Abstract

Teenage pregnancy may result poor birth outcomes , such as the risk of stunting , infantmortality, premature and Low Birth Weight ( LBW ) . This study aimed to determine the perceptions ofhigh school girls in two different environments , namely rural and urban areas regarding teen pregnancy.The data included perceptions about nutrition and reproductive health , marriage and teen age pregnancy, premaritalpregnancy , as well as nutrition and health during pregnancy.This study was conductedin SMA Negeri 1 Lewiliang, Bogor Regency and SMA Negeri 1 Bogor City with total subjectsweresix people. The result of this study showed a similar perception of the reproductive health of youngwomenin both rural and urban area . Subjects from the countryside can still tolerate teenage marriageandpregnancy if there is readiness of teenagers. In contrast, the subjects in urban areas do not thinkofan excuse to get married in young age . Youngwomen in the village can express more detailaboutfoodthat should be consumed or avoided , including food relating to taboo. In addition, young womeninthe village can provide more in-depth opinion about health care during pregnancy.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research aimed to assess the impact of interventions to the behaviour changes of household food consumption and to search the role of community institutions in accelerating the achievement of the millennium eco-village. The study involved thirty households in Desa Petir, Dramaga Subdistrict, District of Bogor (15 agricultural and 15 non agricultural-households). Pre and post test method was used to analyze the behaviour change, and focused group discussions were conducted to explore initiatives of the community group toward eco-village. The results indicated the changes of expenditure proportion for food and non food. At the agricultural households, changes are from 61.7% to 53.9%, whereas in the non agricultural household, the changes are from 59.9% to 41%. Food consumption for under five children become more diverse, nutritious, and balanced. Life Style on Clean Life and Health (PHBS) on family farmers and non farmers become better. Cooperation between community groups, local leaders, the government, and facilitators could strengthen institution to enable real action towards the millennium eco-village.Key words: food consumption, MDGs, social institutionsABSTRAKTujuan penelitian secara umum adalah untuk mengembangkan model millennium eco-village melalui intervensi prinsip eco-village. Sebanyak 30 keluarga terpilih sebagai subjek yang terdiri dari 15 keluarga petani (KP) dan 15 keluarga non-petani (KNP). Metode penelitian pre dan post digunakan untuk mengukur dampak intervensi terhadap perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) dan peran kelembagaan masyarakat dalam percepatan pencapaian MDGs. Hasil menunjukkan perubahan pada proporsi pengeluaran pangan dan non pangan, yakni pada KP dari 61.7% menjadi 53.9%, sedangkan pada KNP dari 59.9% menjadi 41%. Meskipun perubahan antara kedua kelompok tersebut tidak signifikan, namun terdapat peningkatan dalam kesejahteraan petani. Terjadi perbaikan status gizi balita yang signifikan (p=0.009). Terjadi perubahan konsumsi pangan balita menjadi lebih Beragam, Bergizi, dan Berimbang (3B). PHBS pada KP maupun KNP menjadi lebih baik. Kerjasama antara kelompok masyarakat, pemimpin informal, pemerintah desa, dan kader desa dapat memperkuat kelembagaan sosial.Kata kunci: kelembagaan sosial, konsumsi pangan, MDGs

