Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding glycerol and sago starch as edible coating on the quality of honey citrus fruits during storage and to determine the quality and freshness quality of siamese citrus honey after the addition of glycerol and sago starch as edible coatings on the quality of honey siam during storage . This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL) arranged in factorial with 2 factors. Factor I: Comparison of glycerol, sago starch and distilled water. G0 = 0 ml glycerol concentration (control) + sago starch 10 gram + 500 ml distilled water, G1 = glycerol concentration 2ml + sago starch 10 gram + 500 ml distilled water, G2 = 4 ml glycerol concentration + sago starch 10 gram + aquades 500 ml, G3 = 6 ml glycerol + sago starch concentration 10 gram + 500 ml distilled water, G4 = 8 ml glycerol concentration + 10 sago starch + 500 ml distilled water. Factor II: Duration of storage (days). H0 = 0 days, H1 = 3 days, H2 = 6 days, H3 = 9 days, H4 = 12 days, H5 = 15 days. The results showed that the concentration of glycerol and starch of sago as edible coating on the quality of citrus honey during storage was significantly different from the weight loss with the concentration of glycerol = 8 ml at storage (15 days) which was 0.27%; and followed by Vitamin C significantly different from storage (12 days) with glycerol concentration = 0.06%, then total different acids were not significant at storage (15 days) with 0.02% glycerol concentration and different colors not significant with 1 ml glycerol concentration on storage (6 days) which is = 4.00%.

Abstract

Pembangunan dan pengembangan kualitas masyarakat petani dalam melaksanakan usahatani merupakan salah satu aspek yang mendukung terciptanya peningkatan produksi dan produktivitas pertanian, sehingga keuntungan dapat ditingkatkan. Pembangunan pertanian khususnya tanaman hortikultura yang telah dilaksanakan, telah memberikan kontribusi yang positif terhadap perkembangan ekonomi. Semakin jelas dan nyata bahwa sistem perekonomian, semakin dipengaruhi oleh sektor pertanian. Sektor ini mempunyai dampak dalam kelangsungan pendapatan petani suatu daerah. Budidaya tanaman sayuran di Indonesia umumnya dilakukan dengan pola tanam monokultur dan polikultur. Monokultur adalah sisitem budi daya pada suatu areal lahan yang ditanami dengan satu jenis tanaman saja. Sedangkan polikultur merupakan sistem budi daya tanaman pada satu areal lahan yang sama dalam satu tahun ditanami dengan beberapa jenis tanaman, baik yang ditanam dalam waktu yang bersamaan atau waktu yang sedikit berbeda. Perkembangan hama dan penyakit cenderung lebih mudah terjadi pada pola tanam monokultur karena sumber makanan bagi hama dan patogen selalu tersedia. Sebaliknya pada pola tanam polikultur yang diikuti dengan pola rotasi tanaman dapat memutus siklus hidup hama dan penyakit. Rotasi tanaman memiliki banyak keunggulan. Pada beberapa sistem budidaya tanaman organik, rotasi tanaman sangat direkomendasikan. Beberapa keunggulan rotasi tanaman adalah mampu mengurangi intensitas serangan hama atau penyakit, meningkatkan kesuburan tanah, serta rotasi tanaman sangat direkomendasikan. Beberapa keunggulan rotasi tanaman adalah mampu mengurangi intensitas serangan hama atau penyakit, meningkatkan kesuburan tanah, serta mampu membentuk ekosistem mikro yang stabil. Selain itu, di dalam dunia agribisnis pada beberapa jenis komoditas terutama jenis sayuran mampu memenuhi permintaan pasar yang diinginkan.

Abstract

Cabbage are one of the vegetable plants that have extensive planting centers in Karo Regency. Currently almost 100% of farmers still use chemical fertilizers in cabbage cultivation. To keep the soil in good condition, it is very necessary to provide organic fertilizer, both in solid and liquid forms which can keep the chemical, physical and biological properties of the soil good. Therefore a study was conducted which aimed to obtain the right type of compost and liquid organic fertilizer to increase cabbage growth and production. The research was carried out at the Berastagi Experimental farm with andisol soil types, altitude of 1,340 m asl. The activity began in July - September 2018. The study used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications. The first factor is the type of compost (K0. Comparator = chicken manure), K1. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) fermentation with EM liquid, K2. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) fermentation with solid bran EM, K3. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) fermentation with solid bran EM and kernel and K4. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) enriched with microorganisms). The second factor is the type of Liquid Organic Fertilizer/LOF (O0. Without LOF, O1. LOF Krinyu + kernel, O2. LOF Krinyu + cow urine + seaweed and O3. LOF Comparator). The results showed that the chicken manure compost was able to increase the growth of cabbage plants. Giving chicken manure compost yields the highest weight and cabbage crop 18.42 cm and 1.53 kg, followed by the Cow manure + Chicken manure (1: 1) enriched with microorganisms accompanied by LOF Krinyu + cow urine + seaweed, ie 18 , 38 cm and 1.30 kg. Giving chicken manure compost produced a significantly higher production, which was 6.99 kg.

