Abstract

Sea transportation is the artery for an island nation. Indonesia, which has a large number of islands, needs adequate sea transportation facilities. Ironically, as a maritime country the Indonesian sea transportation system is in shambles. This is proven by the large number of accidents at sea. Marine ship crashes caused hundreds of lives of Indonesian people to float. The causes of accidents vary, ranging from fires, overloading to the age of the manipulated vessels. This condition is exacerbated by the weak level of supervision from policy makers. The government's mistake in its current national development policy is to prioritize land base oriented. So that strategies related to sea affairs do not get priority. As a result of the wrong strategy, the policies and implementation in the field of sea transportation are chaotic. As a consequence, sea transportation which should be the mainstay of the community actually becomes a frightening transport. The level of ship accidents is a consequence of lost control. Without warning, the shipping operator / operator determines a cautious attitude towards accidents at sea. Ship accidents at sea not only give consequences to casualties but also costs that must be borne to cover the trend of the ship's accident.

Abstract

In the process of identifying the passenger identity of the ship there are some problems that arise is the problem identification and verification, which makes the process inefficient identity recognition. Verification problems will be solved by the method of iris recognition, which proved to be efficiently used to solve problems such as identity recognition process. The results showed that the method is able to verify the iris recognition eye imagery with a 100% success rate for the same test images to the image database of the same eye. Testing different test images with the image database from the same eye (intra-class) generates False Non Match Rate (FNMR) 15,90% and Genuine Acceptance Rate (GAR) can be calculated by the formula GAR = 1 – FNMR, or GAR = 1 – 15,90% the result is 84,10%. Testing different test images with the image database of different eyes (inter-class) generates a False Match Rate (FMR) 27,72%.

Abstract

This study aims to prove and analyze the influence of individual characteristics and organizational climate on the performance of lecturer of Hang Tuah University Surabaya. Individual characteristics: are traits - traits that distinguish one individual with another individual that is inherent to the individual and affect the work of individuals and organizations (Gibson, et al., 1990; Suprihanto, 2003; Winardi, 2004; Robbins, 2006). Individual characteristics are operationally measured using the following four dimensions: Ability, Skills, Age, Working Period Organizational climate is the atmosphere that is in the internal environment of perceived individual organizations in the work (Schneider and Hall, 1972; Campbe, et al, 1970; Litwin and Stringger, 1986; Hinggins, 1982, Limster, 1985). Organizational climate is operationally measured by the following five dimensions; Individual Autonomy, Support, Orientation on Awards, Warmth, Trust, Lecture performance. Performance is the result of individual work in the form of quantity and quality during a certain work time (Gomes, 1995; Judge 1996; Mathis and Jackson, 2002; Gibson et al, 2006; Sudiro, A., 2008; Republic of Indonesia Law No. 13 of 2005 about teachers and lecturers) Lecturer performance is measured through the following three dimensions: Education and Teaching, Research, Community Service. The population in this study were all permanent lecturers of Hang Tuah University who were permanent lecturers of foundations and permanent lecturers of the state who were assisted in PTS (lecturers of DPK) totaling 257 people. This study uses a research sample of 200 permanent foundation lecturers and permanent lecturers with the status of Civil Servants assigned to Hang Tuah University.  The results of regression equation research: Y = -11.135+ 0.493X1 + 0.165X2. Hypothesis testing: Effect of Individual Characteristics on the performance of Hang Tuah University Surabaya lecturers. The Individual Characteristics variable (X1) based on the calculation is obtained by value t count amounted to 13.010 > t table at 1.9720 with a significance level of 0000 < alpha 5% then H0 rejected and H1 accepted at a significance level of 5% so characteristic individu significant effect on the performance of a lecturer at the University of Hang Tuah. The influence of organizational climate on the performance of Hang Tuah University Surabaya lecturers. Organizational Climate Variable (X2) based on calculations obtained t count value of 5.906 > t table of 1.9720 with a significance level of 0.000 < alpha 5% then H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted at a significance level of 5% so that the Organization's Climate had a significant effect on the performance of lecturers in Hang Tuah University.

