The weak institutional capacity is due to the participation of members and the lack of understanding of the institutional role in the countryside. This research aims to identify the existence, role and development strategy in the institution of the Arum Gula Association. This research was carried out using a descriptive quantitative method using primary data obtained through interviews with palm farmers and secondary data obtained from related agencies such as the Agriculture Office, the Plantation Office, the Central, Statistics Agency (BPS) and previous journals. Abstract

Garut Regency has great potential in developing palm derivative products, especially palm sugar, as a regional superior commodity. However, marketing this product still faces various obstacles such as limited market access, lack of innovation in marketing strategies, and minimal use of technology. This research aims to identify and develop marketing development strategies for palm sugar products in Garut Regency using SWOT analysis. The research was conducted in three main palm sugar producing sub-districts, namely Bungbulang, Cisewu, and Pakenjeng, with data collection techniques through field surveys, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) using descriptive methods and using purposive sampling techniques involving 30 respondents from palm sugar farmers and craftsmen. SWOT analysis identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats related to sugar marketing. The results of the analysis produced 11 alternative development strategies with the main strategies supported by commodity stakeholders including plant rejuvenation, product diversification, technology training, strengthening modan and developing export markets. The implementation of this strategy is expected to expand market reach, increase farmers' income, and encourage Garut Regency palm sugar products to compete in national and international markets. This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between farmers, craftsmen, government and the private sector for the desire and optimization of palm sugar marketing.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of post-harvest technology, specifically the use of roasting machines, on increasing the added value of Gugeuls coffee, a specialty product of Jatiroke Village, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. Before the implementation of technology, Gugeuls coffee was traditionally processed, resulting in limited economic value. Using the Hayami method, this study calculated the added value from processing 50 kg of green beans into roasted beans. The findings revealed that the roasting machine provided an added value of IDR 117,600 per 50 kg of raw materials, reducing labor costs by up to 3%. Although the added value remained constant, the technology improved processing efficiency and reduced production costs. This positively impacted farmers' welfare and enhanced the competitiveness of local coffee products. This study highlights the importance of technological innovation in improving productivity and sustainability in agribusiness ventures.

Abstract

Infant until 6 months are generally given only breast milk. When the age more than 6 months, infant needs more vitamins, mineral, protein and carbohydrates that cannot be fulfilled from breast milk. Therefore, since the age of 6 months, infant need breastfeeding complementary food (MP-ASI) to meet their nutrition need. MP-ASI can be made by combining local raw material with milk powder. Research had been conducted to combine milk powder, red sweet potato flour and mung beans flour. The objective of the research was to determine the right balance of milk powder, red sweet potato flour and mung beans flour to produce MP-ASI with good organoleptic characteristics and nutrition content. The experimental method was applied in this research through Randomized Block Design with 7 treatments and each one repeated 4 timed. The treatments were the balance of milk powder, red sweet potato flour and mung beans flour those were A=50: 35: 15, B=50: 30: 20, C=50: 25: 25, D=50: 20: 30, E=50: 15: 35, F=50: 10: 40, and G=50: 5: 45. The results were analyzed statistically with variant analysis, and continued with Duncan Multirange Test. Result of the research indicated that the balance of 50: 5: 45 produced the finest MP-ASI according to organoleptic characteristics taste, color, aroma and texture. This balance produced energy 364ccal and 27,87 grams of protein.

Abstract

The problems studied in this research are: (1) marketing channels for cut roses, (2) the costs, margins and profits of marketing cut roses, and (3) marketing efficiency based on the percentage of costs of the total production value. The sampling technique for farmers was carried out using the simple random sampling method, while the sample for marketing institutions was taken using Snowball Sampling. The respondents were 30 farmers, 3 collectors, 2 wholesalers and 5 retailers. The data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively. The research results show that: (1) There is one marketing channel for cut roses in Kertawangi Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency namely from farmers to collector Ttraders then to wholesalers then to retailers and finally to consumers; (2) The average marketing margin is IDR 2,000 per stalk with an average marketing cost of IDR 153.33 per stalk so the average marketing profit is IDR 1,846.67 per stalk, and (3) Marketing efficiency for collecting traders is 7.32 percent, for wholesalers is 1.00 percent, and for retailers is 3.09 percent, thus the marketing channel for cut roses is an efficient channel because it has an efficiency value of less than 50 percent, the most efficient marketing of cut roses is with wholesalers because the efficiency value is the smallest, namely 1.00 percent.
