Abstract

Code mixing can be happened in wide variety of language. It means that, mixing of two or morelanguages can be happened in morpheme/word, phrase, clause, and in sentence. According to Hamers(2000:270) “Code mixing is a language-contact communication strategy, but the speaker of a languagetransfers elements or rules of another language.”The researcher taught that English is important language,The reason to choose code mixing because the researcher found that students try to practice their Englishbut using sometime they have to use code mixing and swithing mostly because of lack of vocabulary.To describe the types of code mixing, to explain the functions of code mixing, and to tell the reasons ofusing code mixing. According to Siregar (1996:50) stated that Code mixing divided into two kinds, intrasentential mixing and extra-sentential mixing.Muysken (2000) defined three types of code mixing, thoseare: Insertion, Alternation, and Congruent Lexicalization.This situation is closer with daily conversationand also describe as their habitual communication. Speech situation of some people this phenomenoncould increase by status in society. In this case, for many young people code mixing becomes their ownstyle which is hoped to look like a modern and educational one.

Abstract

Phonological awareness is the area of oral language that relates to the ability to think about thesounds in a word. It is an understanding of the structure of spoken language that it is made up ofwords consist of syllables, rhymes and sounds. This ability is important for using sound-letterknowledge effectively in writing and reading as well. This research conducted the assessment ofpreschool students ability in writing the dictated words through their phonological awareness not bymemorizing the letters. There were 19 students assessed in this research. 2 out of 19 were failed toimprove in the vowel sound of oo and oa. 17 out of 19 were success to be improving after givingphonological awareness.

Abstract

Speaking is one of essential language skills in communication. Language teachers are expectedto bring an effective method in classroom to improve students’ speaking skills. Based on the preliminarystudy in language classroom SMAN 12 Medan, teachers had limited knowledge of creative method inteaching speaking which can be integrated to curriculum. Thus, the use of Fishbowl strategy can provideopportunity in the form of Fish and the Bowl for each student to practice speaking in the classroom whileconsidering about current curriculum. In the Fishbowl, each student can take a turn to deliver the ideas,and everyone has the equal chance to speak. This research focused on the implementation of Fishbowlstrategy to improve speaking ability of 30 students from first grade of SMAN 12 Medan. The researchmethodology was a classroom action research. At the end of implementing fishbowl, the researcher gavethe questionnaire to know students’ perception toward the use of Fishbowl strategy. Based on the researchfindings, there were 26,6% successful students at the pre-test. After conducting fishbowl, 100% ofstudents in the classroom had improvement in their speaking skill because each of them had more chanceto speak up something related to the topic given

Abstract

In the age of technological advancement, gadget has an important role in the various activities of aperson, no exception in learning. With a variety of applications offered by platform providers, bothandroid and iOS. Now one can learn something independently. Busuu is an application developedto help a person in learning foreign languages independently, such as learning Arabicindependently. Learning paths used in this application have been using international standards,ranging from beginner level (A1), basic level (A2), intermediate level (B1), and advanced (B2).This application provides learning materials in the form of audio visual that can improve the fourskills of English language. Optimizing the usage of Busuu applications is very likely to preparesomeone to be able to communicate in English.

