Abstract

Kersen (Mutingia calabura L.) is a plant that can be used as a raw material for medicine because it has many medicinal benefits. Kersen as a medicinal raw material must pass a quality parameter testing process to be safe to use. One of the extract quality parameters is the total plate count for microbial (ALT) and yeast contamination (AKK). This study aims to evaluate the suitability of microbial and yeast contamination in the water extract of Kersen leaves to the applicable regulations. Extraction of Kersen leaves used maceration method with water solvent for 3 days with a ratio of 1:10. The results obtained from the water extract of Kersen leaves are organoleptically in the form of thick extract, dark brown in color, sour taste, bitter, and has a distinctive odor. The ALT value in the aqueous extract of cherry leaves was 8.4 x 10⁴ colonies/g. The AKK value in the aqueous extract of cherry leaves was 102 colonies/g which was reported as an approximate AKK value. The ALT and AKK values in the water extract of Kersen leaves meet the safety and quality requirements of traditional medicine.

Abstract

The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is one of the infectious diseases that currently become the global public health crisis. The first case of Covid-19 was reported by World Health Organization (WHO) on December 31, 2019 from Wuhan, China. As an alternative to improve the immune system of the population in Gilingan Village, ingredients from traditional plants made in the form of powder instant are made easily and cheaply. Red ginger combined with temulawak, turmeric and lemongrass is made in the form of powder instant with the addition of sugar as a preservaton. The target of the counseling activity on Covid-19 is the community ofGilingan Village, Banjarsari, Surakarta where from each RW would send 1 representative to take part in the counseling. Method implementation devotion that is with counseling about Covid-19 and counseling utilization ofnatural ingredients that are useful for increasing the immune system packaged in instant powder preparations as well as demonstrations. Data analysis in this activity uses the Paired Sample t Test with SPSS, where this analysis uses pre-test and post-test values. From the output of the paired samples test, the Sig value is obtained. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an influence in the community service program, namely counseling and workshops on my welfare (red ginger powder, temulawak, lemongrass, turmeric) that have been carried out.

Abstract

Usaha jamu tidak wajib mempunyai izin edar, karena itu keamanan, khasiat dan mutu masih cukup rendah. Parameter untuk pengukuran cemaran mikroba yang terdapat dalam jamu menggunakan Angka Lempeng Total. Jamu yang digunakan yaitu jamu daun pepaya temu ireng, kunyit asam, dan pahitan brotowali. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui ALT pada  jamu gendong di pasar Tanjung Rejo, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian dimulai penentuan dan pemilihan tempat pengambilan sampel. Langkah selanjutnya mempersiapkan bahan dan alat yang digunakan untuk uji ALT. Langkah pertama untuk uji ALT yaitu membuat pengenceran sampel jamu sebanyak 10-5 dengan cara sampel jamu diambil 1 ml dan NaCL 0,9% sebanyak 9 ml. Uji ALT menggunakan media Nutrient Agar. Kemudian di inkubasi selama 24 jam dengan posisi terbalik, dan hasilnya dibaca dengan colony counter. Pada penelitian didapatkan nilai ALT jamu gendong di pasar Tanjung Rejo, Kabupaten Sukoharjo untuk jamu daun pepaya temu ireng 1,4x107 koloni/ml - 5,2x107 koloni/ml, jamu kunyit asam 1,5x102 koloni/ml - 8,9x102 koloni/ml, jamu pahitan brotowali <1x101 koloni/ml - 2,8x103 koloni/ml. Hasil Angka Lempeng Total jamu daun pepaya temu ireng tidak memenuhi persyaratan peraturan BPOM No. 32 th 2019. Hasil Angka Lempeng Total jamu kunyit asam dan jamu pahitan brotowali memenuhi persyaratan peraturan BPOM No. 32 th 2019. Kata kunci : jamu gendong, angka lempeng total

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between mastery of English scientific vocabulary and comprehension of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) texts, particularly Microbiology and Physiotherapy texts. Data were obtained from 2 study programs: 16 Physiotherapy students and 26 Pharmacy students. Data were obtained by giving vocabulary and reading tests to students who had previously been taught English scientific vocabulary and reading of ESP texts. Vocabulary and reading materials taught and tested in the two Study Programs were different, based on the needs of the Study Programs. Data analysis was carried out using t test to determine the correlation between mastery of English scientific vocabulary and comprehension of ESP texts. Based on the analysis in Pharmacy students, there is a significant correlation between vocabulary scores and reading scores (P value <0.05). Meanwhile, in the correlation analysis of English scientific vocabulary mastery and physiotherapy texts comprehension, a value of 002 <0.05 was obtained, which means that there is a significant correlation of vocabulary scores and reading scores. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the mastery ​​of English scientific vocabulary and the comprehension of English for Specific Purposes Text.

