Abstract

Market volatility poses significant challenges to investors and portfolio managers, particularly in periods of uncertainty where asset prices fluctuate sharply. Traditional static hedging strategies often fail to adapt effectively to dynamic market conditions, leading to suboptimal risk mitigation. This study proposes an Adaptive Hedging Strategy (AHS) that integrates real-time volatility estimation and machine learning–based signal processing to optimize hedge ratios dynamically. Using a dataset of equity index futures and options from 2015 to 2024, the research evaluates the performance of AHS against conventional delta and minimum-variance hedging approaches. Results indicate that the adaptive model significantly reduces portfolio variance and Value-at-Risk (VaR), particularly during high-volatility regimes such as the COVID-19 crash and post-2022 inflation shocks. The findings suggest that adaptive strategies can enhance hedging efficiency and provide a more resilient framework for risk management in volatile markets.

Abstract

Digital technology development has transformed the business landscape, particularly for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), where Digital Accounting Information Systems (AIS) have become a critical tool. Digital AIS enhances operational efficiency, financial planning, and marketing, ultimately impacting revenue growth, with entrepreneur education being a crucial factor for successful adoption. This descriptive quantitative study aims to analyze the relationship and correlation direction between the implementation of digital AIS and the characteristics of SMEs in Indonesia. It utilizes panel data from the 2011-2023 SME profile surveys issued by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and data on accounting software available on the Play Store. The indicators for SME characteristics are business capital, revenue, marketing, and education. The indicators for accounting software are rating, reviews, and downloads. The data were analyzed using Spearman's non-parametric statistical test. The results indicate a significant correlation between Digital AIS adoption and business capital and marketing, but no significant correlation with revenue and education. These findings underscore the necessity to develop and promote a holistic, context-based AIS implementation model. This model should be designed with user-friendly, integrated features and support certification programs for SMEs that demonstrate high-quality AIS implementation. Abstract

This study evaluates the risk-adjusted performance of three Sharia equity mutual funds in Indonesia (Manulife Syariah Sektoral Amanah, Mandiri Investa Ekuitas Syariah, and Batavia Dana Saham Syariah) using daily data from 2022 to 2025. The analysis employs daily returns, excess returns, total volatility, market beta, and three major performance measures: the Sharpe Ratio, Treynor Ratio, and Jensen’s Alpha. Results show that all three funds consistently underperformed the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), reflected in negative Sharpe and Treynor Ratios and negative, statistically insignificant Jensen’s Alpha values. These findings indicate that performance is predominantly driven by market movements rather than managerial skill. The study contributes empirical evidence on the behavior of Islamic mutual funds in volatile market periods and offers practical insights for investors seeking risk-adjusted performance evaluation in Islamic finance contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of green banking disclosure, operational efficiency, and profitability on firm value in Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia during the period 2022–2024. This study was conducted to determine the extent to which sustainable banking practices, as reflected in the level of green banking disclosure, contribute to increasing firm value through increased efficiency and profitability. Secondary data were obtained from the annual reports of three Islamic commercial banks: Bank Syariah Indonesia, Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Syariah, and Bank Panin Dubai Syariah. The analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the assistance of Stata 17 software. The results show that green banking disclosure has a positive effect on firm value, meaning that the better the sustainability and environmental disclosure, the higher the market valuation of the company. Operational efficiency, measured by the operating expense ratio, has a negative effect on firm value, while profitability, measured by return on equity, has a positive and significant effect. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating sustainability performance and financial efficiency in increasing the long-term value of Islamic banks.