Abstract

This study was to determine the effect of aquasym doses and watering intervals on the growth od ail palm seedlings in pre nursery. The research was condueted from Oktober 2017 untik completed, in the village of mulyorejo subdistrict Sunggal of Deliserdang districk. Experiments using a randomized block design (RAK) with 2 factor 3 replications. The first factor is Dosage of Aguasym Ao = without Aguasym, A1 = 20 gr/polybag, A2=40 gr/polybag and A3 = 60 gr/polybag. The second factor is the watering interval Io=2 times days, I1=2 days, I2=3 days, I4= 4 days. Results of research conducted and after analyzed in statistik obtained that the treatment of Aquasym dose gave no signicant 40 gr/polybag (A2) showed better, tendency in all parameter observed. Treatment of the watering interval did not make a significant difference to all observed parameters, although there was a tendency that with 3 day watering. (I2) showed better plant growth on all observed parameters. The interaction between aquasym doses and watering intervals did not make a significant difference to all observed parameters, however there was a tendency that with 3-day watering intervals (I2) yielding better plant growth that other combinations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the number of tubers / kg of seeds and the dose of biological liquid fertilizer on the growth and production of potato plants. The research was carried out at the Quality University Experimental Garden in Karo District at + 2140 m asl which was conducted from June 2017 - September 2017. This study used Factorial Randomized Group Design with two treatment factors. The first factor is the size of seed bulbs with four levels, namely: 7 tubers / kg (P1); 14 tubers / kg (P2) and 21 tubers / kg (P3), and the second factor is the liquid fertilizer dosage with four levels: 0.0 ml / l water (Ho); 0.2 ml / l water (H1); 0.4 ml / l water (H2); 0.8 ml / l water (H3). The results showed that the treatment of tuber size as seeds significantly affected the number of tubers / samples of production / samples, production / plots, but not significantly different for plant height, number of branches. The treatment of biological liquid fertilizer doses significantly affected plant height, tuber / sample number, production / sample, production / plot. But it was not significant for the number of branches. The interaction between the two treatment factors did not significantly affect all parameters observed throughout the study.

Abstract

Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) is one of exotic plants in Indonesia because its has a unique smell and taste and it grows on a spesific place like dairi regency, north tapanuli, south tapanuli, simalungun and karo regency. This study aim to determine soaking time of andaliman with kalsium klorida concentration 45%. Soaking time consist of 4 type : L1 = 10 Menit, L2 = 20 Menit, L3 = 30 Menit dan L4 = 40 Menit.

Abstract

Determination of the optimum dosage of urea fertilizer (source N) and MOP (source K) in oil palm producing (TM) plants through fertilization experiments in the field is very important because the plant needs for both types of fertilizers are relatively high. N-K fertilization trials on TM (aged 4-12 years) have been conducted at one location of PT.Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk & Subs (in two gardens: Lubuk Raja Estate and / Balam Rumbia Estate) during the 1992-2000 time period. The urea and MOP fertilization treatments separately showed the response of FFB production by 22 and 50%, respectively (1995 - 2000). The interaction of urea and MOP is not real. The response curve of FFB production to urea and MOP doses showed that the optimum dosage in Typic Paleudult soil types for TM aged 7-12 years was 2.50 kg urea and 3.00 kg MOP / tree / year to achieve the production target of 28 tons of FFB / ha /year.To get the maximum fertilizing effect, fertilization must be done by using the type of fertilizer, the correct method and time of fertilization, and with fertilizer quality that is in accordance with specifications (for example SNI or Indonesian National Standard). An examination of the quality of fertilizers is important so that the company avoids multiple losses that have a large impact on production.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dan tingkat efektivitas dari penggunaan pupuk organic berbasis limbah biogas dan organik komersial pada pertumbuhan tanaman padi Banyuasin. Metode yg digunakn dalam penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan acak kelompok dengan beberapa perlakuan, yakni P1 = Tanpa pemberian pupuk (Kontrol), P2 = Pemberian pupuk organic limbah biogas, P3 = Pemberian pupuk organic komersial dan dianalisis menggunakan program Costat (one way anova) dan apabila menunjukkan perbedaan nyata maka akan di uji lanjut dengan uji Duncan dengan taraf nyata 5%. Data menunjukkan bahwa perbandingan uji efektivitas antara kedua jenis pupuk diperoleh pupuk organik komersial memiliki efektivitas yang baik dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman padi banyu asin dari jumlah anakan yang lebih banyak, tinggi tanaman yang lebih baik dan berat kering tanaman yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan pupuk organic dari limbah biogas.

Abstract

The aim of study is to identify and analyse the role of women in improving their incomes by taking advantage of mangrove forest (Wanatani mangrove) in economic activities in Sei Naga Lawan village, Perbaungan sub district, Serdang bedagai regency among these are the age of farm women (x1), income of farm women (x2), farm women’s land area (x3), marital status of test (x4), experience level (x5) analyze the revenue afforded the womenworking over mangrove accounts in their contributions to his family revenues. The result of the correlation test, the influential factor in booting farm women’s incomes is based on linear regression to variabel influences in farm women’s incomes. Based on the first hypothes put by researches, the variabels of agricultural stock to mangrove forest are influenced (x1 and x5), which account for a significant and redlified significance of 0.05 (0.016). Thus, it can be inferred that the rate of peaset women’s wages have a bearing on income. The insignificant facts raised by researches show that variabel land area (x3) and subsequent variabels show that marital status (x4) and so do variable rates of experience (x5) are incalculable to the incomes of mangrove farm women.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of internet use of vegetable farmers and to analyze what factors influence farmer behavior in searching for agricultural information using the internet in Medan Marelan District, Medan City. The research method used is descriptive quantitative by collecting information through observation, distributing questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis method was carried out by calculating the acquisition score and multiple linear analysis. The results showed that the level of farmer behavior in searching for agricultural information using the internet was high at 76.5%. Based on the test results of multiple linear analysis, the effect of independent variables on farmer behavior is 68.5%, while the remaining 31.5% is influenced by other factors.
