Abstract

Food security, crucial for ensuring access to sufficient, nutritious food, is a key government focus. This study examines the food security program in Watutulis Village, Prambon District, aimed at achieving economic independence. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with purposive sampling of knowledgeable informants. Results show successful efforts in food production and access, notably through fish farming, but limited utilization of these resources beyond household consumption. The study suggests enhancing collaborations with local businesses to create value-added food products, driving economic growth and independence for the village. Abstract

This study examines the role of the Sidoarjo Regency Manpower Office in determining the Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK). Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with key informants such as workers' unions, employers, and government officials. The findings reveal that the Manpower Office effectively facilitates wage determination by providing necessary infrastructure, forming wage councils, and aligning with central government regulations. However, improvements in infrastructure efficiency and the development of clearer, faster regulatory methods are needed. This research highlights the office's strengths and areas for enhancement in setting fair minimum wages. Abstract

This research analyzes the role of the Village Community Empowerment Institution (LPMD) in the development of Watesnegoro village, Ngoro sub-district, Mojokerto district. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected from the village head, LPMD head, village secretary, treasurer, and planning officer through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study finds that while LPMD efforts in socialization, training, and community skill improvement are positive, overall effectiveness is limited by low community participation and inadequate human resources. Enhancing community involvement and human resource quality is essential for the success of LPMD programs and village economic development. Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study investigates the implementation of PermenPAN RB No. 6 of 2022 on civil service performance assessment at BKD Sidoarjo, Indonesia. Using interviews, observation, and documentation, the research explores how the policy provides subjective assessments, tracks employee work for personal and organizational evaluation, and involves stakeholders in the assessment process. Findings indicate that the policy aligns with stakeholder expectations, facilitates dialogue between employees and superiors, and employs various strategies for performance evaluation. This study contributes to understanding policy implementation dynamics in public administration, emphasizing the importance of aligning policy objectives with practical strategies to improve employee competency and organizational effectiveness in the public sector. Abstract

This qualitative study examines the quality of population administration services in Bluru Kidul Village, Indonesia, aligning with the government's mandate to provide essential services as per Law Number 25 of 2009. Through interviews, observations, and document analysis, the research evaluates service quality dimensions including tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Findings indicate a favorable service environment, prompt and accurate service provision, swift handling of requests, caring employee attitudes, and friendly, non-discriminatory treatment of service users. These insights offer valuable guidance for policymakers and administrators to enhance service quality, thereby fostering greater citizen satisfaction and trust in government institutions. Abstract

This study examines the role of the Sruni Village Government in waste management in Gedangan District. Despite efforts to improve waste management, challenges persist due to a lack of community understanding. The government has introduced facilities like a waste bank to reduce careless waste disposal. Using a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling, the research identifies four roles: stabilizer (implementing environmental programs), innovator (lacking in providing training), modernizer (establishing a waste bank), and pioneer (promoting independent waste sorting). Key challenges include community reluctance to segregate waste and inadequate waste collection facilities. The study underscores the need for better education and infrastructure to enhance waste management practices. Abstract

This study analyzes the performance of village officials in Glagaharum Village's administrative services using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman's techniques. Evaluated through T. R. Mitchell's indicators—Work Quality, Communication, Timeliness, Ability, and Initiative—the findings reveal that while technical guidance improves service quality, communication and technological challenges persist. Many officials lack technological skills, affecting service timeliness and initiative. The study highlights the need for targeted training to enhance officials' technological proficiency and improve overall service delivery. Abstract

This study analyzes the role of posyandu cadres in preventing stunting in Cangkring Village, Malang, Beji District, Pasuruan Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation from village heads, posyandu cadres, midwives, and mothers of toddlers. Utilizing Lawrence Green's framework, the findings reveal that stunting prevention is hindered by limited parental knowledge (Predisposing Factors), inadequate health facilities (Enabling Factors), and low community awareness (Reinforcing Factors). The research highlights the need for better education, improved facilities, and stronger community and governmental support to enhance posyandu effectiveness in stunting prevention. Highlights: 1. Abstract

This study examines the implementation of food consumption diversification policies in Sidoarjo district, using George C. Edwards III's theory on communication and bureaucratic structure. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research utilizes primary data from field surveys and interviews, and secondary data from official sources. The findings show that 14 out of 18 sub-districts successfully implemented these policies, leading to improved and diverse food consumption patterns as measured by the Food Hope Pattern (PPH) score. Effective communication, adequate resources, strong commitment, and structured bureaucracy were key to this success. The study highlights the importance of these factors in enhancing food security and nutritional outcomes at the local level. This study explores the imperative of mandatory college education in Indonesia, amidst recent protests against rising tuition fees. Despite higher education's recognized socio-economic benefits, Indonesia has yet to mandate college attendance, lagging behind global trends. Drawing on comparative analysis with Malaysia, South Korea, and European nations, the research underscores the potential of mandatory college education to enhance workforce skills, promote innovation, and reduce social disparities.
