Abstract

The implementation of science and technology (IPTEKS) in the form of counseling with the title "School Bullying, Judging from a Legal Perspective" was carried out at the School of Hope Papua, taking into account the schools referred and also others school in Sentani district. The purpose of this research and service is to provide understanding to students in order to understand and understand the factors that cause school intimidation and how to overcome school bullying based on Indonesian laws and regulations. The results of this service are that the material provided in the discussion about the Bullying  at School can be well received by students and using indicators receiving good responses and  assistance  given by student when the update is taking place. Through this service, students are expected to become aware of the forms and factors that cause bullying as well as punishments that can be applied to a compilation of someone doing bullying so that this also becomes a prevention effort if for student. Socialization must also be carried out continuously so that it will minimize the handling of bullying that has recently been carried out in the school environment. Keywords: Bullying, school bullying, handling, environment

Abstract

Buah merah plant (Pandanus conoideus Lam) is an original plant from Papua that take an important role in the fulfillment of food needs of the local people in Jayawijaya mountains-Wamena. This plant is also used as a cooking oil spice and useful as traditional medicine, degenerative drugs, HIV and other drugs and can increase endurance. Red fruit crops have appeared to be high value merchandise and export commodities. Red fruit oil is considered a functional oil because it can be used as a preventive agent for various diseases, such as anticancer, antioxidant, antidiabetic, HIV treatment, etc. Red fruit extract products are widely produced in Papua. The selling price in the market ranges from Rp 150.000 to Rp 200.000 per liter. This extract is often forged by adding other oils; such as corn oil, soybean oil, palm oil, sesame oil, and other vegetable oils to gain higher profits. This activity aims to make the red fruit cooking oil products (MGBM) is economical and generate good profits. Methods of implementation are sampling, MGBM product creation, marketing, evaluation, and reporting. The results obtained are the presence of red fruit products with profits from the sale of 20 bottles get a profit of Rp. 1.400.000. Keywords: Buah merah (Pandanus conoideus), Edible Oil, Jayawijaya

Abstract

Training on processing statistical data was carried out on 18 and 25 August 2018 at SMPN 2 Sentani. The aim of the training is to motivate and improve the ability of teachers to process statistical data and interpret their output and be able to use the SPSS Program in processing statistical data so as to improve the quality of research and teacher scientific work. The method used to support the success of this program is in the form of training, demonstration and practice or tutorial. The results of the implementation of service activities felt by the team and the training participants were very satisfying, with indicators of participant activity in each activity process, and participating in training enthusiastically. The training of statistical programs for junior high school teachers in the community service program that has been implemented is expected to provide understanding and also the ability of teachers to use statistical programs that will have an impact on increasing research productivity and teaching and learning and professionalism of teachers in junior high school Jayapura.Keywords: data processing,  statistic, SPSS, SMPN Sentani

Abstract

The learning media can be interpreted as all objects that mediates in the occurrence of learning. Based on its function, the learning media can be tools and medium. Tools are the learning media containing or bring the characteristics of the concepts of the studied. While medium is the learning media who has main function as a tool for learning. The purpose of the activity is to increase the capabilities of mathematics calculation of the first grade student at SDN Inpres Melam Hilli and SDN Inpres Kemiri about the concept of counting operation by utilizing the learning media. The counting operation intended in this activity are defined as the concept of the sum and reduction of natural number from 1 to 20. The methods used in activity are lecturing method, asking questions method, and gaming method. In this activity two types of the games are done, which are papan saku game and tali pas game to embed the concept of counting operation. After this two games are done, the students directed to complete LKS I and II. The success indicator that the students understand the material about counting operation by utilizing mathematics learning media is that they can complete LKS with a value more than or equal to 70. The impact of this activity is the students are very excited in following the activities ranging from the introduction, delivery of the material accompanied by papan saku game ang tali pas game, until the evaluation. On the evaluation phase most of the students quite understand the material that has been delivered and complete LKS with value more than or equal to 70. This means, the utilization of learning media with the gaming method could increase the value of learning/the capabilities of mathematics calculation of the students, especially at counting operation material. Keywords: mathematics learning media, counting operation, gaming method

Abstract

Dedication is directly applied in the field with the management of using equipment that is cheap, simple, and affordable and can be directly benefited by the community of sarmi village. To overcome high water turbidity levels required a processing with the aim of reducing and even removing the level of turbidity and odor of the water. One of the treatment is filtration method using fibers, charcoal, sand, foam, and gravel as filter and absorbent material, as well as paralon pipes as medium where the processing place. The result of this water treatment is not prioritized for the purposes of drinking water, but for the purposes of bathing and washing. With the precense of groundwater processing, so in this case a little more the need for clean water for the community can be resolved, where the color and odor in the groundwater can be  neutralized to odorless and colorless, so the water is feasible to be used for everyday purposes in particular bathing and washing. Keywords: Physical properties of groundwater, treacment.

Abstract

Professionalism in taching has become the target of teachers in Indonesia to be achieved. For this reason, this community service program has been conducted. The purpose of this activity is to improve professionalism of Senior High School English teachers in the regency of Jayapura, especially in mastering text types. The method used was interviews and group discussion. This activity has resulted in the improvement of the teachers’ more understanding on text types so they can have enough knowledge to teach their students confidently.
