Abstract

Failure to give exclusive breastfeeding to infants can be caused by factors in the mother's condition such as the mother's confidence or self-efficacy to provide breast milk to her baby. Most primipara mothers have low self-efficacy due to difficulties going through a role transition period and carrying out the demands of their new role as mothers. Kangaroo mother care is a method of skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby (skin-to-skin contact). In kangaroo method care, breast milk can always be available and very easy to obtain, because the baby is near the mother's breast so that the baby can suckle whenever the baby wants it and also increases the mother's bonding so that it can increase the mother's self-efficacy thereby increasing the success of the breastfeeding process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of kangaroo mother care on breastfeeding self-efficacy in primiparous mothers at RSU Royal Prima Medan in 2022. This type of research is a quasy experiment using a posttest only control group design. The results of the Independent T-Test test obtained a p-value of 0.000 which is less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05), so that we can state that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In conclusion, there is the effect of kangaroo mother care on breastfeeding self-efficacy in primiparous mothers at Royal Prima Medan General Hospital in 2022. It is hoped that this research can provide information that kangaroo mother care is very important and useful because it can increase breastfeeding self-efficacy.Key words: Kangaroo Mother Care, ASI, Self Efficacy, Breastfeeding

Abstract

Welding workers are potentially exposed to cadmium containing fumes during the welding process. Cadmium is one of the heavy metals that is considered toxic. Cadmium heavy metals can interfere with the health of body organs such as the kidneys. Accumulation of cadmium in the kidneys can decrease the excretory activity of the veins. Resulting impact is an increase in uric acid levels in the body (hyperuricemia). This study aims to determine the relationship between cadmium levels in hair and uric acid levels of welding workers in Kelurahan Banaran, Kecamatan Grogol, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Study was conducted using a purposive sampling method on 15 male welding workers. Cadmium levels in the hair were examined using FAAS. Uric acid levels in capillary blood are checked using POCT. Results of the examination of cadmium levels in 15 samples were still within the limits set by Biolab <0.10 ppm. Uric acid content examination results obtained 2 of the 15 samples had high uric acid levels >7.2 mg/dl. Data were analyzed using SPSS Pearson's Correlation Test. Results of the Pearson correlation test showed that there was no relationship between cadmium levels in the hair and uric acid levels in welding workers in Kelurahan Banaran, Kecamatan Grogol, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Keywords: Uric Acid, Cadmium, Pearson Correlation, Welding Workers

Abstract

Plants are a source of chemical compounds, both chemical compounds resulting from primary metabolism or  called primary metabolites such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats which are used by the plant itself for its growth, as well as a source of secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavanoids, steroids/terpenoids, saponins and tannins. The design of this study was a experimental  laboratory, in which morphological, anatomical, organoleptic examinations were carried out, and identification of the presence of chemical compounds in the Henna plant (Lawsonia inermis Linn) from Maluku. Morphological collation showed that the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis Linn) has single leaves facing each other. The stem is woody and thorny stems, has a taproot system. On anatomical examination, there are stomata in cross-sections and longitudinal leaves and also have vascular bundles (both xylem and phloem) in plants. In the organoleptic test, the leaves have a bitter taste and a distinctive odor at leave, while the stems and roots are tasteless and odorless. Test results Identification of the chemical content of the henna plant extract (Lawsornia inermis Linn) contains phenols, flavonoids, tannins (catechols and pyrogalotanins), saponins, steroids, and glycosides. Be observed from the chemical content of the henna plant, it can be concluded that the henna plant has medicinal properties, one of which is that it can heal cuts which the community can use for traditional medicine. It is recommended that further research be carried out to carry out pharmacological tests of henna plants on experimental animals. Keywords: Pharmacognostic Study, Henna, Chemical Content, Traditional Medicine

Abstract

Children's growth and development is one of the focuses in health development. Based on a survey of Indonesian nutrition studies, the prevalence of malnutrition in Indonesia is still high. The high number of cases gives an idea that there are still many babies who have growth problems. Such growth is closely related to weight. One of the ways to increase weight is with the baby spa method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Baby Spa on increasing the weight of babies aged 6-12 months at the Cinta Medika 4.0 clinic in 2022. This study uses a quasi-experimental approach with a one-groups pre and posttest research design. The sampling technique is based on the cross-sectional method with a total population of 30 babies and the samples used are 30 babies. Based on the sipel paired test results in the Baby group, the Asymp value was obtained. Sig (2-tailed)=0.000 or pvalue < 0.05, meaning that there is an effect of baby spa on increasing baby weight. Conclusion: The influence of baby spas on the increase in baby weight proves that baby spas increase weight faster in babies.
