Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of student affairs management in enhancing non-academic achievement at SMP IT Al Hikmah Anjatan Indramayu. The main focus of this research is on the implementation of talent and interest development programs, student empowerment strategies, and the forms of intrinsic motivational support applied by the school. The objectives of this study include: 1) Analyzing and predicting student affairs management in improving students’ non-academic achievement at SMP IT Al Hikmah Anjatan Indramayu; 2) Analyzing and predicting the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving students’ non-academic achievement at the same institution; and 3) Analyzing and predicting the outcomes of improved non-academic achievement through student affairs management at SMP IT Al Hikmah Anjatan Indramayu. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of this study show that structured and character-based student affairs management at SMP IT Al Hikmah Anjatan Indramayu has proven effective in enhancing students' non-academic achievements. This is reflected in the success of various extracurricular activities that actively involve students and foster responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. Additionally, intrinsic motivation and an inclusive school culture greatly impact students' enthusiasm in participating in non-academic activities. Student empowerment through involvement in decision-making and active teacher guidance fosters greater independence and accountability among students regarding both the process and outcomes of their activities. Furthermore, the development of students’ talents and interests through activities tailored to their individual potentials boosts engagement and achievement. The school provides space and support for students to express their interests whether in arts, sports, or religious activities which significantly contributes to building self-confidence and leadership skills.

Abstract

The Principal in the Education Unit is a leader who has two positions, namely as a formal leader and school manager. In carrying out his duties, the principal has different strategies and methods according to his character, which is known as the leadership style. This study aims to analyze and describe the prophetic and servant leadership styles applied by the Head of Tunas Rimba Perhutani Cikawung-Indramayu Kindergarten, as well as how Islamic values are integrated in the management of these educational institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the principal, teachers, administrative staff, representatives of the Taruna Rimba Perhutani Foundation, and representatives of student parents. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Principal consistently applies a prophetic leadership style that includes the traits of Siddiq (honest), Amanah (responsible), Tabligh (communicative), and Fathanah (intelligent). In addition, the servant leadership style is also very prominent, realized through concern, empathy, and support for the needs of teachers, staff, and students. The integration of Islamic values such as justice, deliberation, and mutual cooperation (ta'awun) has led to the development of the school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of supervisory management and its impact on the performance of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Lohbener, Indramayu Regency. The study used qualitative methods with descriptive data. Subjects included the principal, vice principal, and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results indicate that supervision is carried out in a structured and continuous manner every semester, encompassing academic supervision for teachers and supervision of educational staff. The supervision process consists of three stages: planning (determining objectives, resource requirements, and the roles of relevant parties), implementation (classroom visits, teaching observations, and personal conversations), and evaluation and follow-up through a summary of supervision results and direct and indirect training. This supervision has a positive impact on improving Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher performance, including identifying teacher weaknesses, improving teaching skills, understanding student needs, and improving learning outcomes. Supervision also facilitates policy adjustments to improve educational quality. Supporting factors for successful supervision include school management collaboration, thorough planning, an appropriate approach, and a positive school culture. Barriers include limited time, the number of supervisors, limited understanding of supervision, limited infrastructure, and teachers' mastery of information technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) peran guru PAI dalam membentuk karakter religius peserta didik di SDN 1 Dauh Peken, (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran PAI dalam pembentukan karakter religius, (3) evaluasi pembelajaran PAI dalam pembentukan karakter religius, serta (4) faktor pendukung dan penghambat pembentukan karakter religius di SDN 1 Dauh Peken. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Keabsahan data diuji dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) peran guru PAI sangat penting dalam membentuk karakter religius, terlebih bagi siswa minoritas yang perlu mendapat penguatan sejak sekolah dasar; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan melalui kegiatan intrakurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler; (3) evaluasi pembelajaran menggunakan penilaian autentik, penilaian acuan kriteria, dan hasil akhir pembelajaran; serta (4) faktor pendukung meliputi ruang kelas, media pembelajaran, dan sarana prasarana, sementara faktor penghambat mencakup latar belakang siswa, lingkungan luar sekolah, dan pengaruh teman sebaya. Simpulan bahwa peran guru PAI dalam membentuk karakter religius peserta didik adalah proses membimbing, mentransformasikan, dan mengembangkan potensi siswa agar senantiasa berpikir, berhati, dan berperilaku baik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's management in improving teacher professionalism at Nurul Barokah Cikijing Islamic Junior High School, Majalengka Regency. Teacher professionalism is a key factor in determining the quality of education, therefore the principal's role as an educational manager is crucial to ensuring optimal learning. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the principal carries out management functions that include integrated planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising to improve teacher professionalism. Planning is carried out through the development of work programs based on teacher and school needs. Organization is carried out by placing teachers according to their competencies and areas of expertise. Implementation is carried out through providing motivation, supervision, training, and rewards to teachers. Meanwhile, supervision is carried out through periodic evaluations of teacher performance, both individually and collectively. This study also found that supporting factors for improving teacher professionalism include internal teacher motivation, discipline, and supporting infrastructure. The challenges faced include a limited number of certified teachers, poor time management, and minimal use of learning technology. Therefore, it can be concluded that educational success is largely determined by the principal's ability to effectively manage human resources, enabling teachers to improve their pedagogical, professional, personal, and social competencies.

