Abstract

This study aimed to present a literature review on the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based media in enhancing the learning process at the elementary school level. The study used a systematic literature review method, concentrating on the theme of AI-based media in elementary education. The main sources used are writings and documents related to the use of AI-based media in learning at the elementary school level. Apart from that, this research also collects data from secondary sources such as books and academic articles that discuss the use of AI-based media in learning in general to provide a broader understanding. After data collection, data analysis was carried out to identify the use of AI-based media in learning. This analysis involved breaking down concepts and how these concepts were implemented in learning at the elementary school level. Based on the findings from the literature review, the utilization of AI-based media in elementary education has the potential to deliver a learning experience tailored to students’ needs. Moreover, AI-based media supports the implementation of game-based learning, fostering a more challenging and dynamic educational environment that actively engages students. Additionally, the use of AI-based media contributes to the development of students’ competencies. The competencies that can be enhanced include critical thinking, communication, and creativity. Therefore, implementing AI-based media in elementary school education should take into account the needs of students, which can lead to significant improvements in their competencies.

Abstract

The low level of students' critical thinking skills negatively impacts the Literacy Development Index. Critical thinking is a solution for developing literacy skills; in other words, if students possess strong critical thinking abilities, the Literacy Index will improve. This study aims to analyze the effect of intensive reading activities using expository texts on students' critical thinking skills. This research employs a quantitative approach with a true experimental design, specifically a pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection methods include observation and tests, analyzed using SPSS version 27. The research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2, Bogor Regency, with a sample size of 47 students. The analysis conducted includes: 1) descriptive analysis, which describes research variables through percentages, and 2) t-test to statistically compare the two groups. The results indicate that the experimental group achieved a higher percentage of critical thinking skills than the control group. The post-test scores of the experimental group were significantly higher, demonstrating a positive impact and significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills facilitated by intensive reading techniques using expository texts. This study concludes that learning activities utilizing intensive reading techniques effectively enhance students' critical thinking skills. Consequently, improving students' critical thinking skills will contribute to advancements in the Literacy Development Index.

Abstract

This evaluation study aims to evaluate the extracurricular program of reading the Qur'an at MIN Bone through a qualitative approach where the data is sourced from the results of interviews, documentation, and observations, which are then analyzed by reducing, presenting, and verifying the data, then drawing it into a final conclusion. The results show that the context aspect is stated to have met the needs of MIN 1 Bone students and received adequate resource support, so this program is said to have run well. Various criteria set in the input aspect have also been met, such as the availability of facilities and infrastructure, the competence of program supervisors, and the number of students participating in the program to be considered running well. However, the process aspect is considered quite good because there are still obstacles, especially student discipline. Meanwhile, several main objectives of the program cannot be realized optimally in the product aspect where the total number of students who have successfully memorized the Qur'an is still low compared to the number of program participants so this aspect is considered less good. Therefore, improvements are needed to implement the program to achieve the desired goals.