Abstract

Background: Adequate nutrition plays an important roles for children on school age to developed and maintain their growth and health. Many factors could affect the nutritional status of school children, one of them is the school location.Objectives: To analysis the correlation between school location with nutritional status of elementary school students.Method: The research design used was a cross-sectional design. 80 subjects were observed from two different schools namely SDN 1 Cikelet Garut (Urban) and SDN Pesanggrahan 02 Pagi Jakarta Selatan (Rural). The relationship of school location and gender with nutritional status were analyzed using Chi Square. Independent Sample T-test used to analyze nutritional status based on different locations.Result: In rural there are 25% of children with over nutritional status (weight/age). There are still stunted child both in urban (7.50%) and rural (10%), but based on weight/height nutritional status, almost all subjects in both urban (92.50%) and rural (97.50%) in obese category. Chi Square analysis showed that the school location was significantly related (P 0.05) only with the weight/age nutritional status. Gender is significantly related to height/age nutritional status. The majority of boys (15,4%) are shorter than girls (2,4%). The results of the Independent Sample T-test based on location, showed that the nutritional status of subjects in urban was significantly different (P0.05) from the nutritional status of subjects in rural. In line with this, based in gender there is significantly different (P0.05) in nutritional status between boy and girl.Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that differences in school locations are related to the nutritional status of elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Asupan serat pada lansia sangat penting untuk dipenuhi. Namun faktanya di lapangan asupan serat pada lansia masih rendah. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan edukasi tentang pentingnya konsumsi serat untuk mewujudkan lansia SERASI (Sehat dengan Makan Sayur dan Buah Setiap Hari). Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan pada 37 lansia di Poslansia Subadra, Desa Sinarsari, Kecamatan Dramaga, Bogor. Kegiatan yang dirancang berupa kegiatan pengukuran status gizi dan asam urat, edukasi, demo pembuatan jus SERASI, dan Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT). Materi edukasi mencakup manfaat serat, pangan sumber serat, berbagai olahan sayuran dan buah-buahan yang dapat diterapkan di rumah untuk dikonsumsi dari bahan bahan yang mudah ditemui sehari-hari, serta penyakit akibat kurang konsumsi serat. PMT diberikan berupa biskuit yang aman dan dapat dikonsumsi oleh lansia. Hasil kegiatan ini sebanyak 80% lansia mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan setelah dilakukan edukasi dengan perbedaan nilai pre-test dan post-test yang signifikan (p<0.05). Diharapkan dengan kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan dengan pendekatan HBM terjadi perbaikan asupan serat pada lansia.Abstract: Consumption of fiber is important for the elderly. However, the elderly continue to consume a little amount of fiber. As a consequence, education about the need for a fiber-rich diet is necessary to attain elderly’s SERASI (healthy by eating vegetables and fruits every day). 37 elderly citizens benefitted from this community service initiative in Poslansia Subadra, Sinarsari Village, Dramaga District, Bogor. The activities designed are in the form of measuring nutritional status and uric acid, education, demonstration of making SERASI juice, and Supplementary Food Provision (PMT). The educational materials included information about the health benefits of fiber, diseases linked with a lack of fiber intake, fiber-rich meals, and various processed vegetables and fruits made at home using easily available ingredients. The PMT was given to the elderly in the form of safe-to-eat cookies. The results of this exercise showed that 80% of elderly participants acquired knowledge after teaching, with a significant change in pre-and post-test scores (p<0.05). The HBM approach was expected to result in an increase in fiber intake among the elderly.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Sarapan dengan menu bergizi seimbang adalah salah satu pilar gizi seimbang. Namun faktanya masih banyak yang meninggalkan sarapan, termasuk anak sekolah. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kebiasaan sarapan, kebiasaan jajan siswa sekolah MI Al-Falah Jakarta terhadap status gizi. Metode yang digunakan cross sectional pada 70 orang siswa sekolah MI Al-Falah yang terdiri dari siswa kelas empat dan lima. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Pengukuran status gizi meliputi berat badan dan tinggi badan dilakukan menggunakan timbangan digital dan mikrotoise. Perhitungan IMT/U dilakukan menggunakan software WHO AnthroPlus. Analisis data menggunakan uji beda independent t-test. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan status gizi antara anak yang rutin sarapan dengan yang jarang sarapan (p value > 0,05), namun terdapat perbedaan berat badan yang signifikan antara anak yang rutin sarapan dengan yang jarang sarapan (p value = 0,018). Berat badan juga berbeda signifikan berdasarkan kebiasaan sarapan dengan menu hasil memasak dirumah atau membeli (p value = 0,020). Tidak ada perbedaan frekuensi jajan di sekolah antara siswa yang rutin sarapan ataupun jarang sarapan (p value > 0,05). Kesimpulannya sarapan atau tidak, anak-anak tetap melakukan jajan di sekolah dan melewatkan sarapan mungkin menyebabkan kelebihan berat badan. Abstract

Masalah gizi dalam daur kehidupan biasa disebut dengan istilah “Lingkaran Setan”. Hal ini karena siklus permasalahan gizi tersebut berisikan fase-fase kehidupan yang memiliki rantai permasalahan gizi saling berkaitan dengan fase kehidupan setelahnya. Salah satu fase yang menentukan dalam penanggulangan masalah gizi adalah fase usia anak sekolah. Edukasi gizi dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran di era 4.0. dapat menjadi salah satu upaya untuk meingkatkan kesehatan dan gizi anak sekolah berkaitan dengan daur kehidupan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi siswa anak sekolah dengan media edukasi games daur kehidupan (DEKAZI Games). Kegiatan dilakukan di SIT SD Plus Bina Bangsa Sejahtera Kota Bogor secara daring pada bulan Agustus 2021. Metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini terdiri tiga tahap yaitu identifikasi masalah gizi, pembuatan website games, dan pelaksanaan program. Efektifitas media edukasi games DEKAZI di evaluasi dengan menggunakan pre-post tests. Post-tests dilakukan setelah siswa diberikan kesempatan untuk memainkan games selama tiga hari. Hasil dari kegiatan ini didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan dengan rata-rata sebesar 18% yakni dari 69% siswa yang menjawab benar saat pre-test menjadi 84% siswa yang menjawab benar saat post-test. Oleh karena itu, games ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi dalam daur kehidupan, khususnya anak usia sekolah.

