Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem solving handouts on students critical thinking skills and the effect of problem-solving handouts on the students creative thinking ability and the difference in learning outcomes of the two measured thinking skills after learning using handout-based physics problem solving on static fluid materials. The study population is all students of class XI MIA SMAN 1 Praya Timur with research sample consist of two classes that class XI MIA 1 as critical thinking experiment group and class XI MIA 2 as experiment group of creative thinking. Both samples are taught using handout-based troubleshooting. The instrument used in this study uses critical thinking test and essay of creative thinking. The result of analysis of class XI MIA 1 data obtained pretest average value of 45.1 and posttest of 75.3 so obtained Sig value. (2-tailed) data (0.00) < alfa test (0.05). This result indicates that there is influence of problem solving handout to critical thinking skill of XI MIA class 1. The result of analysis of class XI MIA 2 data obtained pretest value of equal to 35,9 and posttest of 62,4 so obtained by Sig value. (2-tailed) data (0.00) < alfa test (0.05). These results indicate that there is a problem-based handout effect on problem-solving thinking ability of XI MIA class 2 students. The average difference in learning outcomes from both experimental groups of critical thinking and creative thinking suggests that learning using handouts based on problem solving is more appropriate to be used to train students 'critical thinking skills are compared to train students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada mata pelajaran biologi ditinjau dari profil pemenuhan standar nasional pendidikan dan proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Karas tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi, penyebaran angket, dan wawancara langsung dengan guru dan peserta didik. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase pemenuhan 8 standar nasional pendidikan di SMA Negeri 1 Karas sebesar 81,48%. Hasil analisis Ujian Nasional selama tiga tahun terakhir pada mata pelajaran biologi menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penurunan nilai rerata penguasaan materi tingkat mata pelajaran biologi selama tiga tahun terakhir yaitu tahun 2015 sebesar 77,69 menurun di tahun 2016 menjadi sebesar 67,16 dan penurunan nilai rerata penguasaan materi biologi peserta didik berlanjut di tahun 2017 sebesar 56,04. Hasil angket proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah menurut guru telah mencapai 83,3% dan menurut peserta didik mencapai 65,7%. Pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru sudah dilakukan sesuai dengan standar pelaksanaan kurikulum yang diterapkan di sekolah yaitu melalui pendekatan saintifik. Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru menurut peserta didik sudah baik, namun perlu dikembangkan dan ditingkatkan agar hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik meningkat dan lebih bagus dari sebelumnya

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the validity of the metacognition ability instruments which include metacognition knowledge and metacognition awareness. The metacognition knowledge instrument in the form of essay tests totaling 20 items, while the metacognition awareness instrument is the Metacognition Awareness Inventory (MAI). This study is a descriptive qualitative study to assess and obtain the quality of metacognition knowledge and metacognition awareness instruments that are valid to characterize student metacognition abilities. The instrument of student metacognition knowledge was validated by two physics educations’ experts, the instrument of metacognition knowledge was also empirically validated by involving 30 physics education students as respondents. Unlike the instrument of metacognition knowledge, the metacognition awareness instrument is only empirically validated by involving 90 students across the study program as respondents. The results showed: (1) the validator's assessment of the metacognition knowledge instrument both from the content validity aspect and construct validity was valid categorized (range of scores> 3.6) and reliable for the two components of assessment in a row namely Percentage of agreement = 97.3% and 98.6%, (2) the empirical validity of the metacognition knowledge instrument was declared valid (Pearson Correlation > rtable) and reliable (Cronbach's alpha = 0.944), (3) the instrument of metacognition awareness was declared reliable (0.6 ≤ α ≤ 1.0) although some components of the student metacognition awareness instrument are empirically declared invalid. These results indicate that the instrument of metacognition ability is valid to use in characterizing the prospective physics teacher students’ metacognition ability.

Abstract

One of the subjects in the physics education program is Biological Physics. The learning outcome of the course is able to analyze variously integrated and applied physics in understanding biology and be able to apply it. However, the duration of the lecture is not sufficient to train maximum analytical skills in each chapter and every meeting. Efforts to overcome this are by applying online classes to support face-to-face lectures in class with assistance from e-learning in the form of Schoology and Edmodo. The purpose of this study is to describe whether or not there are differences in analytical skills between students who carry out learning with the help of Schoology and with Edmodo's assistance. This type of research is quasi-experiment with Non-equivalent Group Posttest-Only Design methods. Samples were students of Physics Education, Lambung Mangkurat University who attended the Biology Physics course 2017/2018. Data was collected through posttest from classes that use Schoology and classes that use Edmodo, which consists of 4 questions to determine analytical skills with matching, specifying, analyzing error indicators, and generalizing indicators. Based on the results of the study, obtained sig (2-tailed) value of 1.66> 0.05. Therefore, the results of this study indicate that there is no difference in the ability of analysis between classes that carry out Schoology-assisted learning and Edmodo-assisted learning. Thus, both Schoology and Edmodo can be used as an aid in learning to train and improve students' analytical skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Prediction Guide berbantuan Mind Mapping terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII SD SMP Negeri SATAP 2 Lingsar. Jenis penelitian ini Quasi Eksperimen (eksperimen semu). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dan pendekatan kualitatif dengan bentuk rancangan Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan sampling jenuh. Sampel dalam penelitian berjumlah 17 siswa untuk kelas kontrol dan 17 siswa untuk kelas eksperimen. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil pada siswa kelas sampel dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi keterlaksanaan RPP, angket motivasi dengan jenis tertutup yang terdapat pernyatan positif dan negatif, dan tes hasil belajar kognitif dengan jenis pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 20 soal. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan RPP, angket motivasi dan tes hasil belajar kognitif pada materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup. Data angket motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji-t, hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa motivasi kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol, untuk uji-t motivasi belajar siswa diperoleh t hitung 10,55 sedangkan t tabel pada taraf signifikan 5% 2,04 sehingga t hitung > t tabel maka Ha diterima. Hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen yang diberi strategi pembelajaran Prediction Guide berbantuan Mind Mapping lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol, dan untuk uji-t hasil belajar kognitif siswa t hitung 6,39 sedangkan t tabel pada taraf signifikan 5% 2,04 sehingga t hitung > t tabel maka Ha diterima. Dengan demikian strategi pembelajaran Prediction Guide berbantuan Mind Mapping berpengaruh terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII SD SMP Negeri SATAP 2 Lingsar.