Abstract

Buah jambu biji merah (Psidium guajava Linn) memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder yang melimpah, namun penentuan parameter ekstrak dengan pelarut air masih belum dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar flavonoid total dari ekstrak air buah jambu biji merah sebagai bagian kecil dari proses standarisasi ekstrak air buah jambu biji merah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Wilstater “cyanidin” untuk pengujian flavonoid secara kualitatif dan metode kolorimetri alumunium klorida (AlCl3) untuk pengujian secara kuantitatif. Penentuan panjang gelombang maksimal, operating time, kurva baku kuersetin dan penetapan kadar flavonoid sampel dilaksanakan menggunakan spektrofotometer Uv-Vis. Hasil pengujian kualitatif menunjukkan terjadinya perubahan warna menjadi oranye kekuningan, sementara hasil pengujian kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa kadar flavonoid ekstrak air buah jambu biji merah dapat diukur menggunakan kurva baku quercetin dengan panjang gelombang 350-500 dan operating time selama 30 menit Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak air buah jambu biji merah terdeteksi mengandung flavonoid dengan kadar sebesar 3,293±0,155 mgQE/g.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Air adalah salah satu sumber daya alam yang berperan penting bagi kehidupan makhluk hidup yang mendiami permukaan bumi, maka keberadaannya harus dilindungi untuk medukung kehidupan  bagi manusia atau makhluk hidup lainnya. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui nilai total coliform dan Escherichia coli pada air sumur bor yang digunakan masyarakat Dusun Pucangsawit dan mengetahui kesesuaian nilai  MPN coliform pada air sumur yang digunakan masyarakat Dusun Pucangsawit menurut Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 2 Tahun 2023 tentang Peraturan Pelaksanaan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 66 Tahun 2014 Tentang Kesehatan Lingkungan.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 10 sumur  yang terdapat Kelurahan Pucangsawit, Kecamatan Jebres, Kota Surakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengujian MPN coliform dan petrifilm untuk Escherichia coli. Pengujian MPN dilaksanakan dengan dua tahap yaitu tes pendahuluan dan penegasan. Pengujian statistik regresi dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui hubungan jarak sumber pencemar dengan nilai MPN coliform dan Escherichia coli.Hasil : Hasil diperoleh bahwa tidak terdapat sampel yang memenuhi Permenkes Nomor 2 Tahun 2023 terkait dengan batas cemaran coliform karena > 0 MPN/100 mL, namun keseluruhan sampel memenuhi batas yang dipersyaratkan untuk cemaran Escherichia coli. Pengujian statistik regresi yang dilaksanakan menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara jarak pencemar dengan cemaran coliform dan Escherichia coli (p value > 0,05).Simpulan : Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara jarak pencemar dengan nilai MPN dan Escherichia coli pada sampel di Kelurahan Pucangsawit.Seluruh sampel tidak memenuhi batas nilai coliform berdasarkan Permenkes Nomor 2 Tahun 2023, namun keseluruhannya memenuhi batas Escherichia coli. ABSTRACT Title:  Analysis Of Most Probable Number (MPN) Coliform and Escherichia coli Of Artesian Well In Pucangsawit Surakarta Sub District Background: Water is one of the natural resources that play an essential role for all living things on the planet, so it must be maintained. The study aims to determine the total number of coliform and Escherichia coli in artesian water in Pucangsawit village based on the Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 2 Tahun 2023 about the Implementation of Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 66 Tahun 2014 regarding to Enviromental Health.Method: The research was a quantitative descriptive research. Population used on this study were 10 artesian wells in Pucangsawit Village, Jebres, Subdistric, Surakarta City, Jawa Tengah. The method used in this study was Most Probable Number (MPN) method and petrifilm method to indicate total coliform and Escherichia coli contamination, respectively. The test was conducted in two stages: presumptive test and confirmative test. Regression analysis was carried out to determine correlation between contamination source distance with MPN coliform and Escherichia coli value. Results: The results showed that all of the samples did not meet the requirement form Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 2 Tahun 2023 for total coliform limit in water because it more than 0 MPN/100 mL, meanwhile all samples met the required regarding the limit of Escherichia coli. Regression analysis show that there is no correlation between contamination source distance and well depth with MPN coliform and Escherichia coli value (p value > 0,05%). Conclusion: The conclusion of the result is there is no samples that met the requirement conducted by Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 2 Tahun 2023 regarding the limit of coliform contamination, however all of the samples met the requirement of Escherichia coli contamination. Statistically, there is no correlation between contamination source distance and MPN and Escherichia coli value.