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease is one of the leading causes of dementia caused by a progressive decline in cognitive function. In Indonesia, the incidence of Alzheimer's disease increases from year to year. Nutritional intake and physical activity are associated with a reduced risk of Alzheimer's disease. The objectives are to describe the intake of macronutrients, micronutrients, and cognitive function of the elderly and to analyze the relationship between intake of macronutrients and micronutrients with cognitive function. The research design used cross-sectional. The subject was 60 older women who met the inclusion criteria. The data collected in primary data include characteristics, intake of macronutrients, and micronutrients (fiber, folic acid, vitamin B12) using 24-hour Food Recall; cognitive function data using the Short Portable Mental Status Questionnaire depression level data using the Geriatric Depression Scale questionnaire. The relationship between nutritional intake and cognitive function was analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The average intake of macronutrients except for fat and micronutrients of the subjects was in the lower category. There was a significant relationship between fiber and folic acid intake with cognitive function.  As many as 53.33% of the elderly have a normal cognitive function, and the rest (46.67%) have impaired cognitive function, ranging from mild to severe. There is a significant relationship between fiber and folic acid intake with cognitive function. Fiber and folic acid intake must be increased to prevent cognitive decline in the elderly.

Abstract

Abstrak: Stunting adalah salah satu kondisi akibat kekurangan gizi yang menghambat pertumbuhan linier pada balita. Penyebab umum stunting adalah kurangnya pengetahuan ibu tentang stunting serta rendahnya perilaku pemberian MPASI berkualitas pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan. Oleh karena itu, program yang dilakukan berupa upaya percepatan penurunan stunting dengan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu serta kader tentang stunting, pembentukan Dapur Sehat Atasi Stunting (DASHAT), pelatihan pengelolaan MPASI, serta intervensi gizi pada bayi berisiko stunting. Metode pelaksanaan yakni dengan penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan Tim DASHAT. Program berlangsung pada bulan Juni hingga September 2022 di Kelurahan Padasuka. Hasil kegiatan ini terbentuknya Tim DASHAT yang dikukuhkan dengan SK Lurah Padasuka. Terselenggaranya penyuluhan stunting kepada kader dan ibu bayi. Tim DASHAT mendapatkan pelatihan pengelolaan MPASI dan melakukan intervensi gizi berupa pemberian MPASI kepada bayi beresiko stunting selama 60 hari. Pengetahuan kader meningkat saat post-test rata-rata sebanyak 11 poin dari skor pre-test. Keterampilan kader dalam pengelolaan penyelenggaraan MPASI bagi bayi usia 6-9 bulan meningkat 100% dari yang awalnya tidak memahami menjadi dapat melaksanakan. Rata-rata konsumsi MPASI sebesar 84.7% dikonsumsi habis oleh bayi sasaran dengan rata-rata kenaikan berat badan bayi sebesar 544.4 gram. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader, meningkatkan berat badan bayi sesuai standar usia sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya stunting. Abstract: Stunting is a condition caused by malnutrition that inhibits linear growth in toddlers. The common cause of stunting is the lack of maternal knowledge about stunting and the low behavior of providing quality complementary food to infants aged 6-12 months. Therefore, this program aims to accelerate the reduction of stunting by increasing cadres' knowledge about stunting, forming a Healthy Kitchen to Overcome Stunting (DASHAT), training in complementary food management, and nutritional interventions for infants at risk of stunting. The implementation method is counseling, training, and mentoring the DASHAT Team. The program took place from June to September 2022 in Padasuka Village. The results of this activity were the formation of the DASHAT Team, which the Decree of the Padasuka Urban Village Head confirmed—organized stunting counseling to cadres and baby mothers. The DASHAT team received training in complementary food management and conducted nutritional interventions in the form of complementary food provision to infants at risk of stunting for 60 days. Cadre knowledge increased during the post-test by an average of 11 points from the pre-test score. The skills of cadres in managing the provision of complementary food for infants aged 6-9 months increased 100% from not understanding to being able to implement the program. The average consumption of complementary food was 84.7% consumed by target infants, with an average weight gain of 544.4 grams. This program succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of cadres, increasing baby weight according to age standards to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Anemia merupakan permasalahan yang sering terjadi terutama pada kelompok rentan seperti ibu hamil. Anemia yang umum terjadi yaitu disebabkan karena kurang asupan zat besi. Salah satu dampak yang terjadi pada ibu hamil yang mengalami anemia yaitu menyebabkan berat bayi lahir rendah (BBLR) dimana dapat beresiko menyababkan stunting di kemudian hari. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil mengenai pencegahan anemia kehamilan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penyuluhan menggunakan media booklet kepada sebanyak 17 orang ibu hamil di Kantor Kelurahan Padasuka. Evaluasi dari kegiatan penyuluhan diukur menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test yang diisi oleh ibu hamil. Berdasarkan data yang sudah di analisis diketahui bahwa terjadi peningkatan rata-rata skor yaitu dari skor pre-test sebesar 62,4 menjadi 69 pada skor post-test. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil setelah diberikan penyuluhan.
