Abstract

The research aims to identify the presentation of elements of basic science process skills and integrated science process skills in science textbooks for Class VII SMP on temperature and its changes. This study uses a qualitative description analysis. The object of research in this study was the Eksplorasi Ilmu Alam 1 book, IPA Terpadu Kelas VII book and Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Kurikulum 2013 book selected by judgment sampling. The instrument used to collect data in this study was to use an instrument of the elements of science process skills on the topic of temperature and its changes. The data collection technique used is literature study. Data analysis techniques in research using content analysis. The results showed that the elements of science process skills have been presented well even though there are elements that have not been fulfilled elements of defining operational variables. The element of SPS that appears the most is the element of observing which is the most basic skill in conducting an experiment. With this research, it is hoped that teachers will have many references in improving student KPS and not just referring to one book.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' responses to the application of guided inquiry learning models on heat material and its displacement. This research uses qualitative research using literature review method. The research instrument used a student response questionnaire distributed to 30 MTs students. The data collection techniques used were in the form of interview techniques and questionnaire techniques for student responses to the application of the guided inquiry learning model. The data obtained in this study will be analyzed by calculating the percentage results of each student response questionnaire result, so that the positive and negative responses of students are known. The results obtained showed more positive responses than students' negative responses to the application of the guided inquiry model, positive responses were almost obtained in every statement except in statement 8 regarding students having no difficulty when making hypotheses / assumptions while in books and student worksheets obtained a balanced response between positive response and negative response

