Abstract

Halal certification plays an important role for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, especially in Sukodadi District, Lamongan Regency. However, the low understanding and awareness of business actors regarding the benefits and procedures of halal certification is a major obstacle. Many MSMEs consider this process to be complicated, costly and does not provide significant economic benefits. Therefore, this community service activity aims to increase understanding and assist MSMEs in obtaining halal certification through a self-declare scheme. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involves the active participation of MSMEs in each stage, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assistance was provided to ten MSMEs with various types of products, including socialization, facilitation of the creation of Business Identification Numbers (NIB), and submission of halal certification through the SIHalal system. As a solution to the limited quota of free halal certification from the government, facilitators registered MSMEs through a simpler and faster self-declare scheme. The results of this assistance show that all assisted MSMEs have successfully obtained halal certification from BPJPH, with nine of them also being assisted in the NIB creation process. In addition, this activity increases the understanding of business actors regarding the urgency of halal certification. It opens up opportunities for wider market access, including to supermarket chains and modern stores. This program also strengthens social networks between MSMEs and increases local community awareness of the importance of halal-certified products.

Abstract

Education is the cornerstone of national development; however, access to education in remote areas of Indonesia remains limited. Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding Schools), as long-established Islamic educational institutions, hold significant potential in addressing this disparity, particularly in hard-to-reach mountainous regions. This article examines the role of Pondok Pesantren Al Fatih As Syafii in empowering education in remote areas through the integration of technology. By utilizing technology, Islamic boarding schools can enhance the quality of education, reduce disparities, and expand access to information for students. Beyond education, these institutions also function as centers for social and economic development, nurturing the character and skills of students. The appropriate application of technology can strengthen Pondok Pesantren's role in preparing a more competitive generation for the digital age. This research contributes to understanding how Pondok Pesantren can serve as key drivers in bridging the educational gap in remote areas and promoting a more inclusive, technology-enhanced learning environment.

Abstract

As a tropical country, Indonesia has a lot of plants. Some of them are believed to be useful for herbal medicine to prevent or even cure many diseases. However, not many Indonesians know that the traditional herbal drink which is known with “jamu” can be a substitute of UHT milk for elderly people. The goals of the researchers were to improve health for the society, especially for elderly people. This study was done to overcome health problems in society, especially in Bondowoso. Herbal drink can be an excellent alternative for villagers because it is cheap, the materials are easy to find, easy to make, and for heritage sustainability. Besides, it was also hoped to improve the living standards of society by selling it in many platforms. ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) Method was applied in this research. This was done in Pekauman Village, Grujugan District, Bondowoso Regency. The result showed that the training to make traditional herbal drinks was held successfully. Most of society could make the herbal drink well. This activity was useful for the Pekauman people because it could increase their immune system, and increase their living standards. Abstract

The target of this Community Partnership Program (PKM) is the students of Madrasah An Nashar in Makassar. Based on initial communications, several issues were identified: a lack of knowledge and awareness among students regarding journalistic photography, particularly in sports; limited education and exposure to photography; a scarcity of basic photography training in Makassar; and the absence of photography as a core subject in secondary schools. The training methods included lectures, demonstrations, Q &A sessions, and mentoring. The outcomes revealed a significant enhancement in participants' competitiveness, especially in journalistic and creative photography. During practical sessions, all participants were challenged to produce journalistic and creative photos aligned with the training theme, sharing their best work on social media platforms. Twenty active members of the student council attended the training, with full participation in demonstrations and practices, indicating the program's success. Evaluation through simulations and group assignments before and after the training assessed knowledge levels and responses to sports photography practices. The structured approach of delivering theoretical content prior to practical application proved effective, fostering independence and confidence among participants. The program's comprehensive execution, from preparation to field implementation, successfully engaged students in active learning.

Abstract

Students are not only involved in academic activity at school. They also need to develop themselves in leadership and confidence. Public speaking is one of the skills that help them in self-actualizing which motivated the researcher to conduct a workshop. “Public Speaking for Youth” was held at SMAN 28 Tangerang Regency to elevate student’s ability in public speaking and to build their confidence when they communicate. As part of Generation z, they still cannot handle their insecurities. However, this training prepared the students with techniques to avoid nervousness, effective communication and presentation skills. Students were involved in the lecture, interactive discussion, practical activity, and did the evaluation. The author spread some questionnaire to student which results were processed with descriptive analysis. They appeared with enthusiasm and applied the theory in a structured and convincing performance. The results showed that students felt more confident to speak in front of audience and they consider this training is very satisfactory, even though they expected some more time for the duration. This training would not be successful without the collaboration between facilitator, university, and school who commit to support our young generation. Public Speaking for Youth is expected to be the first step for students to develop their communication skills and to be an individual who are fearless to speak in any situation.

Abstract

Malnutrition remains a major issue for infants and children under five years old. Stunting is one of nutrition problems among children in Indonesia and continues to be a focal point in health concerns. The 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) indicates that approximately 1 in 5 children aged 0-59 months in Indonesia suffer from stunting. The aim of this community service is to provide health education to enhance mothers' knowledge and skills in preparing Complementary Feeding (MPASI) and to raise awareness about the long-term impacts of stunting in the Nagari Sijunjung Traditional Village. The results of the pre-test and post-test measuring mothers' knowledge of MPASI showed that the highest percentage of knowledge before the intervention was in the sufficient category, while after the intervention, it improved to the good category. There was a notable increase in the percentage of mothers with good knowledge after receiving educational interventions through counseling and cooking demonstrations. In conclusion, counseling and cooking demonstrations on MPASI can improve mothers' knowledge about MPASI, and it is recommended that health workers optimize mothers' knowledge by conducting repeated face-to-face sessions.

Abstract

There is still a need for a higher level of participation from lecturers in implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education to produce scholarly publications. One solution is to initiate the Public Administration Research and Development Team (TERPADU) to enhance scholarly publications, particularly for lecturers in the Public Administration study program at FISIP. The approach method used in this community partnership program includes AKPL Criteria, USG Analysis, and Fishbone Analysis to determine the priority issues and root causes of problems. Thus, TERPADU can become the smallest unit in the technical implementation and substance of research activities. Based on the research plan targets for new Public Administration (AP) lecturers over the next five years, there are three main focuses that reflect a commitment to the development of public administration knowledge. One lecturer plans to develop a theory in this field, which is essential to strengthen the academic foundation and contribute to the literature. Second, seven lecturers target publications in reputable international journals, reflecting an awareness of the importance of global visibility and credibility in the academic community; support from the institution through writing training and access to resources is crucial. Overall, the lecturers expect the institution to be more active in supporting research and community service activities, not only with proportional funding but also by creating a collaborative and innovative academic environment. With the right support, the Public Administration Study Program is expected to produce high-quality research and community service, relevant to the needs of society, and provide a significant contribution to social development and public policy.