Abstract

Character education plays a crucial role in shaping moral individuals and communities. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at Maarif NU Nashirul Huda Middle School bear a significant responsibility in preparing a generation grounded in faith and piety, especially amidst the nation's moral crisis. This study aims to: (1) describe the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' character, (2) identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and (3) find solutions to the obstacles encountered. The method used was field research with a qualitative approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using triangulation to ensure validity. The results show that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers use learning strategies such as cooperative learning, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) by integrating character values. Religious activities such as congregational prayer, BDI extracurricular activities, the culture of salim (shalim), Pondok Ramadhan (Ramadan Islamic Boarding School), istighotsah (Islamic charity), infaq (charity), and PHBI (Islamic Religious Behavior). To overcome these obstacles, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers incorporate Quranic verses and Hadith into each lesson as an effective solution

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal's management of NU Model Middle School in developing entrepreneurship within the school environment. The research background stems from the importance of instilling an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age to develop an independent, creative, and innovative generation in facing global challenges. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.The results indicate that the principal's management in developing entrepreneurship encompasses four main functions. First, planning, which involves setting goals, strategizing, providing resources, and developing an entrepreneurship program integrated with the curriculum. Second, organizing, which includes formulating goals, dividing work, assigning personnel according to competencies, delegating authority, and coordinating with internal and external parties. Third, implementation, which emphasizes visionary leadership, fostering entrepreneurial attitudes and morals, effective communication, providing incentives, and discipline. Fourth, monitoring, which is carried out through setting standards, evaluating performance, comparing results with targets, and correcting deviations.The conclusion of this study confirms that the principal's management of NU Model Middle School plays a significant role in building a conducive entrepreneurial climate within the school. Well-planned, organized, well-executed, and continuously supervised management can foster student independence, creativity, innovation, and competitiveness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya tingkat kedisiplinan siswa, padahal sikap disiplin merupakan aspek penting dalam kehidupan, terutama bagi siswa yang masih berada di bangku sekolah. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan adalah melalui pembiasaan salat Dhuha secara berjamaah. Hal ini sebagaimana diterapkan di SMK Al Biruni Ciwaringin Cirebon, di mana siswa-siswinya dibiasakan melaksanakan salat Dhuha berjamaah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembiasaan salat Dhuha berjamaah dan menganalisis dampaknya sebagai metode dalam menumbuhkan sikap disiplin di kalangan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi data, serta keabsahan data diperoleh melalui perpanjangan pengamatan, ketekunan dalam pengamatan, triangulasi, dan pemeriksaan sejawat. Hasil penelitian ini program pembinaan ibadah dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan di lingkungan sekolah. Bagi guru Pendidikan Agama Islam, hasil ini dapat menjadi bahan masukan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, khususnya dalam aspek ibadah dan pembentukan karakter.

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to obtain objective data on the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering the habit of congregational prayer at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Khairiyah Jakarta. The focus of the research includes: (1) the implementation of Islamic religious education, (2) the implementation of congregational prayer for students, and (3) the role of PAI teachers in fostering the habit of congregational prayer at the madrasah. The method used is inductive qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Islamic religious education has been running well according to the curriculum. However, the implementation of congregational prayer for students is still ineffective because participation in the prayer room is still low. The role of PAI teachers in fostering the habit of congregational prayer is also considered less than optimal. The implications of the research emphasize the importance of increasing teacher responsibility in accompanying students, providing examples in implementing congregational prayer, and providing educational sanctions for students who do not implement it.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze efforts to improve school quality reports through a collaborative management system at Tegalwaru State Vocational High School. The background of this research is based on the importance of synergy among school stakeholders, including the principal, teachers, education staff, and external parties, in improving the quality of education in accordance with the National Education Standards (SNP). The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that implementing a collaborative management system involving all school components can improve the achievement of quality indicators, such as graduate competencies, learning processes, and school management. Supporting factors for success include participatory leadership, effective communication, and the use of information technology. Barriers encountered include limited resources and a lack of awareness of the importance of collaboration on the part of some parties. In conclusion, the collaborative management system is an effective strategy for improving school quality reports and can therefore be recommended for sustainable implementation.