Abstract

PT. Aspan (Asuransi Purna Artanugraha) Branch Surabaya is a company engaged in the field of insurance services. There are several businesses in the offer by PT. Aspan Surabaya Branch, among others: Marine Hull Insurance, Cargo Insurance, Auto Insurance, Fire Insurance, Engineering Insurance (CAR & EAR), Personal Accident Insurance, Insurance Aircraft. The process begins with the issuance of the policy on charging SPPA by the insured party, which proceed to entry data from the SPPA to policy issuance request form. Handling claims in PT. Aspan Surabaya branch has its own capacity, if the claims submitted by the insured is not the capacity of the branch office in the proposed claims will be processed at the headquarters of PT. Aspan. Based on the discussion on the operational procedures in the cargo shortage claims handling cargo insurance of ships PT. Aspan Surabaya branch can be concluded as follows. The first one is the cause of the cargo shortage claims state of the charge current on the boat sailing from place of origin to destination. Second, document archiving policy insurance at PT. Aspan Surabaya Branch to facilitate evaluation of the document when the insured to make a cargo shortage claims. Third, employees of PT. Aspan Surabaya branch already working optimally so that the procedures for handling cargo shortage claims undone well and get good results.

Abstract

In a world cruise is not just one or two companies involved but a lot of companies working together with other agencies or other companies inside and outside the country, therefore dibutukan mutually beneficial cooperation, among others, are chartered tugs conducted by PT. Pelindo Marine Service (shipowner) with the Division of Ship Agency Assist and Telecommunications Branch of Tanjung Perak Surabaya (charterer) in chartered tugs made by both these agencies using the system charter, namely the system on hire is a matter of the charter while the ship can be used on and off hire that count time charter vessels can not be used. Basically the system is carried out to determine the price difference when going off hire, hire yourself going off caused by several factors such as damage to aircraft engines and propellers damaged. The purpose of this study was to determine the price of the rent charter that has previously been determined to be changing due to off hire it done so that the charterer does not have a loss in addition to the remainder of the fuel in the ship when going off hire are also taken into account it is usually done by operational division side charterer. All calculations are done in order to find a price agreement and the remaining fuel in accordance with the day and time of the vessel can work (on hire). The theory used in this research is by Purwosutjipto HMN in his book "Understanding Trade Law" which describes the definition of charter and various types of agreements charter while also using the theory of Sudjatmiko FDC in "Fundamentals of Sailing Commerce" who develop the content of the book in various kind of way of calculating the rent charter and explain the system on and off hire. The method used in this study is a qualitative addition to the interviews and direct observation to the PT. Pelindo Marine Service. Results from this study is the system on and off hire highly dependent on ships that can operate or not because it will affect the rental price charter has changed from the original price caused the ship can not operate. The operational part of charterer very influential to recalculate the rent charter and do a re-fuel sounding when off hire occur, it is done so that the charterer does not lose. Researchers recommended to further research in order to develop a research system on and off hire charter on the shipowner and charterer because in this study the researchers focus count the demise charter as a matter of off hire researchers used a system that is often used by the charterer.

Abstract

PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is acompany engaged in the field of services providing transportation services and loading and unloading. PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is one special terminal, which serves the activities of domestic container stevedoring services, exports and imports. To make expenditures, service users must complete the documents so that the goods can be released or taken by the owner of the goods. At the time of import containers expenditures activity occurs current long build up of containers, especially at the out gate of imports, this occurs because of an error in the form of a document mismatch of container and container physical damage. To support the smooth flow of goods, then PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya gives procedures (ordinance) to make expenditures or import activities. In the absence of procedures then the service users do not know or will find it difficult to do a collection of goods that have been imported. Therefore, the Performance Evaluation Expenditure Service Container Import in PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya wich aims to improve the achievement of targets appropriate and desires of the goods (consignee), so that PT. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya can provide the best service to customers (service users).

Abstract

This paper tries to examine one of the important aspects of economic theory, namely distribution theory, in the perspective of sharia that begins: with the weakness of the capitalist distribution system, the problems arising from capitalist distribution and ends with the effort to deconstruct the distribution system in the shari'ah perspective . With regard to the theory of distribution, in a capitalist economy is done by giving freedom of freedom and freedom of effort for all individuals of society, so that every individual society is free to obtain wealth that he is capable of and in accordance with the production factors he has by not paying attention to whether the distribution is evenly felt by all individual community or only partially. The results of the study show that the Islamic economic system strongly protects the interests of every citizen both rich and poor by giving moral responsibility to the rich to pay attention to the poor. Capitalist theory and Islamic theory (shari'ah), each of which has a deep but different rationale in providing solutions or solutions to the problem of inequality in distribution of both the distribution of wealth and the distribution of justice. The capitalist economic system tends to be pragmatic in solving economic problems within the community and the state, while the Islamic economic system (sharia) is more aimed at horizontal and vertical integrality emphasis, encouraging the achievement of prosperity and success in both the world and the hereafter.
