Abstract

DBMS (Database Management System) is a software system that enables database users to maintain, control and access data in a practical and efficient manner. This DBMS is the layer that connects the database with application programs to ensure that the database remains consistently organized and can be accessed easily. The main purpose of using a DBMS in the education sector is to avoid confusion in terms of processing large amounts of data and to help students process data. DBMS also reduces and eliminates data redundancy and maximizes data consistency so that every time it displays data, the data is in accordance with the original. The main function of the DBMS is data storage, due to the complexity of the current DBMS, various types of data can be stored. The results of this study are that database management systems are urgently needed in the education sector so that they can progress and be able to compete, can help process student data, and can be used to create school profiles.

Abstract

Major depressive disorder is a serious mental problem that negatively affects a person's emotions, mind, and actions. A suicide attempt is an attempt to end a life that does not end with death but self-harm. People with major depressive disorder are at the highest risk of suicide. This case study shows what can be seen in a suicide attempt patient with an underlying treatment-resistant major depressive disorder. We present a case of a young female with a treatment-resistant major depressive disorder that induces suicide attempts. We found that adultery, disability child, and poverty had triggered major depression in her. Her family history of suicidal attempts is suspected to be also related to her suicidal behavior. She had no response to medications but showed good improvement after being treated with ECT. Further studies are needed to understand better the association between major depression in young adults, suicidal behavior, and medication resistance.

Abstract

Leachate, a byproduct of water entering landfills, contains high amounts of organics, acids, metals, and dissolved salts, posing environmental risks. Due to leachate can be hazardous and there are few remediation alternatives, researchers are exploring leachate reduction methods using decomposing organisms like Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. This research investigates BSF larvae's ability to decompose leachate, determines the quality of the final residue and analyzes the growth of the larvae. BSF larvae were grown for 12 days on a mixture of substrate and leachate. The variations used are the solvent content of the leachate solution (75%, 50%, 25%, and 0% solvent) and the type of substrate (bran, tofu dregs, or a mixture of tofu bran-dregs). Using leachate in raising BSF larvae effectively degrades leachate and creates standardized organic fertilizer. The substrate type and solvent content of the leachate solution affect media reduction. As the solvent gets smaller or the leachate concentration increases, the medium shrinks more. The highest media shrinkage of 58.83% is achieved by combining bran and tofu dregs with 0% leachate solution solvent concentration.

Abstract

Landfill is a place to dispose of waste. There are still many landfills in Indonesia that use open dumping. Klotok Landfill in Kediri City uses a sanitary landfill where if you use the sanitary landfill method, leachate can be accommodated in a shelter. Leachate comes from waste decomposition. One of the leachate treatments is constructed wetlands. Constructed wetlands are treatment with a design that copy the natural system of plants to treat wastewater by involving several process mechanisms such as physics, chemistry, and biology. In this study, Typha angustifolia were used because these plants were considered capable of processing leachate. Using subsurface flow and continuous process is expected to reduce TSS, COD, and Total-Nitrogen. Sampling time was carried out in the 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th, and 14th days. The results of TSS, COD, and Total-Nitrogen obtained were highest at 5L/day discharge with the 14th day sampling reaching 96.30%, 90%, and 89.16%. The average temperature and pH results obtained reached 26.92 ℃ and 7.9. The temperature and pH in this study are still within the optimal range for constructed wetland processing methods.

Abstract

Digital literacy has become an essential skill for high school students to face the challenges posed by an increasingly connected and digitized society. The aim of this research is to investigate the level of digital literacy among high school students, identify the issues they encounter, and develop a useful teaching approach to enhance digital literacy. This research employs a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches. Researchers conducted surveys using questionnaires and interviews on digital literacy to assess the students' level of digital literacy. The results indicate that most students have a good understanding of digital technology, but there are some issues, such as digital ethics and information evaluation. We conducted interviews and focused group discussions to identify student challenges, such as digital security and the spread of misinformation. Based on the research findings, we propose an integrated teaching strategy to be incorporated into the school curriculum. This strategy includes teacher training in digital literacy, collaboration with libraries to improve research skills, and the integration of digital literacy into various subjects. We hope that by implementing this strategy, students will develop critical thinking, analytical, and ethical skills necessary for success in their daily lives.

