and the highest score obtained. The highest score after the pre test was obtained up to 100 points while the lowest was 15 points. The highest score after the post test is obtained up to 100 points while the lowest is 30 points.

Abstract

Acute respiratory tract infection (ARI) is one of the infectious disease that is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in the world. ARI is the main cause of infant and under-five mortality. Parents knowledge and skills play an important role in handling ARI in toddlers. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge and skills of parents about acute respiratory infections (ARI) in children and how to handle them. Community service is carried out in August-September 2020 with the target of guardians of the Aisyiyah Bustanul Atfal Kindegarten students in Banyumas. The methods used is interactive lectures and discussions to increase knowledge, while to improve skills by simulating cases in small groups. The knowledge of Kindegarten parents in dealing with ARI has increased, as evidenced by the increased in the questionnaire scores, from 77.5 to 90.8. Guardian skills improve after case simulation

Abstract

Pada umumnya golongan penyakit ini dibagi atas infeksi superfisialis, infeksi kutan, dan infeksi subkutan. Infeksi superficial yang paling sering ditemukan adalah Ptyriasis versicolor. Dari hasil wawancara sederhana dengan ketua Panti Asuhan Fatmawati salah satu panti asuhan yang akan menjadi sasaran pemeriksaan jamur kulit, pada umumya para anak asuh merasa gatal dibagian badan. Hasil observasi terlihat kepadatan hunian dari setiap kamar anak yaitu 8 orang. Tidak sedikit dari mereka yang mengalami gangguan kesehatan misal gangguan kesehatan kulit. Gangguan-gangguan kulit banyak sekali terdapat di Indonesia dan setiap orang pernah dihadapi dengan gejala-gejala seperti panu, kutu air di kaki, kadas, kurap dan lain-lain Gangguan fungsi kulit dan struktur kulit atau dapat disebut sebagai kerusakan kulit. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan jumlah anak tentang pengetahuan Penyakit kulit di asuh di Panti Asuhan . Metode Pelaksanaan yang menjadi kelompok sasaran dalam kegiatan adalah anak panti asuhan dengan metode kegatan yatu melalu penyuluhan.Hasl yang ddapat dalam pengabmas adanya peningkatan penngetahuan anak asuh tentang penyakit kulit. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini ada penngkatan pengetahuan tentang penyakit kulit pada anak asuh.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahan sintetik sebagai bahan aktif pada pembuatan sabun memiliki efek negatif terhadap kulit manusia seperti menimbulkan iritasi. Potensi bahaya tersebut dapat diatasi dengan pembuatan sabun dengan menggunakan bahan alami sebagai bahan aktifnya seperti VCO dan teh hijau. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu memberikan sosialisasi kepada masyarakatdi Pesisir Pantai Pasir Jambak Padang mengenai Cuci tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS). Dalam teknis pelaksanaan, tim pengabdian masyarakat melakukan pembuatan sabun cair diikuti dengan edukasi mengenai CTPS dan pembagian sabun cair gratis kepada masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan dan pendekatan yang dikembangkan dalam kegiatan program PKM ini dapat mengatasi pola pikir tentang pentingnya cuci tangan. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat antusias dalam mengikuti penyuluhan dan memahami pentingnya CTPS.
