Abstract

 Leadership plays an important role in realizing the vision and mission of educational institutions. Various models of suitable leadership styles can be adopted and applied by a school principal at the educational institution he leads. During the Covid-19 pandemic, a leader needs to apply the right leadership style. The transformational leadership style in high school (SMA) is quite ideal to be applied during the Covid pandemic. Transformational leadership has a close meaning with charismatic and vision, because by definition it focuses on change and transformation. Transformational leadership has four characteristics known as the 4Is, namely Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individual Consideration. Transformational leadership style has a significant and positive influence to bring about change. This leadership style is one of the leadership styles that can be implemented in high school during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Principals are leaders in educational institutions who have an influence on the achievement of the school's vision and mission. The regional situation that continues to change due to the Covid-19 pandemic requires leadership who is able to read the opportunities and challenges when the crisis is not over. Leadership with a situational approach is one form of solution in implementing the ever-changing educational process. Situational approach models which include contingency leadership, three-dimensional leadership and situational leadership models, are the right choice to be implemented in high school. Because the condition of the area that changes easily from the green, yellow and red zones demands changes in the learning process. With situational leadership any problems and changes in regional conditions can be overcome.

Abstract

The leadership style of a principal certainly affects the progress of the school, including graduates, teacher performance and so on. The purpose of this study was to find out what leadership style is used by the principal at MTsM Sulit Air through teacher responses. The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted using interview, observation and documentation studies. The research subjects were teachers at MTsM Sulit Air. The leadership style of the head of MTsM Sulit Air that stands out is a transformative and democratic leadership style. This can be seen from the results of the study which can be concluded that the principal is responsible in every task, is ready to accept the risks of what he does, accepts criticism, consults when there are problems and many other principals' attitudes that support the principal's transformative leadership style and also democratic.

Abstract

The graduates quality is an indicator of the school success in carrying out its function to improve the quality of graduates at schools. To improve graduates quality, the principal plays an important role in applying his/her roles, functions and strategies. This study aims to examine the strategies used by the principal in improving graduates quality in SMA Negeri 1 Batusangkar. The methodology used in this research is qualitative descriptive method in form of case study. Case study research aims to reveal a case that occured in a certain place at a certain time. The result of this study indicated that there are three main strategies applied by the principal in improving graduates quality both in quality and quantity. These strategies are through the superior program owned by the school, the strategy of developing work program for principal deputies of each field (curriculum, students-realtions, public relations, and facilities), and the strategy for developing the quality of human resources, including students. The recommendations and suggestions from this research for the future is the principal can cooperate optimally with those involved in the school to be able to develop strategies, models, teachniques, methods and approaches to improve graduates quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) policies related to distance learning during the Covid-19 emergency, 2) various learning innovations applied by PAI teachers, 3) obstacles faced by Islamic religious education teachers during distance learning. This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Sawahlunto. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, the primary data source of the research is the PAI subject teacher at MTsN 1 Sawahlunto with qualitative data collection techniques, using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative data analysis technique. The results showed that the policies implemented in MTs. Islamic Religious Education During the Covid-19 emergency period is to continue to carry out learning, but with a distance system based on an internet network. This policy is implemented in accordance with local government regulations. The various learning innovations applied are 1) Innovations in intracurricular activities, including the presentation of learning with multimedia, PAI learning that emphasizes the friendly motto, online-based discussions and assignments, application of project-based methods, activity-based learning evaluations. 2) Innovation in extracurricular activities, namely the routine of reading and memorizing the Qur'an. The obstacles faced were 1) mindset errors, 2) lack of competence, 3) unpreparedness of teachers and students in facing E-Learning learning

Abstract

The main problem of career counseling in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic is management problems. The purpose of this study is to reveal data related to career management problems in schools during the covid 19 period. The research uses a qualitative approach, especially phenomenology. The research respondents consisted of Guidance and Counseling teachers, school principals, vice principals and students of SMA N Padang City. Research data obtained through interviews and observations. Researchers used data triangulation to test the validity of the data, especially source triangulation. The data is analyzed based on the theory of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study revealed that; 1) unrealistic planning of career counseling services and the absence of online counseling designs. 2) the organization of career counseling services that are not in accordance with the guidelines, 3) the implementation of career counseling services that are not in accordance with the student's traits and are incidental in nature, and 4) controlling and supervising the implementation of career counseling that has not been maximized by the principal. The conclusion of the research is that career management problems in schools are related to planning, organizing, implementing and controlling.

Abstract

The discussion of this article will analyze and describe the role of school committee administrators as a consideration body, a support agency, as a controlling body and as a mediator body, in improving the quality of education during the covid-19 pandemic. The role of the school committee management is very large and has a lot of benefits for increasing student discipline in learning. The method of this article uses a descriptive qualitative approach that seeks to understand the various concepts found in the research process. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research by placing procedures or scientific methods to obtain data with a specific purpose. This study uses observation, documentation, and interviews to obtain conditions for the object to be studied. with this discussion are the types and sources of secondary data that will be used in finding the results of this discussion. The results of this study indicate that the school committee management at MTsN 6 Tanah Datar has a very important role in efforts to improve student discipline during this Covid-19 period. Furthermore, the efforts made by the school committee management in improving discipline during the COVID-19 pandemic can be seen in their involvement in efforts to participate in decision making. Meanwhile, the obstacles they face during this pandemic are the parents' lack of awareness of their children about children's education, especially since learning is currently in the form of online/on-line. Fostering good relations and cooperation between school committee administrators and parents/guardians is a solution taken by school committee administrators in improving student learning discipline.

Abstract

In the all-digital era and the era of information and communication openness coupled with the pandemic period, causing various and varied conflicts in various fields of life. conflict is motivated by various things, and managers must immediately resolve the existing conflict, and it will have a negative impact if it is not handled properly. In the world of education, conflicts between schools and parents often occur, especially in the digital era and the use of social media in interacting indirectly which often creates assumptions and prejudices that lead to conflict. In this article, the author examines the causes of conflict between the school and the guardians of students on social media and their management using a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were several school managers, institutional coaches and guardians of students. The results of the study show that many conflicts occur in social media due to misunderstandings, egos and prejudices that are put forward. The solution is in the form of a spiritual, personal, cross-check and deliberation approach.