Abstract

Dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas penyelenggaraan pemerintahan, badan dan/atau pejabat pemerintahan dalam menggunakan wewenangnya Pemerintah bersama dengan DPR (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat) Republik Indonesia telah menerbitkan Undang-Undang Nomor 30 tahun 2014 tentang Administrasi Pemerintahan. Salah satu tujuan utama lahirnya undang-undang ini selain agar terselenggaranya tata kelola administrasi pemerintahan yang baik yang senantiasa berlandaskan pada asas-asas umum pemerintahan baik juga bertujuan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang timbul dalam penyelenggaraan adminstrasi pemerintahan. Pengaturan mengenai administrasi pemerintahan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi dalam memberikan pelindungan hukum, baik bagi warga masyarakat khususnya terhadap pejabat pemerintahan dalam melakukan tugas dan fungsinya sebagai pelaksanaan administrasi pemerintahan. Untuk mewujudkan pelaksanaan administrasi pemerintahan yang baik, khususnya bagi pejabat pemerintahan, undang-undang tentang administrasi pemerintahan ini menjadi landasan hukum yang dibutuhkan guna mendasari keputusan dan/atau tindakan pejabat pemerintahan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hukum masyarakat dalam penyelenggaraan administrasi pemerintahan. Selanjutnya dalam hal tata cara pengenaan sanksi administrasi terhadap badan dan / atau pejabat pemerintahanan, Pemerintah kemudian menerbitkan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 48 Tahun 2016 tentang Tata Cara Pengenaan Sanksi Administratif Kepada Pejabat Pemerintahan. Lahirnya Peraturan Pemerintah ini bertujuan agar dalam rangka penyelenggaraan administrasi pemerintahan oleh pejabat administrasi pemerintahan senantiasa berpedoman terhadap ketentuan hukum dan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku. Selain itu lahirnya Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 48 Tahun 2016 bertujuan untuk meminimalisir terjadinya perbuatan pelanggaran administrasi dan penyalahgunaan kewenangan serta menjadi solusi dalam penyelesaian permasalahan pelanggaran administrasi yang dilakukan oleh pejabat administrasi pemerintahan. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian yuridis normatif yaitu penelitian hukum yang dilakukan dengan meneliti data sekunder atau kepustakaan yang diperoleh dari perpustakaan ilmiah, atau instansi atau pihak tekait yang berkompeten terhadap objek yang diteliti. Adapun metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan yuridis, yaitu menganalisis ketentuan mengenai berbagai peraturan perundang-undangan yang diteliti serta menghubungkannya dengan regulasi terkait lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aparat pengawas internal pemerintah (APIP) atau yang lebih dikenal dengan nama Inspektorat adalah lembaga yang berwenang untuk menilai dan memutuskan apakah telah terjadi pelanggaran administrasi pemerintahan yang dilakukan oleh Pejabat Administrasi Pemerintahan. Terhadap keputusan APIP yang menyatakan telah terjadi perbuatan penyalahgunaan kewenangan atau pelanggaran administrasi pemerintahan dapat diuji melalui Pengadilan Tata Usaha Negara. Sanksi terhadap perbuatan pelanggaran administrasi yang dilakukan oleh pejabat administrasi pemerintahan yang menimbulkan kerugian keuangan negara adalah dengan melakukan pengembalian atas kerugian keuangan negara dalam jangka waktu 10 (sepuluh) hari sejak putusan dijatuhkan. Terhadap adanya laporan masyarakat kepada lembaga penegak hukum terkait adanya dugaan terjadinya perbuatan melawan hukum yang dilakukan oleh pejabat administrasi pemerintahan maka laporan masyarakat tersebut oleh lembaga penegak hukum terlebih dahulu diserahkan ke APIP untuk menilai apakah perbuatan melawan yang dilaporkan tersebut termasuk pelanggaran administrasi atau perbuatan tindak pidana. Dalam hal terjadi kerugian keuangan negara yang dilakukan pejabat administrasi pemerintahan bukan untuk melindungi kepentingan umum, dilakukan dengan iktikad tidak baik, dan untuk memperkaya diri sendiri atau orang lain atau badan, serta ditemukan bukti adanya penyimpangan yang bersifat pidana, selain dilakukan pengembalian uang ke kas negara/daerah, aparat pengawasan intern pemerintah melaporkan dan menyerahkan proses lebih lanjut kepada aparat penegak hukum. Bahwa berdasarkan Undang-Undang nomor 30 tahun 2014, kelompok kerja (Pokja) dalam sebuah pelaksanaan kegiatan pengadaan barang dan jasa berasal dari kalangan Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) yang memenuhi kualifikasi tertentu, masuk dalam kategori pejabat administrasi pemerintahan sehingga kegiatan pelelangan terhadap pengadaan barang dan jasa oleh Pokja dilindungi oleh Undang-Undang No. 30 tahun 2014 jo Peraturan Pemerintah No. 48 Tahun 2016.

