Recently, the use of mobile devices to communicate, learn, attain knowledge, and share information. Whatsapp as one of free downloaded device applications become the most popular platform, especially among university students. It is also regarded as one of teaching and learning media that could facilitate collaborative learning even though in this online classes due to Covid-19 pandemic. Challenges in attracting students’ attention and interest become higher during online learning, since lecturer could not directly interact and teach students. Students are required to fast adapt this new way. This research investigates students’ response on using Whatsapp as a learning tool during the online English Classes at State Islamic Institute of Palu. To get the result, there were 62 students of English Study Program at Tarbiyah and Teaching Education Faculty given 17 items of questionnaire. The result shows the majority of the students have positive responses and enjoy using Whatsapp as a learning tool during online classes. Even they love using Whatsapp.

This study aims to determine the process of improving speaking skill through role play for tenth grade students of MANida'ul Khairaat Pombewe in the academic year 2020/2021. This study used pre-experimental design research methods. The researcher chose class 10thas a sample consisting of 10 students. In collecting the data, researchers used four types of instruments, namely: pre-test, treatment, post-test and documentation. The result of the data calculation showed that mean score of the students’ pre-test was 40.9, it was lower than the mean score of post-test 52.6. In analyzing the data the researchers used the 0.05 and 0.01 degree of significance and df (degree of freedom) N-1. This study has two hypothesis which are the null hypothesis or Ho (there is no improvement of using role play to the students’ speaking skill, and the alternative hypothesis or Ha (there is improvement of using role play to the students’ speaking skill). It can be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The use of role play was effective to improve the students speaking skill at the tenth grade of students in MA Nida’ul Khairaat Pombewe.

This is a qualitative research with the objective to find out how the teaching of Pronunciation Practice by using Google Classroom to the second semester students of English Tadris Study Program of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Palu is. There are three research questions in this research: (1) How did the lecturer teach Pronunciation Practice subject by using Google Classroom to the second semester students of English Tadris Study Program of State Institute for Islamic Studies Palu ?; (2) What are the advantages and limitations of using Google Classroom for teaching Pronunciation Practice to the second semester students of English Tadris Study Program of State Institute for Islamic Studies Palu?; and (3) What are the advantages and limitations of using Google Classroom for learning Pronunciation Practice based on the opinions of the second semester students of English Tadris Study Program of State Institute for Islamic Studies Palu? In gaining the date, the researcher used observation and interview as the instruments. From the observation, the researcher answered the first and second research questions as follow. The researcher did several steps in teaching Pronunciation Practice by using Google Classroom such as: (1) making three classes of Pronunciation Practice in Google Classroom for TBIG-1, TBIG-2, and TBIG-3; (2) sharing the link of Google Classroom to the students; (3) making the attendance list; (4) delivering the material to the students by attaching word files; (5) sharing YouTube videos of how native speaker pronouncing the sounds in the material; (6) giving assignment to the students by setting the deadline; and (7) returning the assignment to the students along with the score and the feedback in the comment column. The advantages by using Google Classroom for teaching Pronunciation Practice are as follow: (1) the easiness to deliver the material orderly; (2) the easiness to share YouTube videos; (3) the easiness to instruct an assignment; (4) the easiness to set the due date of the assignment; (5) the availability of scoring feature; (6) the privacy of lecturer’s feedback; and (7) no need to save students’ numbers. However, the limitations of Google Classroom are also found. Here are some of the limitations: (1) the unavailability of attendance feature; (2) the need of stable internet connection to upload a material file; and (3) the unavailability of feature to do oral class discussion. The third research question was answered by using the data from interview. The students described the advantages of using Google Classroom as follow: (1) easy to use; (2) flexible; (3) easy to send tasks; (4) not consuming much internet data; and (5) enabling students to watch YouTube videos shared by the lecturer related to the material discussed. However, they also noted some limitations of Google Classroom such as: (1) the unavailability of features like voice note and video call to have oral class discussion; (2) the difficulty to access it when the internet connection is not stable; and (3) the difficulty to send tasks when Google Drive is full.