Abstract

This research employs a sociological approach to literature, drawing on Georg Simmel's social interaction theory and Karl Marx's class struggle concepts, to analyze the dynamics between the upper-class Crosses and the lower-class Noughts in the novel Noughts & Crosses. The study identifies five forms and six types of social interactions, encompassing superordination and subordination, exchange, conflict, prostitution, and sociability, along with character-based classifications such as the miser, the spendthrift, the stranger, the adventurer, the nobility, and the poor. The central focus lies in understanding the struggles of the Noughts in their pursuit of social equality within a deeply divided society. Despite collective and individual efforts, fueled by class consciousness and the formation of the Liberation Militia, the research concludes that achieving equality remains elusive. The powerful Crosses, driven by hidden manipulations and a desire to maintain the existing system, thwart the Noughts' endeavors, underscoring the persistent challenges faced by the lower class in a society marked by reverse racism.

Abstract

Psidium guajava L. adalah tumbuhan dari kelompok Myrtaceae yang dapat menghasilkan buah dalam jumlah besar untuk setiap masa panennya. Melimpahnya buah jambu biji merah dan kandungan fitokimianya menjadikan buah Psidium guajava memiliki potensi untuk dapat dikembangkan menjadi sediaan obat bahan alam yang lebih bermanfaat dengan proses ekstraksi menggunakan pelarut aquadest. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menambah informasi terkait dengan beberapa parameter mutu ekstrak air buah jambu biji merah (EAJM) sebagai salah satu tahapan dalam karakterisasi ekstrak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penetapan kadar abu, skrining fitokimia, penetapan kadar fenol, penetapan kadar minyak atsiri, dan pengujian cemaran mikroba. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa EAJM memiliki senyawa fenol, saponin, dan minyak atsiri, kadar abu sebesar 0,1425 ± 0,0028%,  kadar fenol sebesar 4,037±0,019 mgGAE/gram, kadar minyak atsiri sebesar 1,887%±0.029 %, nilai angka lempeng perkiraan dan angka kapang adalah 101 koloni/gram lebih rendah dari batas cemaran mikroba yang dipersyaratkan. Kata Kunci: Psidium guajava L., Ekstrak, Abu, Fenol, Cemaran Psidium guajava L. is a member of family Myrtaceae which can produce a lot of fruits in every harvesting time. The abundance of fruits and phytochemical content of Psidium guajava L. potentialy could be developed as a natural formulation. Aquadest can be used as a extraction solvent to maintain the safety of the yield. This study aims to supplement information related to the extract parameter as a step of Psidium guajava fruit aqueous extract (EAJM) characterization. This study done to determine the extract ash content, phytochemical screening, total phenolic content, essential oil content, and determine microbial contamination. The results showed that EAJM contains phenol, sapponin, and essential oil with ash content of 0,1425 ± 0,0028%,  total phenol of 4.037±0.019 mgGAE/gram, and essential oil content of 1.887%±0.029%. Microbial contamination test showed that the total bacterial and mould plate count were 101 cfu/gram which is lower than the contamination limit.

Abstract

Buah jambu biji merah merupakan komoditas pertanian dengan produksi yang relatif tinggi di Kabupaten Karanganyar. Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur merupakan salah satu kelompok tani yang bergerak dalam bidang pertanian buah jambu biji merah. Pada tahun 2023, Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur mengalami peningkatan produksi buah jambu biji merah sebanyak 8 ton, lebih tinggi dari tahun 2022. Kemelimpahan buah jambu biji merah di Kelompok Tani Candi Makmur menyebabkan beberapa kendala diantaranya adalah keterserapan buah jambu biji merah yang masih belum maksimal, harga jual yang sangat rendah di pengepul pertama, hingga produk olahan buah jambu biji merah yang kurang beragam. Pelatihan pembuatan simplisia dan paper soap buah jambu biji merah bertujuan untuk menjaga nilai guna, nilai jual, dan meningkatkan diversifikasi olahan buah jambu biji merah di kala keterserapannya yang belum maksimal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama bulan Mei hingga Juni di Dusun Candi, Jatirejo, Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar. Kegiatan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan mampu menambah kemampuan anggota kelompok tani untuk menghasilkan simplisia dengan kadar air kurang dari 10% dan keterampilan dalam membuat paper soap buah jambu biji merah.

Abstract

Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa Boerl) is a medical plant of the Thymelaeaceae family originating from Indonesia, precisely from Papua. Phaleria macrocarpa Boerl the deity has been known in various treatments such as diabetes, cancer, liver, dysentery, allergic diabetes, eczema, or gout and others (Ratna & Wiwi, 2014). The purpose of this study is to find out whether extract ethanolic 96% of Phaleria macrocarpa Boerl can inhibit the growth of K. pneumoniae, and to know what concentration of extract ethanolic 96% of Phaleria macrocarpa goodnes to inhibit K. pneumoniae. The method used is the Kirby Bauer Method. With the average inhibition zone concentrations is 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20% respectively 17.41mm, 15.37mm, 12.60mm, 11.10mm, 6.43mm.