Abstract

Heart failure is a complex clinical syndrome characterized by objective evidence of an underlying structural abnormality or cardiac dysfunction that reduces the ability of the ventricles to fill or pump blood. One of the essential indicators in evaluating the condition of heart failure patients in treatment undergoing a cardiovascular rehabilitation program is an assessment of the ability to perform physical activity. Evaluation of physical activity ability can be determined through exercise capacity assessments such as the 6-minute walk test and Handgrip strength method. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between handgrip strength and the distance travelled in a 6-minute walking test in patients with heart failure. This was a cross-sectional study of 55 heart failure patients at the Integrated Heart Center Department of RSUP Dr M. Djamil Padang from February 2022 to December 2022. Based on the Pearson correlation test, there was a statistically significant result between handgrip strength and distance in the 6-minute walking test with a P value of 0.01 (p<0.05). There is a positive and statistically significant relationship between handgrips strength with a 6-minute walking test distance in heart failure patients.

Abstract

Hospitalization is a condition in which a person experiences compulsion to be hospitalized and can make a child feel uncomfortable, threatened, which causes anxiety. Efforts to reduce anxiety can use hand puppet play therapy. Hand puppets are games that are played using hand puppets and make children imagine using storytelling techniques. Knowing the results of the implementation of hand puppet therapy on the level of anxiety due to hospitalization. Using a case study design, the subject is 2 preschool-age children who are treated in the Children's Room of RSUD dr. Soeratno Gemolong. The measurement tool for anxiety uses the FIS and SCAS anxiety scales. The application was carried out 2 times in 2 days. The anxiety level of FIS and SCAS before the hand puppet therapy was carried out, the two subjects were different. Subject 1 had a higher level of anxiety (FIS: severe anxiety and SCAS: severe anxiety) than subject 2 (FIS: moderate anxiety and SCAS: moderate anxiety). Hand puppet play therapy in preschool age children (3-6 years) can reduce children's anxiety levels.

Abstract

Leachate is a liquid containing extracted, dissolved, and suspended materials from waste in a landfill. Leachate from Klotok landfill contains pollutant loads that do not meet the water quality standards, necessitating treatment. In this study, parameters considered were COD, TSS, and TN. Anoxic-Oxic Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) was chosen due to its compact footprint, low sludge production, ability to handle high COD loads, and not requiring periodic backwash. Variations including media type, media volume, and Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) were applied to reduce pollutant parameter concentrations. The experiment was conducted in batch-continuous mode. The derived parameter concentrations yielded promising results using a biocube/sponge media in the reactor, constituting 50% of the leachate volume, with an HRT of 45 hours. Upon continuous operation under the best variations for parameter reduction, COD, TSS, and TN values were achieved as 160 mg⁄L, 132  mg⁄L, and 31.5  mg⁄L, respectively. Meanwhile, the average removal percentages for COD, TSS, and TN were 87%, 50%, and 87% respectively. Additionally, microorganism identification was performed in the anoxic-oxic moving bed biofilm reactor, revealing the presence of microorganisms such as coliforms, Bacillus sp., and Pseudomonas sp.

Abstract

Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease, in general, it has no known complaints, so it is known as the silent killer, characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure of ≥ 140 mmHg and diastolic ≥90 mmHg. One of the factors in the occurrence of hypertension is the age factor, hypertension in the elderly is more important to be treated because of the pathogenesis, course of the disease, and its management. Non-pharmacological treatment can overcome hypertension and is useful for improving the quality of life of patients and preventing complications, one of the non-pharmacological actions is massage therapy (reflexology). To find out the results of the implementation regarding giving reflexology therapy to reduce blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. using a case study design, subjects in 2elderly with hypertension who were treated at RSUD dr. Soeratno Gemolong, using a tensimeter to measure blood pressure before and after therapy. obtained an average decrease in systolic blood pressure of 5.2 mmHg and an average decrease in diastolic blood pressure of 5 mmHg after being given reflexology massage therapy.
