Abstract

Diabetes patients frequently experience numerous and serious chronic infections because of their weakened cellular and humoral immune systems. Regrettably, there is insufficient information on the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection among diabetics, especially in southern Libya. This study aimed to determine how frequently these bacteria were infected among diabetes patients in various parts of Ubari. This study was conducted on 150 diabetic patients of both sexes, who visited the health centers in different Ubari areas. Their ages ranged from 20 to 80. Analysis of blood serum samples to measure Helicobacter pylori IgG antibodies by the enzymatic immunoassay (ELISA) and the rapid test (cassette rapid test). Biochemistry parameters such as Blood glucose concentration, cumulative glucose, ?-amylase, LDH, Serum cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL, and HDL, as well as the blood group, were also measured. Other data collected was the body mass index. A questionnaire was used to find out some habits, such as smoking, the use of spices in food, and the type and duration of diabetes. Data showed the rate of infection with H. pylori bacteria through immunological testing was 45.33% in both sexes; however, it was significantly higher in males than females, 28% and 17%, respectively. The infection rate was found to be higher in the age group 41–60 years, and there was no significant difference in bacterial infection between patients with type I and type II diabetes (20.7 and 24.7%), respectively. Similarly, there was no effect of body mass index on the rate of infection.

Abstract

A country with high economic potential in the international community is Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the countries with positive economic growth amidst the current global uncertainty. Indonesia's current economic growth is quite high in the region of other ASEAN countries. This study discussed liquidity, solvency, and profitability on company value with investment decisions as a mediating variable. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive quantitative design carried out at the Investment Gallery, Faculty of Economics and Business, Brawijaya University in 2018-2022. This study shows that investment decisions do not mediate the effect of liquidity, activity, and solvency on company value. However, investment decisions can mediate the effect of profitability on company value.

Abstract

This study aims to see the consequence of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance on LQ-45firm’s financial risk. This study uses a 23 sample of LQ-45 firms from 2016 to 2020 and applies Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) analysis. The studies find an adverse effect of ESG Performance and firm’s risk. Controversies on ESG also adversely influences the firm’s risk. However, there is no significant effect on board gender diversity on financial risk of the firm. Also, These findings are in line with stakeholder, signaling, Legitimacy, and risk management theory. The firms that perform reasonably on ESG have lower total risk. However, the firm’s negligence on ESG and involvement in ESG Controversies moderates the ESG-total risk nexus. The findings will help investor and portofolio managers evaluate how ESG, ESG Controversies, and Board Gender Diversity influence firm’s financial risk and help them make a better investment decisions. Additionally, regulators can revise the ESG and ESG Controversy disclosure criteria and make them accessable to all stakeholders for better decision making.

Abstract

In order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness in transactions of various non-cash payment channels, it is necessary to have an infrastructure that is able to integrate transactions originating from debit cards, credit cards, and electronic money in one door, through the standardization of the Quick Response Code (QR Code). In this paper, it will evaluate the impact of the implementation of the QRIS standardization policy on Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) turnover based on the business scale and economic sector of the business. The research was conducted by observing two groups, namely, the treatment group (UMKM using QRIS) and the control group (umKM not using the policy) in two time periods namely before and after the adoption of the policy. The test results per business sector showed significant results for the whole, micro-scale as well as processing/secondary economic sectors where there was a significant positive impact (P0.5) affecting turnover growth in MSMEs that adopted QRIS, compared to those that did not adopt QRIS. The QRIS implementation program can be continued and expanded in scope.

Abstract

Efforts to reconstruct the learning thinking of Civic Pancasila Education to develop a Life Skills Education Approach. This is based on researchers' concerns about the gap between what actually exists, with the existing conceptual framework (Das Sein and Das Solen), in the education system in Indonesia, especially Civic Education in the development of Polytechnic students. The researchers focus on the application of education theory as a tool of social integration that acts as an agent of value cultivation, Education is strength, Education is an investment for human resource development  or Human Capital theory, and social action theory or Action Theory with the AGIL scheme (Adaptation, Goal Attaintment, Integration, and Latency). This research used a qualitative approach to find and reconstruct the thinking (Constructivism) of Pancasila and Civic Education to develop a Life Skills Education Approach, with a phenomenological approach. Researchers rely on as many of the views of the participants studied according to the research theme in depth as possible to explore and find the right reconstruction of thinking. The conclusions of this study are: (1) The transmission of civic values or social systems in educational institutions is carried out by civic education; (2) Civic education must be shape the character and life skills needed in human resource development; (3) Life  skills education (soft skills) in civic education which is the basic foundation for the formation of an intelligent and good national character is, a very important part used as a learning approach to Pancasila and citizenship education at Polytechnics.

Abstract

Networks that contain sensitive data or have high-security requirements require reliable and dependable network security solutions. FortiGate Firewall, as one of the popular network security solutions, provides High Availability (HA) features that ensure network availability and reliability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of HA on FortiGate Firewall in specific scenarios, such as networks with sensitive data or networks with high-security requirements. A real-world case study is applied to evaluate the effectiveness of HA implementation on FortiGate Firewall in enhancing network reliability and security. In this research, the implementation of HA on FortiGate Firewall at PT ABC was successfully built using the PPDIOO method and deploying SD-WAN load balancing and failover configurations, along with the utilization of a high-availability cluster mechanism. The HA implementation on FortiGate proves to be an effective solution, as demonstrated in the SD-WAN Zone testing of the Source-destination SD-WAN load balancing mode, which showed effectiveness in evenly and optimally distributing traffic among multiple available links, resulting in a 93.3% reduction in downtime. Furthermore, the testing of HA cluster mode in active-passive configuration achieved a 91.8% reduction in downtime compared to the pre-HA implementation state.

Abstract

Tire company shares are considered to be the most prospective in 2018. This is related to the increasing level of tire exports, especially to Europe. Goodyear Indonesia (GDYR), Gajah Tunggal (GJTL), and Multistrada Arah Sarana (MASA) are three listed companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018. This thesis analyzes the intrinsic price of shares in the Tire Sub-Sector using the Discounted Cash Flow - Free Cash Flow to Firm (FCFF) Method and the Relative Valuation (RV) approach, so that interested parties or investors can assess how the third issuer's position shares. The basis of the estimation is an analysis of the financial statements of the three companies in the period 2014 to 2018, to conduct a fair valuation of shares in 2018 and an extension of the estimated share price in 2019. With the DCF-FCFF approach, the results show that GDYR shares are overvalued in all scenarios. GJTL's share price is also overvalued in the Optimistic and Moderate scenarios, but the Pessimistic scenario is overvalued. Meanwhile, MASA's share price is overvalued in all scenarios. With the PER approach, the results show that GDYR & MASA's shares are in an overvalued position in all scenarios. However, GJTL shares are in an overvalued position in all scenarios. With the PBV approach, the results show that the share price of GDYR & MASA are in an overvalued position in all scenarios. However, GJTL's share price is overvalued in all scenarios.