Abstract

This study aims to describe effectiveness of creative thinking training in junior high school science learning through guided inquiry. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method by analyzing four training practices for creative thinking skills in science-based guided inquiry learning that had been carried out by previous researchers. Object of research in this study is an article or journal related to guided inquiry-based learning to improve creative thinking skills in junior high school science learning. Data collection technique used literature study. Data analysis technique in this study used content analysis techniques. Results obtained from this study are the research of Kurniati et al. (2018) dan Suhartini et al. (2016) more effective in training students' creative thinking in science learning based on guided inquiry, by practicing all aspects of creative thinking which are then aligned with the guided inquiry stage. Meanwhile, the two other studies have shortcomings because the creative thinking aspect is not trained as a whole and there are aspects of creative thinking that are not in line with the guided inquiry stage.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the design and implementation of diagnostic assessments in 3 junior high schools based on school quality categories. The research design used a qualitative descriptive. Subjects in this study were teachers in natural science subjects at 3 junior high schools in Menganti, Gresik. The selection of this school was based on the school quality category, namely SMP Negeri 29 Gresik with A accreditation, SMP Sunan Giri Menganti with A accreditation, and MTs Salafiyah Menganti Gresik with B accreditation. This research method used a qualitative descriptive method using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. on google form media. The data analysis technique in this study used namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results in this study are that all-Natural Science subject teachers in all these schools have implemented a diagnostic assessment before the learning process during the Covid -19pandemic and are in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Education and Culture 2020. The design of diagnostic assessment carried out by teacher is in the form of test sheets and interviews. to students. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation and diagnostic design are not based on good quality schools, but depend on the teacher's understanding the importance of this assessment which makes science teachers in the 3 schools implement diagnostic assessments with the aim of helping students better understand the material and support achievement. learning objectives during the Covid -19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes by using scientific skill process on student worksheet. The research design uses in this study was One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research is test to student on IX class at JHS 3 Tuban with total 32 students in one class. The data collection method uses in this research is the test method. The knowledge test is pretest to determine the initial ability of student and posttest to determine the final ability of student after being given treatment. The skill test is in the form of integrated scientific skill process in terms of 7 aspects. The learning outcomes of knowledge are classified as medium N-Gain, namely 0,36. The learning outcomes of knowledge are obtained by 24 students who experinced an increase in learning outcomes, 5 students did not change learning outcomes, and 3 students experinced a decrease in learning outcomes. Learning outcomes of integrated scientific skill process show better result than learning outcomes of knowledge. Learning outcomes of integrated scientific skill process, namely 85,04 are included in the very good criteria. This is due to the enthusiasm and motivation of student when participating in practical learning. The conclusion of this study is scientific skill process on student worksheet is able to improve learning outcomes in the knowledge dimension and learning outcomes in the dimensions of integrated scientific skill process.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze and describe the challenges of teachers when learning by using a scientific approach. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, making descriptions or descriptions related to the challenges of teachers in implementing science learning using a scientific approach. The instrument used in this study was the teacher's challenge instruments in the scientific approach, which contained the stages of the scientific approach and the challenges faced by the teacher. The data collection technique in this study used literature studies and used the subject matter of case studies in research that had been conducted by previous researchers to analyze the challenges or obstacles experienced by teachers when carrying out learning using a scientific approach. The data analysis technique used in this research is content analysis which begins with the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results obtained in this study are that it is found that there are still many challenges faced by teachers during learning activities. The most dominant challenge for science teachers in scientific learning includes 3 things, namely: the challenge of teachers in planning learning activities, class management, and managing time allocations. Therefore, it is hoped that the school, especially the principal, will provide special training for teachers in preparing lesson plans (RPP) and an explanation of the stages of the scientific approach. That way it can minimize the challenges faced by teachers in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the environmental literacy skills of students in schools that apply an environment curriculum. The type of research used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were 75 students of eight class and science teachers in schools with an environmental curriculum, namely State Junior High School 16 of Surabaya. The research instrument used test question sheets, questionnaires, and interviews. The research data were analyzed descriptively based on the achievement score criteria of each indicator of environmental literacy. The results showed that student's environmental literacy skills on the indicators of knowledge had a percentage of 46.3% with a fairly good category, cognitive skills had a percentage of 36.7% in a bad category, students' attitudes towards the environment had a percentage of 79.5% in a good category, and student behavior towards the environment has a percentage of 79.0% in a good category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of learning, increase student learning outcomes and student responses during the learning process usingmedia -e-learning based Moodle on the human blood circulatory system material. This study used a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was conducted on 34 students of SMP Satu Atap Pengampon class VIII. The instruments used were in the form of a learning implementation sheet, a test question sheet, and a student response questionnaire. The data collection techniques in this study were observation techniques, test techniques, and questionnaire techniques. The data analysis used was the analysis of the implementation of learning, the analysis of the assessment of knowledge, and the analysis of the student response questionnaires. The results of this study are in the form of learning implementation, learning outcomes, and student responses. The implementation of learning in class VIII has a very good category, with an average value of the learning process of 3.8. The student learning outcomes that are assessed are in the knowledge aspect obtained from the average N-Gain test score of 0.70 which is included in the high criteria. Student learning outcomes are known from the students' pretest and posttest scores. Student posttest results have increased after the implementation ofmedia -e-learning based Moodle on the human circulatory system material. Student responses during the learning process using Moodle-based e-learning media contained 12 questions (assessed aspects) with an average percentage value of the student's “Yes” answer of 89% with a very good category. The conclusion of this study is the application ofmedia -e-learning based Moodle on the human circulatory system material can improve junior high school student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the science module developed by the Directorate of Junior High Schools in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII-D and VIII-E MTsN 2 Kediri. The number of students in class VIII-D was 31 students and class VIII-E was 32 students. The method used in this research is a research method pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The effectiveness of the developed modules in terms of the percentage of classical completeness, students 'learning completeness seen from the indicators of competency achievement, and students' responses related to the developed modules. The instruments used were test sheets and questionnaire sheets. The results obtained in this study are that the developed module is effective in terms of the percentage of classical completeness of 83.87% for class VIII-D and 84.37% for class VIII-E. Completeness based on the competency achievement indicators, students succeeded in achieving 5 indicators of competency achievement from the total number of 6 indicators of competency achievement indicators, and the students' responses were very good. The conclusion of this study is that the module developed by the Directorate of Junior High Schools was effectively applied to distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic as a medium for independent learning.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of the digital-based discovery learning model (powerpoint and video animation learning) on students' concept undestanding of digestive system material. This type of research is Pre-Experimental Design. The research design used is the One Group Pretest - Posttest. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya. The sample in the study consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group (VII-H) using a digital-based discovery learning model and the control group (VIII-F) using the commonly applied model. Each group consists of 25 students. The data collection method is the test method given before and after the implementation of the digital-based discovery learning model on digestive system material. The data from pretest dan posttest were then analyzed using N-gain to describe the categories of increasing students' conceptual undestanding. In this study, there were differences in the n-gain results in the two groups that had been applied treatment. Digital-based discovery learning models result in greater improvement than a typical classroom teaching. The results showed an increase of 68% including in the medium category in the experimental group. Annother case in the control group there was an increase of 18%, including the low category. Thus it can be concluded that this digital-based discovery learning model is effectively used in students' concept undestanding to improve the digestive system material in SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya.