Abstract

This research aims to develop writing material for students of SMAN I Kolang class ten. The research problem is Which writing materials are suitable to be developed for SMAN I Grade Students X Kolang students based on a scientific approach in a text descriptive. The goal of this study is to know the appropriate writing materials that need to be developed by SMAN 1 Grade X Kolang students based on a scientific approach in a descriptive text. The data collected is by giving an interview to the English teacher and spreading the questionnaire to 36 students, where the results of interviews and questionnaires show that students. need to write English that contains the knowledge and the topics appropriate to the curriculum and the student's level, material of writing developed, namely descriptive text. Research design Sugiyono (2008). The uses of Research and Development (R&D) have gone through the 3 theoretical phases: Preliminary study, design, and the development of a model of writing material. The material of new writing was passed by the two experts. Based on the expert judgment results, the score was 87 06, which belonged to a good category in Dirgeyasa (2011), as the range is 670-89). The result of the investigation of this find is that the materials to be developed are the tourist attractions and history, boldness of Unit Lin terms of content, presentation, language, and graphics.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a skill and knowledge that the students must understand and can use to find the text's central idea. Based on the researcher observation, almost all of the students at SMKN 2 Panyabungan faced reading comprehension difficulties. The researcher applied (OK5R Strategy) to know the effect on students' reading comprehension of descriptive text at the SMKN 2 Panyabungan. This research uses a quantitative method with experimental research and for collecting data using observation and tests. The sample used in this research is XI TB1, as the experimental class consists of 20 students, and XI TM1 as the control class consists of 20 students. The technique of sampling in this research is a saturated sampling. This research OK5R Strategy positively affects students' achievement in reading comprehension at eleventh-grade students SMKN 2 Panyabungan. Abstract

This study deals with Tennessee Williams’ work, The Glass Menagerie based on psychological analysis. The characters in the play are intentionally made to identify the attitudes and behaviors of each character in order to give up clear descripion of the characters. In the Glass Menagerie there are three characters who try to escape from reality but they have different psychological problem in life. Living in illusion is Amanda’s way to escape, playing the glass figure is the way of Laura to escape from reality, while the way of Tom to escape is going to the movies. The purpose of analyzing the literary work is to display clearly about the psychological element in the play and also moral lesson clearly. Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the effect of Scientific Approach-Based on English Learning Strategy (SABELS) and Guided Reading Peer Questioning Strategy (GRPQ) on students’ reading comprehension at grade X of SMA Swasta RK Bintang Timur Pematang Siantar. The researchers used quantitative method. The mean of GRPQ strategy is 77.50, Standard Deviation is 7.75, and significance value is .002 and number of students is 36. The mean in SABELS strategy is 80.00 and standard deviation is 9.25, and significance value is 0.38 and number of students is 36. The class who got conventional strategy, it has mean 75.00, standard deviation is 7.50, and significance value is .000 and number of students is 37. Using t-test in analyzing data, is found that t-value (2,36) is higher that t-table (1,667) at level of significant 5 %. This means using SABELS is effective to develop students’ ability in reading comprehension. According to the research findings, it is concluded that SABELS is more significant than GRPQ Strategy in teaching reading comprehension at tenth grade students at SMA Swasta RK Bintang Timur Pematangsiantar. Abstract

Grammar is a study about how to make and arrange the sentence. It is an integral part of languages and is very important for the learner. Moreover, the active and passive voice form should be studied to improve our English skills. However, presently students' are sometimes uninterested in the concept of active and passive voice form. This study aims to determine the high substantial the students' obstacle in transforming active to passive voice form at X TM1 SMKN 2 Panyabungan. This research conducted a qualitative way, the source taken at X1 TM SMKN 2 Panyabungan. Data collection is observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The analysis results reveal the high dominant students' obstacles in determining the subject, using verb3, putting verb be, and obstacles found in the past continuous form. Based on this research finding, the researcher decides that few students' have an adequate understanding of passive voice. However, more students require extra effort to learn and practice grammar to be master and capable of active and passive voice form.
