Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate a proximate test (protein, fat, water content and carbohydrate) shredded banana corm with tempeh flour and lechitin fortification. This research is an experimental study using a completely randomized design factorial pattern. The first treatment was: Tempe soybean flour (T) with a level of T1 (5%), T2 (10%) and T3 (15%). The second treatment was lecithin (L) with levels of L1 (3%), L2 (5%) and L3 (7%) so that 9 treatment combinations were obtained. The collected data were analyzed with a 2-way classification variance test (analysis of variance). If there is a difference between treatments followed by LSD test. Proximate test results on the protein content of shredded banana corm showed that the addition of tempeh flour (T) had a very significant effect on protein content (P <0.01), while the addition of lecithin (L) was not significant (P> 0.05) both tempeh flour and lechitin did not significant on fat content and water content (P> 0.05). Tempeh flour (T) has a very significant effect on carbohydrate content (P <0.01), while the addition of lecithin (L) is not significant (P> 0.05). Abstract

Abstrak Bakteri endofit adalah bakteri yang menginvasi jaringan tanaman dan mempunyai peranan terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman salah satunya adalah kemampuannya dalam pelarutan fosfat. Ketersediaan unsur fosfat sangatlah penting untuk pertumbuhan tanaman. Pada penelitian ini isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri endofit diambil dari akar tanaman padi varietas situbagendit. Dari hasil isolasi bakteri endofit tersebut didapatkan 4 jenis isolat yaitu EPS1, EPS2, EPS3, dan EPS4. Masing-masing isolat tersebut adalah genus dari Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Enterobacter, dan Azotobacter. Dalam pengukuran indeks pelarutan fosfat, isolat EPS2 merupakan isolat yang paling tinggi dalam pelarutan fosfat yaitu memiliki nilai IP sebesar 2,07. Kata Kunci: Bakteri endofit, padi varietas situbagendit, isolasi, identifikasi, fosfat.

Abstract

The potential of red dragon fruit peels both in terms of antioxidant activity and as sufficient food coloring promising. On the other hand antioxidants, one of which is vitamin C, is very susceptible to high heat. This study aims to determine the content of proximate, fiber and vitamin C from dry bakpia substitution of dragon fruit peels flour. A randomized block design with 4 replications was selected in this study, while the treatment consisted from 3 levels of dragon fruit peels flour substitution, namely 1%, 2%, 3% and control (0%). The results showed substitution of dragon fruit peels flour has no effect on water content, protein, fat, fiber and vitamin C dry bakpia. The 3% substitution of dragon fruit peels flour produces lower carbohydrate levels and significantly different with control, 1% and 2%. The ash content of 3% substitution of dragon fruit peels flour is higher and than significantly different with control and 1% but not significantly different with 2% . The conclusion was substitution of dragon fruit peels flour can be applied to 1- 2% of flour need to increase its nutritional value. Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth of 10 superior soybean varieties planted in 3 different types of soil (alluvial, regosol and latosol) and to find out whether the 3 types of soil give an effect to the growth of 10 superior soybean varieties viewed from 4 parameters (hypocotyl length, length epicotiles, stem length and stem dry weight).This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 10 varieties of soybean plants (anjasmoro, argomulyo, detam 1, detam 3 prida, detam 4 prida, detap 1, devon 1, devon 2, yellow gepak and deja 1) and 3 types of soil (alluvial, regosol, and latosol) was repeated 2 times. Data were analyzed using the two-way ANAVA 5% test and the 5% DMRT test. The results showed a significant difference in soybean growth. The best soybean varieties in hypocotyl length are Devon 2, in epicotile length are Anjasmoro, Devon 1 and Devon 2, the stem length and dry weight of the stem are Detap 1. The DMRT test results state that all three soil types (alluvial, regosol and latosol) have influence on the parameters of hypocotyl length and epicotyl length, whereas the parameters of stem length and plant dry weight have no effect. Abstract

Plant swords (Nephrolepis exaltata) are ferns in the Lomariopsidaceae tribe which are easily found on the banks of rivers, cliffs, and contain flavonoids and alkaloids that can inhibit the growth of albicans candida fungi. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Sword nail extract (Nephrolepis exaltata) on the growth of albicans candida fungi. This research is a quantitative laboratory experimental type using a completely randomized design (RAL) with 4 different treatment groups, 1 negative control (pz sterile) and 1 positive control (ketocenazole). The parameters observed were the number of colonies (CFU) and the average area of ​​the inhibition zone (mm). The data was analyzed using SPSS software using one way ANOVA analysis which was then followed by a test using DMRT. The results showed that all concentrations differed from the negative controls, while the extract concentration of 1000 ppm compared to the positive controls had no difference. Sword nail extract (Nephrolepis exaltata) has an influence on the growth of candida albicans mushrooms, namely the number of colonies of 6.78 CFU (6x106) at a concentration of 1000 ppm and inhibition zone 33.10 mm at a concentration of 1000 ppm. Abstract

Unhealthy lifestyle is one of the leading causes to Diabetes Mellitus (DM) disorder which is characterized by beyond normal limits of high blood glucose levels. Seawed (Ulva lactuca) is one type of natural material that is potentially to be anti-DM. Unfortunately, it is not familiar yet to the wider community, especially in Aceh. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Ulva lactuca water extract to the body weight of DM rats. The research is an experimental completely randomized design (CRD). Rats were grouped into 5 treatments with three replications, namely: KN = normal control (only fed and distilled water), Ka = STZ control (rat induced STZ 65 mg), P1 = rat DM + extract dose 200 mg / KgBB, P2 = DM rats + extract dose 300 mg / KgBB, P3 = DM rats + extract dose 400 mg / KgBB. Measurement of body weight (BB) of rats was carried out for 28 days. Data analysis was performed statistically (ANOVA). The results showed that the water extract of Ulva lactuca affected the changes in body weight of DM rats. The treatment groups of P1, P2 and P3 gained weight after being given Ulva lactuca water extract. The highest percentage of weight increase was found in the P2 and P3 treatment groups.