The aims of this research are to find out the effect of Instagram in learning vocabulary of third semester students at English Tadris Study Program in IAIN Palu. This research was quantitative method and used total sampling. The subject of this research was the students’ batch 2019 semester 3 academic year 2020-2021 in IAIN Palu. The total numbers of students of in this research were 102 students. After selected the sample of this research were 35 students. Research instrument is questionnaire.The technique of collection data was observation, and reduction.The result showed that Effect of Instagram in Learning Vocabulary of Third Semester Students’ at English Tadris Study Program in IAIN Palu Academic year 2020/2021, used online media namely google form. The data revealed that the level of the mean score 62,48% from 35 students which was categorized as high effect. Then the research concluded that it is evident that Instagram have an effect on learning English (vocabulary) of student. It was revealed by the mean score 62,48%. The research was classified as high category of the students’ questionnaire.

The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of anxiety toward students’ learning motivation of the eleventh grade at SMAN 4 Palu in the academic year 2019- 2020. This research used as a survey quantitative research method. The population of this research was conducted for the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 4 Palu with consisted of 50 students, who used purposive sampling with took 2 classes as the samples to encourage representative data. In the procedure of collecting data, the researcher used one of instrument is questionnaire. The questionnaire used to encourage the effect of anxiety and the motivation in learning English of the students. The researcher was giving students a questionnaire using WhatsApp. The questionnaire in Google form, so students just open and checklist their answer and send. The result of the questionnaire has shown there was no significant effect of anxiety toward students’ learning motivation. This result of Pearson Product Moment table, which has shown were scores of Sigs between effect Anxiety and Motivation was 0,450 or more than 0,05. It means there was no effect of anxiety toward motivation. The researcher concluding the effect of anxiety toward students' learning motivation was normal.

The aim of this research was to improve the speaking learning process of eight grade students ofSMP Islam Terpadu (IT) QurrotaA’yunPaluin the academic year of 2019/2020 through animation movie. This study was an class action research study. It was conducted in two cycles, from the 4th of March to the 12th of March 2020. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The steps of the research were planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 30 students of VIII D class, the English teacher, and the researcher. The data were in the form of qualitative data and also supported by quantitative data. The qualitative data were obtained by observing the teaching and learning process, interviewing the students and collaborators, holding discussions with the collaborators, and taking pictures of the teaching and learning process. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were obtained through post-test, the field notes and interview transcripts were analyzed qualitatively through four steps namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of this research showed that the implementation of animation movie in the speaking learning process was effective to make the students become enthusiastic in the Englishspeaking activities. The use of animation movie that was combined with speaking performances and group works made significant progress in the speaking learning process. The students were interested towards the materials, could understand the materials easily, and spoke more confidently. In reference to the number, the students who was completely the score of speaking skill was improved from 70% to 80% and the number of the students who has a high confidence in speaking was improved from 78% to 82,66%. The students’ interest level toward speaking was improved through the use of animation movies because they could learn speaking English through fun activities with their friends. Therefore, they were not bored in the teaching-learning process.

This research discusses about the use of Choral Reading in reading narrative text. The purpose of this research was to determine whether the choral reading technique affects students' pronunciation. The researcher used a quasi-experimental research design, the population in this research is class VIII Mts Alkahirat Alindau which consists of two classes, they are class 8A and 8B. In this research, class 8B as the Experimental Group by usinga purposive sampling technique. In the experimental class, the researcher gave a pre-test, treatment (choral reading), and post-test, while for the control class, only pretest and post-test without treatment. The researcher collected data through a reading test. From the calculation of the data it showed that the difference in students' scores on the pre-test and posttest with an average post-test score was higher than the average of pre-test score (67.06>30.26). This can be seen from the results obtained before and after the treatment, the score on post-test of experimental class was higher than the score on the pos-test of control group (67.0>51.2). In addition, the result showed that the t-counted was higher than the t-table (52.94>2084. Based on the data analysis, the researcher concluded that the used of Choral Reading technique was affects the pronunciation of the 8th grade students of MTs Alkharat Alinda.
